Bauer Supreme TotalONE

Recommended Posts

My LHS was very concerned when he placed his order for the Total One's that he would struggle to sell any (aside from the pair I said I would buy).

When I went to pick up mine, he said he was shocked that he had already sold 6 pairs before mine in 2 weeks.

He has sold another 4 pairs since then, so that is 11 pairs total. He is very pleasantly surprised.

Vapor players won't switch to Supreme just because it's the latest, it is such a different skate. And they can get close to the same weight by just switching in the fusion runners.

I forget the numbers for Supreme vs. Vapor in the NHL but Vapor is way ahead , though Supreme is still way ahead of any other brand..

Blocked a shot in last nights game and the button snap on the Reflex tongue broke off. One in a million shot!

Outside of JR's solid review, I haven't seen a whole lot of overall thumbs up or thumbs down on the TO from users. I'm not necessarily asking if the skate is worth the price tage, but for TO owners, do you like the skate, meh it's ok, or no?

I am former x60 user that recently went to 11k's. I was going to buy the totalones but when I did the pencil test at my LHS, I failed miserably. The weird thing is I barely passed with my x60's and they aren't suppose to be as deep of a skate as the supreme line. Should I try a different type of supreme in the future?

I picked up my TOs the day they released (I was coming from a two year old pair of one75s), and they were definitely stiff initially. But, the more I skated in them the more I grew to love this skate. Not only does the stiffness make it possible to turn on a dime but the weight is truly noticeable as a game draws on or while doing sprints at practice. Love this skate!

I'm new to the forum but not new to hockey. TO's are a very good skate. I don"t know if beginners would notice the differences other than the weight but the overall package and performance pickup is noticeable deep in a game. I play in a fairly competitive league and speed is a life savior ( I'm only 5' 8", 190) so every little extra stride, edge control and weight reduction is useful for me. I came from Graf 705's and Easton SE 16 prior to TO's and these are a more complete skate overall.

I am extremely happy with the skates. I came from Bauer one95's, which were already a massive upgrade over the Graf G35's I had used for a couple of years.

The Total One's are another step above. Even though I was very happy with the one95's already, I find the performance of the TO's are even a bit better but the comfort for my feet was very noticable.

I coach rep hockey, play on a few very competitive teams, and I'm a skating/hockey instructor. So I am on the ice all the time and with coaching and instructing, I have to push the limits as much as I can to show the kids what they need to do.

I have never felt even a bit concerned that the TO's will not perform.

Very stable.

can anyone provide insight on when the fusion steel will be available as a stand alone item (if it already isnt). and if it would be "worth" it?

worth is obviously subjective, so an actual opinion on the product itself is appreciated.

No idea when the Fusion steel will be available. And without knowing the price, hard to say if it will be "worth it". It is light though, and the steel part is Bauer's usual excellent alloy, so other than being short and not having a whole lot of sharpens in it, it's a real nice runner.

shotty, may 15 a very cool package full of ls2, 2.1, and fusion steel was available to retailers. we haven't got ours yet, but, within a week the ones who bought it should have it in.

price tag as lumberjack said should be around that 120 mark. if you have the money/need the competitive edge, i'd say they are worth it. 27% lighter than ls2. But beer leaguers? probably not. Mainly juniors & HS & rich parents who don't care.

We received the Bauer steel skate display in the shop this week. If you can afford the $, buy the Fusion. Pull out your current LS2 and save them for backup/emergency situations, like a bad sharpening job at another rink!

I just replaced my Vapor 40s with the TotalOne. I have only skated twice with them but so far I really like them. The weight reduction is noticeable. They do not feel nearly as stiff as I thought they would, although so far I have only used the mid insert. I am going to try the stiff insert tonight and see how that feels. Not a criticism, if anything it is a good thing that you can dial in the stiffness you want. I also think the pitch difference is noticeable. I feel like I am on my heels much more than the Vapors. I'll probably get used to it though. I am going to give it a few more hours before I go with any heel lifts.

Sounds like a great idea, but at ~$115 I dunno if I'd ever allow someone I didnt trust to sharpen that pair of steel for me :P

I know not the most important aspect of the skate but is the totalONE made in Canada?

for what it's worth in terms of 'fit & finish' my Tailand made TOs seems to be made much better then my Canadian made One95.
