Stealth Broke

Recommended Posts

Well is this a hell of a story. I was playing a travel game up in North Jersey, and we lost the game 9-7 (obviously a goaltenders duel), and I played a good game, had 3 goals and two assists. I am the type of player who everybody hates, I get under peoples skin, and pick at people and usualy make them take penalties. So at the end of the game, after we lost, I was skating past their bench to mine to pick up my extra stick, and a kid buttended me in the helmet, so I take a HUGE swing at him, like I was chopping down a tree with an axe. So their bench clears and so does ours, big fight, blah blah. So I feel somebody tugging at my stick, and they got it. And as I was getting pumbled by 20 guys, I heard a huge snap, and I was like, those mother... so I saw my stick on their bench, cracked, and the other end hanging off. So some dick from the other team says, heres your stick, and actualy hands it to me, so I say thanks, and without delay crack it over his head, and the other end flew off and hit somebody else on their team in the head. I will take the 1 game suspension.

That is the greatest thing I have ever heard. I might need to make that my new signature.lol

But on a serious note sorry to hear about your Stealth, sounds like you have a Matthew Barnaby personailty when you play hockey.

What team were you playing against?

AA 18U blizzard. We played them at skylands, but their home rink is the poconos rink, but its flooded. And the kid was a devils fan, I saw him after the game and he had a devils hat on

Stick over the head should be intent to injure with a minimum 30 day suspension under USA Hockey guidelines.

As for the rest with the "under the skin" and how many points you had, who cares? I hope you didn't hurt your elbow patting yourself on the back.

Well if they had two level 3 refs at the game and not a level one ref there with a level 3 ref, and the ref knew what he was doing and made one of the many calls in the game from the spearing to the buttending at the end of the game, maybe it wouldnt have happeand.

According to USA Hockey scheduling guidelines, both refs would have to be level 3 to work the game. Schedulers can get in trouble for not assigning games to qualified refs.

Ah, the old "but they did this to me first" argument. Sorry, kid, that doesn't fly.

I'm thinking thats a whole lot of fuss to be making over one person at the end of a game.

Crap like this goes both ways. I am also thinking the stick breaking may have been a response to other stuff that may have not been mentioned.

Skating off the ice with your mouth shut and broken stick in hand was the way to go.

Heck if your gonna talk crap thats part of the deal.

that story is funny but i would have waited intill you played them again and i would have took down his number and i would have just killed the kid everytime he touched the puck i would have stalked him like burtuzzi did to that one guy .

Temper, Temper, You are gonna need to control that in later life bloke otherwise you'll get some juggeraut 10x bigger than you pissed one day and I would not like to be you in that position let me tell you.

On a lighter note I broke a guy's Synergy a few weeks back when he cut accross me in an inline game and my sweep check was caught by another played and whipped viciously up then down. Needless to say the chap was quite peeved and altough he looked like he wanted to fight he was too busy whinging and picking up all the pieces in a hope of putting them back together again...;)

PS: So he pulls out his spare Synergy later on and wouldn't come NEAR me with it, lol.

we're all talking about USA Hockey and refs..but if any kid i coached cracked a kid over the head with a stick, it'd be the last game he played for me...

I's safe to say most coaches are not like that around me. I've benched kids for less than that though.

well vapor, sorry to say, but after what your actions are while you play hockey, im glad your stick was snapped in half. like some of these guys have said, you're lucky you only got one game, and not the rest of your playing career. i don't care what a guy does to you, swinging a stick at somebody's head is unacceptable. this is coming from a player, and a former midgett aa coach. like what was said earlier, it would be your last game for me as well.

He didnt snap it though, the other guy did it on purpose.....

So that excuses a kid of two hand hacking another player?? As vapor described it, he appears to have enjoyed himself when doing it. Sounds like a fun league, had I been a coach I woulda tapped my biggest goon on the team on the shoulder and whispered Vapor's number in his ear and sent him loose.

Edit:Am I also the only one who thinks this situation was overdramatized??? "So with 20 guys pummeling on me" and "So, I said thanks and cracked it over his head". You must be one tough and HUGE SOB for TWENTY guys to be "pummeling on you". So tough in fact that you have to swing a stick. Real tough guy.

I agree Chadd....coaches let it go, they let the inmates run the asylum...at the beginning of a season, I let my players know the 1/2 things i won't fault them for if they turn around and drop the gloves...and that is the only time I'll let them slide.then again..i don't coach much nowadays..hmm...

me...growing up..i was an irritable type of player but had the patience of a swede..i'd take it all, dole it out mostly legally....and laugh as you went to the box and i went back to doing my thing..imo..that's when its most effective..the 2 years i spent polishing my rep as a "clean" player was a godsend

haha am i the only one that thinks who cares? he obv exaggerated the story a bit but its really not a big deal. does it really matter to you guys if he cracked his stick over a kids head? im glad no1s said this yet but point to the scoreboard and skate away doesnt really work too well if you have no more teeth...that being said even though it probably wasnt as dramatic as you made it seem you shoulda just fought the kid insteada hittin him with the stick...it made for a great story though haha i lvoed it.
