jrhky36 1 Report post Posted March 20, 2010 the marker will come off if you use goof off, or other citrus based cleaner. as far as getting back at them don't do it b/c it could esclate things and that is not good for the work place. but do let them know that you didn't like what they did.the marker will come off if you use goof off, or other citrus based cleaner. as far as getting back at them don't do it b/c it could esclate things and that is not good for the work place. but do let them know that you didn't like what they did. I did the same thing to my little brothers once, i autographed their tape jobs. They were pretty pissed because they were out of tape at the time and had to go to sticks and pucks with my Herbie Hancock on the backhand. :P

shotty 7 Report post Posted March 20, 2010 i was thinking pink too.back in tha day, when sticks cost $40, we used to saw a tiny little notch on the back of a teammates stick, and then during warm ups it would break.

Ogie Oglethorpe 14 Report post Posted March 20, 2010 Sticks aren't permanent (they break) and you could take it off with cleaner. Minor prank that might end up starting a new ritual with you if it turns out to be "lucky". Only thing that would make me mad is if the marker wore off on my jersey or gloves, but still.... almost endearing. Plus, makes for an interesting side story on the bench should someone notice. You can trick the anecdote up, talk about how hot one of the chicks are who wrote on it, whatever.
Wolfpack_1986 154 Report post Posted March 21, 2010 NO NO NO NO NO NO NO to all options. acetone, brake cleaner, goof off can have unintended consequenses. they're far to aggressive, and suck to breath the fumes in....sharpie comes off with simple rubbing alcohol (isopropyl alcohol), it's a much more reasonable solution. it shouldnt affect grip coatings or the paint job. jarret_g 5 Report post Posted March 21, 2010 Sand in the stick sounds like a good idea, in reality, not really. Guys on my old team did it to a teammate before a game and he didn't notice. During the game the cap came out from the top of his stick and then he lost his stick. Sand went all over the ice, what a mess. Obviously we couldn't play with it on the ice, it'd mess up everyones blades. We had to stop the game, zamboni came out and got rid of it, and then continued. It was pretty annoying.
