I dont care about weight. I have NEVER seen a pair of stock top end shoulder pads grace the shoulders of anyone from ECHL to the pros. Cap height is the biggest problem and is usually modified. But hey I am not trying to help a hockey store sell gear so im not going to tell a kid to run out and get himself a 150$ set of armor, that isn't going to save his life. Of course its light, it better be, Let me give you some of the sewn together stuff out there being used by pros and then that thing and you tell me what allows you to be more mobile.

If you want to be a gear whore that is fine. IMHO Function means more to me than the latest top of the line pair of pads. There are a number of things to consider in buying gear. CCM should have stuck with the one piece cap.

Oh and Chadd you cant delete posts fast enough when someone says something too you can you? Can you name the Partner and the Law Firm working with Bauer as a client? Please keep deleting my posts, then you can just get freebies from all the companies not starting with a B.

Squat, your last post has a lot of flaws. One: A lot of pro's are rocking ccm u+(current gen) shoulders, or warrior projekts, albeit modified.

And as for your shot at Chad, you chimed in with a skewed opinion, and an affection for "CAPS LOCK!". So trying to chirp after a post and some deleted posts of yours is kinda weak. Just my $.02.

Also can't wait for CCM's U+CL.

The cap on the CL is the same cap that is on the V10, which was quite popular in the NHL last year.

You're just spewing at this point.

As for your last point...whatever point you are trying to make has zero bearing on our relationship with manufacturers.

So, I'm intrigued; what do you do? You seem to have no qualms hiding behind an username.

I delete garbage posts from people that don't have the slightest clue what they're talking about. Oh, and Joe did send me some Brooklynite sticks.

No, I think Chadd is trying to say is your opinion about the shoulder pads is way off base. His use of capital letters was in response to your use of capital letters. If you watch the various videos about the new shoulder pads being introduced by CCM etc you would see the pads are extremely steamlined and very light weight.

thank you, I guess it was too subtle for some people

I really don't see the NHLPA objecting to new equipment which is highly protective to the wearer but also isn't so armoured that in a collision the pads could add damage to either party in a collision. I think the true focus of all partes at all levels of hockey should be "player safety" which is a pretty broad topic but it encompasses everything from pads to not hitting a player in a vulnerable position.

I, for one, am thrilled that you've jocksniffed your way into enough dressing rooms to make that a meaningful claim. You'll be an invaluable resource on this board.

Out of curiosity, what shoulders was Michel Petit wearing in the 82-83 season with the Canucks?

But hey I am not trying to help a hockey store sell gear so im not going to tell a kid to run out and get himself a 150$ set of armor, that isn't going to save his life.

The guy in the Italian pro league who died from a shot to the sternum would disagree with you, as would anyone who knows a damn thing about human anatomy. And that's only on the subject of lethal injury.

Of course its light, it better be, Let me give you some of the sewn together stuff out there being used by pros and then that thing and you tell me what allows you to be more mobile.

So your solution is that everyone should hire their own EQM? I spend a fair bit of time working on my own gear, but it's completely unreasonable to expect everyone to do that, and there are still things that can't be done efficiently without a cylinder-arm machine.

Oh and Chadd you cant delete posts fast enough when someone says something too you can you? Can you name the Partner and the Law Firm working with Bauer as a client? Please keep deleting my posts, then you can just get freebies from all the companies not starting with a B.

Anyone can give you that name: it's on the filing, which is publicly available.

I saw the CCM protective line today. Until you see it, feel it, hold it and try it on, you have no idea what you're talking about by looking at a picture. Kudos to CCM for thinking and producing something new that is truly different and innovative.

Not really new but I got to try on the E700 helmet today. Absolutely amazing. More comfortable than the 11k's by far, which was my former #1. Plus its 30$ cheaper here in Canada. Dec. 1st can't come fast enough. Also got a slight demo on the new Mako stick and it too is beautiful. And very light :)

Exactly, the shoulders are unlike anything else I've ever seen.
