That's one ugly shoe

Recommended Posts

Just another in a long line.

Reebok's parent company, Adidas already has the Microbounce/Megabounce.

Asics has the Kinsei(wide heel, gel cushioning)

Nike has the shox as well as the air max 180/360.

Actually, all of them to date are incredibly nice if they fit your feet. The Kinsei is fantastic, albeit really pricey.

I work for FedEx so I'm on my feet a lot during the week and my favorite shoe is the megabounce. They seem to last a long time, the bounce doesn't wear out like shox. 2nd favorite is the air max 360.

The megabounce IS an awesome shoe, it even has customizable colored insoles that show through the heel(or at least did, and came with two different colors). The problem for me was width. The Kensei would be my choice out of all mentioned above but the looks are kind of bold for me. I've worn Nike for years and have a great history with them. I've had Air Max 180s and 360s as well as shox... I love them all but the 180/360 are fantastic. Shox are nice but they tend to build them a little thin under the ball of the foot.

The shox and air max crosstrainers aren't very comfortable, I'd prefer the edge trainers or frees.

Someone in my Math Class has them (Black and red ones) he says they help but I don't really think he runs much. They begin to look worn out from day to day use pretty quickly too.

I bought a pair last week. Very lightweight and comfortable. I've gone running in them three times thus far...no shin splints. Believe it or not, I'd always get shin splints with my previous shoes (New Balance). What I really like about this shoe is the upper. It's thin, light and just molds to my foot.

Granted, not the best looking shoe, I'll prob buy another pair, the customized ones though.

If they stop shin splints, then I will buy a pair in a heartbeat.

Dont take it as they are the only cause of my shin splints going away, I've also lost some weight. LOL

I don't really know why I get shinplints I stretch well and I am actually underweight, I also have pretty strong legs. It's always been a mystery to me haha.

Being overweight or underweight has nothing to do with shin splints. I've known of people who are skinny as a rail get shin splints and people fat as hell NOT get em'.

I don't think they look too horrible. Do they really actually help prevent shin splints and/or eliminate them entirely? Shin splints is pretty much the main reason I don't run very much. Every time I do, I get shin splints. I stretch for a good 20 minutes after running in place for 30 seconds, go for my run, stretch again when I get back, and then when I wake up the next day, shins are killing me.

You and I sir, are in the same boat.

Bringing this one back up. I picked up a pair recently. Most comfortable pair of shoes I've owned in a long time. I don't normally get shin splints, but lately my lower back has been in real pain while running, and these shoes have stopped that.

I am so getting a pair. But I like gimmicks lol. Funny they have Ovi rocking a Reebok shoe and not Crosby (I know they're the same company). I wonder if there will be an sc87 model lol.

EDIT: Although, I'm not sure how effective it would be as a training shoe if it makes your legs work less. Don't you want them to work harder?

I saw the Crosby Zigtech commercial at the bar last night.

I will say that I was a little bit disappointed that the shoe did not look like the rendering that is on the Reebok website. The midsole on the site looks like a smooth, semi-gloss rubber but when you see it in person it's more of a dull textured rubber.

Either way, comfortable shoes. I haven't worn anything else since I've bought them (aside from my skates and a pair of dress shoes on Easter Sunday)

Chadd out of curiosity, which Crocs do you wear?

I have a pair of godawful ugly bright orange ones I got as a gift from my parents (they were an inside joke from the Always Sunny episode where Frank's wearing orange Crocs). Actually like them.

Seems like I'll probably be getting a pair somewhat soon after all. Looks aside, if the shoe performs as well as it's been said here, it will be worth out and they are reasonably priced too I think.

Reebok has a history of ugly shoes

The Shaqnosis!!!!

and the Shawn Kemps

You forgot about the original Shawn Kemps/Kamikazes. I owned a pair of these in black with white zigzag.

Well, went running today with my old shoes, did a pre stretch and post stretch... I'm fully expecting my shins to be dead tomorrow as they're already hurting. What the hell.

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and try these on somewhere and probably pick them up. Anybody have any further input on these shoes?

Ive been wearing them to the gym for the past couple weeks, and love them. I have not really done any heavy running in them, as i have a heel injury that is still healing...but I can say that i can do more in these sneakers with the injury than in any other of my sneakers. So comfortable, so light. I am already thinking of buying another pair...the customizer on the Reebok website is tempting me.
