I have seen a pretty large increase in CCM sticks. At least from watching the Hawks preseason games I have. Thought that was pretty interesting. I know it was posted a few pages back but Hossa is decked out in CCM now minus the gloves.

I skated with a guy over the weekend wearing the prototype cl's. He loved em. Has had them for a while. These were the all black ones that JR said would be dressed different when they were finally released. I think he had played chl or echl.

Could it be there is more people who play in the AHL during the preseason? The AHl is basically all Reebok or CCM.

NHL teams have an equipment credit with CCM/Reebok, so for camp/preseason a lot of players use it as their only choice.

Is there a difference in boots of the new CCM U+ CL skate based on the different trim colors?

Just curious as Ive seen straight black, red, blue, yellow, so on. Im assuming it's just player preference or something along those lines.

Curious.

Who was using the easton shaft with wood blade in the first pic?

Some rec player. Members of the police and fire department had an "alumni game" before the Lightning practice and they stayed on ice for Lightning warmups until the pucks hit the ice.

What about teams that have zero red, blue, or yellow in color schemes?

CCM seems to be focusing on red, since its on the new U+ CL skate at retail, as well as the liner in the glove, so that would probably be my guess if not a custom team colour.

Gotcha! I was going to say, that blade looked beat! I was guessing any pro still using wood blades would be replacing them every game.

Looks like Stastny could be using a OPS.

Check out the Avs/Stars gallery on nhl.com today... first pic shows it's still wood. It looks like a whittled hunk of lumber, lol.

Saw the EQ50 today at one of the LHS. The weights look cool, but I wonder how well that area might hold up. At stock length, it felt slightly blade heavy, which isn't great for a stick that touts itself as being purely balanced for the control freak. The shaft is more squared than the SE16's and the flex also felt noticeably stiffer than the same flex on the SE16. I'm not a huge fan of the graphics, as it still resembles the ST and is an awful lot of black for the Easton stick line.

Wasn't he using an S19 for a while last year? Specifically the later part of the season.

Not sure. They made a point of mentioning it last night on TSN, so I thought it was new.

That's weird, because EQ50s off the shelf should actually have too much weight at the top of the shaft. Uncut, the stick is only supposed to use two weights, but all four weights come in the end plug.

I was just going by feel at full length and with my bottom hand about 8-10" below where I'd normally stickhandle. I was also comparing it to the SE16s right next to them.
