Easton Stealth S19 Initial Thoughts/Link to long-term review

Recommended Posts

Looks nice and simple, let's see about a month from now to see how the durability is. $240 price tag is fine as long as all the issues from the 17 has been address.

Canadian? Thats not that bad, i recall the Sicore grip synergys being close to $300 when they came out, as well as all the other stealths the price has gone down a bit. One of my cnt's i paid damn near 300 at $289.99. On a sidenote, i think that stick looks beautiful. Hopefully they can use some paint that doesnt chip as much as some of there other sticks, the cnt stealths were pretty near chip-proof if there is such a thing.

Easton jacked all their prices going into 2009 product. I wouldn't expect any different from them. However, they might want to look outside their windows at the real world or read the newspapers. The economy blows.

It's nice that Easton is addressing a big durability issue. Every single S17 I repaired last season was broken in the elliptical portion of the shaft.

On top?

Pretty much from just above the fuse point and up. I was very surprised that I didn't get any blades to repair. Normally what I see are a blade or mid shaft break on Easton sticks.

Keep in mind, most sticks break in this area, not just the S17. I would say 75% of the repairs we do are in the lower portion of the stick, regardless of brand. This part of the stick takes the most abuse, face offs, slashing, etc.

Their sales are up on last year.

Well, now that we know what the design looks like, when can we expect to see the new graphics "officially" revealed, JR?

A subtle hint would be just fine too. :)

*picture of S19 from far away*

I noticed that, thank you. See the bolded portion of my quote.

I meant more of an official press release with closer ups of the new graphics package, etc...

When you look at the leftover sticks we have from years past you'll notice a lot of 9ko's and Warrior Kroniks. Both sticks had a price tag of $239+ but something amazing happened when we dropped the price and put them all on closeout. We went from having an overwhelming # in stock to only a couple stragglers now. I'm not saying the S19 isnt a great stick, infact it felt great in my hands and visual looked pleasent to the eye. In my neck of the woods consumers just aren't willing to shell out that kind of coin for a stick. The $150-$185 sticks sell 100% better then the high end $200 sticks. When i said $239 i was talking about my area so i'm sure you'll see $250+ in some parts of New England!!!

JR, you said the flex on the s19 is more true to its number than the s17. Can we expect a 100 flex s19 to actually be a 100 flex without having to cut it?

Expected way more out of Heatley's arms.

Good looking stick though.

I saw Luke Schenn in a post game interview this season. With his biceps, I thought he was a stick man. Oh well, it's all in the wrists.............

The red version on the right looks good too.

ummm...what red version?

If you look very carefully at the stick on the very far LEFT, you can see red painted amongst the white.

mmm...i figured it was the dudes orange shirt reflecting on the stick

Mmmm, maybe. The orange is reflecting off of the "S19" label, and the part that's red certainly looks a lot darker.

Meh, who knows.

That blade was really hard to see when making passes to IMO.

Now that I look closer it looks like he is holding 2 sticks to me.

if you look at the top of the blade, i agree, but if you look at his left hand, it looks firmly wrapped around a single shaft.
