Caps rookie dinner tonight in Anaheim. While they have no "true" rookies on the team, Eric Fehr and Tyler Sloan will be footing the bill

That'll be the happiest $1,000+ dinner Tyler Sloan will ever buy. I can't imagine what a trip this west-coast road swing is going to be for him.

You are way underestimating the cost of a rookie dinner.

Haha well I know I am fully unaware the total cost, but I was in ENGL489Q when I posted that comment and didn't give the monetary amount enough thought. I did some prodding though (I'm in JOUR175 and this is a jokkkee. Youtube videos are curriculum approved now?) and this is the best I could find about "rookie dinners"...

"Erskine got off cheaply, spending a mere $1400 for his portion. "There was no lobster and they had run out of the $600 bottles of wine," said Erskine, who has a good appreciation for the grape".

As a side note, even though Ovie had a problem scoring in his first few weeks, he has 4 more points (22) through 16 games than he did last year. He's got 8 goals so far compared to his 10 last year.

I think going home to visit his family/grandfather probably did a lot of good to clear his head and help him re-focus.

Greens out for tonights game. He arrived to the rink this morning, wearing a sling. Said he is not sure what's wrong, but doesn't think it's serious (a seperation or break), but too sore for tonight.

Tarik (wash post beat reporter) says he should have more within the hour, but would imagine either Mo or Fedorov would be back in the lineup for tonights game to play D

I gotta say that Green was loving himself a little too much and Pronger might have reminded him that this is the NHL not pickup in Rockville on a Sat evening.

It was a great hit. Unfortunate that it left green in a sling. Going for an MRI tomorrow, Morissonn is back in the lineup tonight, forwards stay the same, so it should be the following lineup

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Kozlov

Flash-Laich-Fehr

Steckel-Gordon-Bradley

Brashear-Nylander-Clark

Mo-Schultz

Poti-Sloan

Erskin-Juice

Johnny getting the start in goal.

Fedorov still out with the ankle, Semin still out with the back, neither even took morning skate today.

The Kings fired Boudreau abruptlyin 2005 as the Monarchs coach. From there he was hired by Hershey, won a Calder cup, went to the finals the next year, became interim coach of the caps taking them from last in the league to a game 7 OT in the playoffs.

So, while he could be bitter at the unceremonious dumping back then, he, as he does, took the high road. From tarik at the post

I asked Boudreau if he's motivated to face the organization that fired him, somewhat unexpectedly, in 2005.

"I should be doing cartwheels and be thanking them for doing what they did," he said. "No one ever likes to get fired. But there's no chance I would having the time of my life like I'm having now."

My wife and her friends are going to a midnight showing of Twilight tonight, so it's just me the dogs and some beer with the caps game starting at 10.30pm B)

As of now, the rumor mill has it as: Dustin Byfuglien + Brent Sopel to the Caps for Michael Nylander. Could be finished as early as tomorrow.
