Evidently Ovechkin signed an endorsement deal with Nike. $$$$$$$$$$

From Tarik el-Bashir...

“I can confirm that Alex has signed a long-term global partnership with Nike,” Abrutyn said. “Alex is going to be supporting all of the products that Nike makes — apparel, footwear, performance apparel, casual wear, accessories and other elements of the Nike family of products. So he will be wearing their performance product when he’s playing and practicing, when he’s training and in his lifestyle.”

4500, they still sell them brand new.

Indeed, I had one come in earlier this week. None of the newer stuff fits me quite as well, though the Bauer 5100 was a close 2nd.

It has the old Bauer markings, the Box around the wordmark and the old logo on the side. This helmet is pre-nike merger and separation.

What he said. That helmet is like 10 years old. They even had the "Flying B" on them. I miss old Bauer stuff. Well, except the once piece fingers on their gloves...

take a look at bauer's opening video on bauer.com. "This year will be different" and it features the apx skates with yellow laces.

pretty much solidifies Ovi going to Bauer....not that yellow laces are somehting that he started, but it's pretty synonomous. i can't think of anyone else who uses them; not sure if Jagr is still going to be in Grafs and their yellow laces.

Just watched it. The vid screams Ovi, especially since the yellow laces are the first thing they show, not the skate.

NHL 12 was released early in Europe, and the new Warrior helmet is in it.

Go to about the 31 minute mark of this video, and you can see it. It's called the "Koretex." Looks funky, like a cross between a Bauer and a Reebok. There's a pair of skates later in the video I can't quite make out either. New Reeboks maybe?

From the front it reminds me of an original Bauer 5000 with a more futuristic look, slightly glossier too.

You can tell how glossy a helmet is from a video game rendering?

Koretex??? Looked all over the internet for some type of meaning, nothing. Weird name but I will wait for Warrior to discuss the helmet in further detail and the reason for its name.

If this is indeed an actual helmet I would guess Koretex is a play on cortex as in cerebral cortex.
