New sherwood stick line Txx ?

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a T80 with a Stastny curve in the 95 flex. I loved the dimensions of the shaft (boxier) and the way it feels in my hands. I've only used it in two games, though, so the jury is still out on performance and durability. It got a bit hacked up taking faceoffs the second game. That gave me some concern. I may end up wrapping the lower shaft in something to keep it from getting any worse.

I ran across some T90's at a LHS yesterday and the balance seemed way off on them. T80 was heavier in general. Didn't seem as impressive as the specs say. Just from a weight/balance standpoint though. Some old R8's next to them were much better balanced.

I haven't seen any of them yet.

In me opinion tho, no point if they are gonna sell them 200dolls a piece.

The strength of the T90 (and actually all their composite sticks since the advent of OPS) was to offer high end performance shit at a friendly price, at least if you were lucky enough to dodge the bad batches. That's why I respect and like this brand and that I'll always be pissed when I see the release of their products (especially sticks) passed over in silent, often eclipsed by fatass company's products (bauer, easton, etc).

I saw the Nexon's the other day, including the high end stick (Can't remember the model, but it goes for around $180). I'll keep this short - it's an awesome stick. It's light, balanced, true one piece, overall it felt great. I'm going to pick one up the next time I need a new stick. Considering the price, it looks like a steal when compared to the other 'high end' $200-250 sticks out there. It's the first Sherwood Composite I like. Even the lower priced models looked good. I think Sherwood hit a homerun with the 'Nexon' line.

can anyone give me comparison between AK27 and T90? especially its flex rating. i'm using 85 flex AK27 (2piece) currently. however i find that this shaft is stiffer than any one piece with the same flex.

Not necessarily a T90 but I am now using a T70 from a 2 piece AK27. The AK27 plays stiffer than rated so the T70 was softer and more balanced.

so i guess 95 flex T90 would be good? and does the chameleon stick tech actually works as advertised?

If the PP26 is stated Sakic equivalent, Is the Ryan/PP09 similar to the Bauer P106? It looks to be a little more heel than the PP26. Hard to tell how open it is.

PP09 Ryan is more like a P91A but a heel curve. It does not look as open as the PP26.

It is very straight because the "curve" is right at the heel. Slight wedge would be a good description.

The PP09 Ryan on the T90 is sort of a cross between the Easton modano/forsberg/zetterberg and the drury/parise. Not as open as the drury, but more open than the modano.

with the same lie as a the modano/forsberg/zetterberg

Yeah it's a 5 lie. Another description of the Ryan curve could be a less open Easton pro Styles curve.

That is a very accurate description. I was going to mention that I came from a Zetterberg curve, and wanted something a bit more open, and this is almost perfect. A little more mid heel would be ideal.

I thought I would share....

I just got my new custom T90 pro tapered blades yesterday. These are comparison pictures from the original sample and the final product I received. I am pretty happy with the way they feel and play, but they aren't exactly a direct copy of what I sent in. The profile shape is slightly different (see the toe shape) and the curve has less of a kink and is more gradual than the sample. The reason they aren't exact is Sherwood uses a bladder mold.

The feel of these is really nice. These are the IQ style blade. They don't feel exactly like the old TPS blades, but pretty darn close.

PS. Sorry for the pic size, but photobucket is being screwy

Malcb33 these sherwood customs are pretty much exactly what i use. I use warrior burrow blades and i toe curve the tip. Is there anyway you can sell me one to try and if I like it i can just use your mold thats on file since I believe once you have a mold the blades are cheaper to get..... Thanks bud

Heres what I use .....Burrows with a nice toe added by me

I would love to get the code for this blade pattern and order it to see if I like it. Looks exactly like the blade i make. I use a warrior burrows blade and curve the tip pretty close to where this blade is curved.

Does anyone know what the minimum order is for custom sticks from Sherwood is? If a person has a stick with a pattern that they would like to clone, can you cut the blade off and send it to them?

Check out the Sherwood catalog. There are a couple pages in it that discuss all the options and requirements which I don't remember off the top of my head.

ahh my favorite go to sticks... t90's are without a doubt the best bang for the buck. we were selling them for 99.99USD at my shop, and while i get it at cost, still a no brainer. I demo-ed two nexon n12's from my rep, one a pro stock two piece fused design, and one a full retail version. long and short i broke both, but the prostock blade broke in half and i was able to cut and heat and pull out the blade, leaving me with a pro stock tapered shaft. i cant recall where the n12 retail broke but i know that wasnt long either (couple months).

the t90's have great durability and performance given their price tag. the nexon n12 was definitely a higher performance stick and was awesome, but like most sacrificed durability.

i cannot wait to try out a t100 this season from my rep! looking forward to it!!
