but you got to look out for your own business and not get walked on if a company is granting certain rights to another shop that you should be getting as well.

That's exactly correct.

It's not like people are going to be lining up at the door to buy $850 skates. I know some of the stores I spoke with, who had to buy XX number of pairs from Bauer, are very concerned about being stuck with them as their market just doesn't see that type of clientelle.

Well, what if someone down the street can put his skates out a few days before? Some of that limited group of potential customers may go to the other guy and you lose out on the chance of selling those pairs.

I know I am going to buy a pair of Total One's for me and one100's for my daughter. If I was able to go somewhere on Apr 12 and get them, it would be too bad for the store that doesn't put them out on Apr 15th (doesn't pertain to me because I already verbally committed to a store, but just using that as a 'for instance').

He asked him straight up if the other shop had the new Easton out and the rep told him right there...NO.

What is the rep supposed to say though? If the shop is asking, of course he is going to say "No". But if he says to the rep "Hey, why is the other shop have their Easton stuff out already?" that's a totally different course.

What it indicates was that the rep had not given the other store permission to show the product and didnt know the other store was doing it. Either that or the rep straight up lied to this managers face, which I doubt.

The point was that the other store didnt have permission to be doing what it was, that is all.

Saw another pair today much closer than a "retail" version and in mint condition.

I have to say they look extremely well made

They are a good step above the one95 in term of building quality (at least visually).

Even the materials look better (outsole, alive thing, small leather strips on both sides at the top,...).

The pair had zero defect, it was quite incredible, every things fit together and perfectly adjusted.. nothing that juts out (reminds me swiss-made grafs)

Only trouble is the new tongue which really denotes with the entire rest of the skate, the entire system looks cheap and it doesnt look like in the good way at all..

One more thing they seem MUCH lighter than the pair of one95 that was next to me (at least in my hands) B)

#2. TOs have a ship date of 4/12. I checked my acknowledgement to confirm this.

Just got a call from The Hockey Shop saying they received them this morning. Now to wait the excruciating 66 hours until they can sell them.

I've been in skates that are killing my feet, and placed my order for customs 2/15.

If I can wait two months (so far), you can hold out for another 65+ hours.

I'm figuring since they were in so early (a week after they starting taking custom measurements for the TO's) and with so much lead time I'm figuring they should probably be in sometime this week.

I'm not really sweating it though, they'll get here when they get here nothing I can do but wait.

I ordered them from DarkStar50 so I know I'm in good hands so I'm not worried about it. I just want to start breaking them in so they're ready for my one league that starts in about 2.5 weeks.

Approaching 4 months on the boot. I'll wrap up the review in time for the skate launch.

not to be a pest JR, but with the skates lunching this week are you still planning to write the final chapter of your review?

I sure hope so since I'm certainly looking for it expecting that I'd have yet another very convincing reason for me to part with a small boat load of $ :))

There are already issues with this skate. Some of the stores that have gotten them have found QC issues. excess glue, rubbed off logos, marks all over the boot, sloppy holder mounting, outsoles coming apart.

Not to mention bulging rivets inside that create massive pressure points. Still a very nice skate though and the QC issues look no worse than any other boots I've ever shopped.

Best odds are this is because they moved the production in Thailand.

edit: moved it from China (not Canada), where they had experience in making hockey equipment

I just checked my inventory. None of the problems you mentioned here. Clean as a whistle and ready to go.

Its an isolated incident just like everyother skate, by everyother company, by where ever in the world they make the equipment (canada, china, america, wherever).

For some reason Bauer hater's gonna hate and always make them look like bad guys. If anything, there the best at CQ, at my shop we have most problems with Warrior, then Easton, RBK/CCM, THEN Bauer.

Checked ours too and didn't find anything. They look good to me.

Can't wait to leave the office tomorrow to get these babies baked. I work part time at a hockey store so I have a pair set aside for me already. When I tried them on last week they felt like slippers right out of the box. I can only imagine what they will feel like after I cook'em and get a skate in.

Obviously there are always problems.

I trust pmurphy17's judgement. Also, he probably ordered more skates than all of you guys combined, so there's a greater chance he'd see problems.
