Damn I was waiting for one of the big teams to mess up, but I didn't think it'd be Spain, that's awesome.

Chritiano Ronaldo is arguably among the most talented forwards in the world, yet he is also, again arguably, the biggest diver in the world. He is such a whiny little bitch it makes me sick.

And people wonder why is not as big as it could be in USA.... Because it's a pussy sport played by a bunch of whiny little bitches.

Well that's a pretty big generalization. Most are whining pussies and unfortunately they get most of the attention. Quite a few are honest player. However just like in hockey, you do what you can to win (embelish) but since football has much more judgement calls its easier to do and easier to fget away with. I miss ronaldo when he was with united, I missed his skill. I don't miss his bullshit diving. Atleast epl refs are idiots and never called it.

I was shocked to see Spain lose. Especially with the way Spain was dominating the entire game. The shots were what, 23-11?

Fernando Torres is still a beast, though.

A beast who couldn't find the back of the net despite numerous chances. I thought for sure Xabi Alonso's missile off that corner was going in though.

That was a damn nice shot, for sure.

Gotta give props to switzerland's keeper, he played extremely well for them.

i still tend to follow the mentality; "real sports dont have ties." :P

The EPL is the best league I feel. At least when it comes to integrity and sportsmanship. Diving is not called very often simply because it occurs much less in the EPL.

When it comes to international play why is it is so tolerated. I would LOVE to see more yellows for diving. Honestly. If they enforced a yellow card fro diving then no player would take the chances on the silly BS dives they currently take.

I had begun to ignore the vuvuzelas, then I was watching France/Mexico today and for 15 secs, they went silent and you could hear the game and the fans cheering/chanting, it was beautiful, and then buzzzzzz!!!!! And now I hate them even more.

I had a couple laughs from Rick Reilly's article today on the world cup,

The EPL is without question the best league, which is a pain for me to say because I'm a Serie A fan myself. The reason diving is not enforced though is because it's too much of a judgement call and a lot of times players may actually be falling, but embellishing it so much that it seems like diving. In reality though, they are just trying to do whatever they can to win ("if you're not cheating, you're not trying") by trying to force free kicks and card players out of games.

I'm starting to recognize this too. At one point, Dempsey went down and I'm calling him out for flopping. Cut to a close replay and he just stepped on the side of the ball and tripped, I could see how that would be tough to all.

Mali. Apparently they don't have soccer there. WTF was the disallowed goal for? Bradley deserved a penalty kick before Adu even scored.

They just interviewed the coach, he doesn't even know what the ref called on the play. They don't have to identify the foul, they just have to say there was one? That's ridiculous.

Where the hell is this ref from? He's f***ing terrible!

Well, the NBA season was over and he needed a paycheck over the summer.

He wouldn't even tell the players who it was on.

The reffing has been pretty awful in both the games today, especially in the Germany-Serbia game. The ref handed out an absurd amount of yellow cards and then suddenly went blind for the rest of the game. As for the vuvuzelas, I wonder if the people bowing them are aware of how much they're reinforcing a certain stereotype.

Maybe I'm in a daze today, but I don't follow that one.

Donovan mentioned that in the post-game interview, just embarrassing really, his first World Cup game but there were several mysterious calls, even the British announcing crew was onto it.

I figured it was Jim Joyce's other hobby...

Horrible display by England. USA controls their won fate.

That call in the final minutes of the USA match was atrocious. WTF was he looking at, or NOT looking at. USA, could have had either a goal or PK. One of our guys literally was tackled with both the defenders arms around him bear-hugging him.
