eBay idiot, or not?

Didn't know Kane used retail skates....oh wait he doesn't

I sent this message to the seller:...pwnt

I'd hate to break it to you, but these are not Patrick Kane's skates. He's a size 8 shoe which would make these huge for him. These are retail skates purchased from a store. Pro Stock models do not have the size sewn onto the tongue nor are they made in Thailand like those skates would suggest. Every NHL player worn skates have double stitching while these are single. I would suggest getting paperwork or selling these as used skates for MUCH less.

So he replied back:

"I'm afraid I don't see your level of expertise. You have no game worn items on your ebay site. I will do more research, but I know these came from a very reliable source. If I find they are not what I was told they are, I will remove them from my store. Until then I thank You for your concern. "

And then he sent another reply:

"I have removed the listing, based on doing very simple research, which I should have done immedeately. I discovered in all the pictures, the triangle behind the shoelases is red, these are black. Thank You for bringing it to my attention."

I told him no problem, just looking out for another seller and told him to check my feedback as I've sold Pro Stock equipment myself including X:60 skates last week.

And his last reply hahahaha:

Too Late, I got these over a year ago and the guys long gone, looked just like Justin Bieber. Thanks and I apologize for sounding rude., Ray

but does anyone remember him ever using Bauer 4 Rolls?

He never did and that seller picked those up off eBay because I remember them going up and they sold for about $160-180.

Good on him for looking into it and taking them down, though. IMO that deserves removal from the idiot list ;)

I won an auction on Ebay for a right handed Easton RS. The pics showed that it was an RS with the tags and also showed the elliptical taper. I received a left handed stick that was basically wrapped in plastic, with the blade wrapped w/ cardboard around it and packaging tape all around it. wtf I haven't opened it but it clearly not a RIGHT Handed EASTON RS. I haven't even unwrapped it but I can feel the taper is definitely not elliptical. The seller does have a 100% positive feedback rating. I'm hoping that the seller just messed up the shipping. I'm waiting 1 more day before I file a case. Has anyone ever on this board gone through this? I haven't gone through this whole thread yet but will as soon as I'm done posting this. This is very frustrating.

EDIT - theres waaaay too many pages so if anyone has any suggestions or has been through this please give me some input.

have you contacted the seller to discuss it? I once won an auction for an Eastern all-star jersey, the year it was in Minnesota and the guy accidentally sent me a Flyers jersey instead. as a Penguins fan I was horrified but when I contacted him he put money in my Paypal account to cover return shipping and shipped out the correct one as soon as he got it back.

I actually tried contacting him twice. Once to get tracking info (no response) and right after I received the stick to let the seller know I received the wrong item. I received it yesterday. Should I wait a week like Ebay suggests? I think that's too long IMO. I was gonna wait til at least after the weekend since the seller didn't even reply to me about the tracking info. What do you suggest?

Keep writing away to the seller daily and in your first email give them 48 hours to respond or you will file a formal complaint, then remind them of the deadline in furutr emails you send. Most sellers will usually get back to you with the 48 hour ultimatum, and if they don't you have a 'paper trail' which ebay will use in deciding your case. Similar things have happened to me, a lot more than usual lately, and that's how I handled it. It has worked every time.

I'd wait a few more days but not more than that. I won an auction for a clear Cascade helmet (the one before the M11) and the seller never shipped it. I waited to long to open a case and lost my right to. it was only $20 but still hated eating that money.

Ziggy's is such a rip off

That shop was great to deal with before Ziggy passed away. Ever since they have price gouged and become almost impossible to deal with. Before he died I could always call in and inquire about certain items, and if they did not have it he was more than willing to "ask around" his connections to see if it could end up in a UPS truck with my name on it. Granted, I've given up the pro-stock game, but even just trying to call to inquire about some little things has been a PITA and IF they are willing to help the prices have been absurd.

RIP Ziggy

So, the seller finally replied to me. He's away on business. He said there must've been a mix up in the shipment as he dropps off the sticks at his shipper's place. He doesn't do the actual packaging and shipping. He said to send the stick back and he'll look into what happened. He's also going to refund 100% of my money + the shipping. Now should I just send it back because there is a paper trail now or contact ebay first?

I say send it back and give the guy a chance to make it right. keep a tight track on the dates though and don't miss the deadline to open a case.

Yeah, I actually just got off the phone with ebay and they have the whole convo on file. They also said just send it back and make note of the tracking info. Thanks for all the help guys. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Probably not an idiot http://www.ebay.com/itm/130537578569?var=430023004466&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

No LHS in my country carries these. Do they fit like all Bauer Vapor skates do? Do they need baking? How many minutes? What temperature? How stiff they are? Are these stock laces crap? Anyone custom ordered these? Any long term reviews? :) Hahaha
