Yeah EQM is nice when you look at those helmets.... no one posted a picture of cleaning everyone's dirty ass laundry, or not sleeping for more than an hour when you have three games in three nights, or getting torn into by the coach when the carpet isn't vacuumed. You have to truly be %100 percent in love and dedicated to it, if not you will be a shitty eqm. The good does outweigh the bad though. Anyways...back to gear sightings.

EQM is a job, not a beauty contest. devilsrule714 is a student at a D1 school working as an assistant. His first job will be to peel all the stickers off 30+ Bauer buckets when he gets back. Then mount all the cages. That is only the start........

How does a person go about becoming involved as an equipment manager or even getting hired/noticed for the job?

Basically you have to know someone to start even lowend, then to get promoted thru the ranks you either have to be god or know people.

Still trying for Jr a... ain't happening anytime soon cuz I don't have many connections, tho I out know and out perform many eqm in ushl. I love it when their eqms can't profile their skates the way they want them, come to me, give me a half hour and I do it perfect for them first skate.... do all orders n stuff too. Shit sucks, sublit if u ever know someone doing openings that are legitimately instead of predetermined you'd be awesome if u could let me know. I love the time earlier this year with a ushl reek I went from having the job, to defiantly giving the option to show what I know, to an interview, to having the position be filled before anything. Eqm hiring is bullshit.

Be careful what you wish for...

If married, you might not be for long. If you have kids, you miss A LOT by being away. Also, doing your taxes is UGLY, as you are supposed to report how much of your salary was made in each city you traveled to. Hours are VERY long and you have to start at the very bottom (usually) and be in it for the long haul to make it to the top.

I've been working three to four jobs since I can remember and all through college and still with a full-time job I work two side jobs. I have no problem working hard or long hours. I think it would be a blast and a challenge at the sametime. I'm 26 and dont see kids or marriage anywhere in the near future...

I know it's been said but, the "reebok" on the gloves make them look cheap. I like the Reebok branding on all the other gear but I think should have kept for vector logo on the gloves.

Bauer can spell out Bauer but Reebok can't spell out Reebok? Uh, sorry but that doesn't make sense.

Never said they couldn't spell it out, I'm just saying it doesn't look good IMO. Maybe it's because I've always seen Bauer spelled out but only recently have I seen Reebok. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet.
