tburns517 3 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I'm looking to spend roughly $20 on a pair of performance skate socks. I've been looking around online and I can't seem to narrow it down to a certain brand. I'll post a few of the socks I have been looking at below. Are the cut-resistant/protective socks really worth the extra cash? My skates tend to fight a bit tight, so I'm not looking for anything too thick.http://www.totalhockey.com/product/Hockey_Elite_Liner_Socks/itm/16114-41/?mtx_id=0http://www.totalhockey.com/product/Premium_Performance_Skate_Socks/itm/9026-43/?mtx_id=0http://www.totalhockey.com/product/Dynasty_AX2_Performance_Compression_Socks/itm/11860-43/?mtx_id=0http://www.totalhockey.com/product/Pro-Tech_Knee_Length_Socks/itm/7414-43/?mtx_id=0http://www.totalhockey.com/product/Stealth_Advanced_Skate_Socks/itm/6262-43/?mtx_id=
mickz 107 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 My two favorites right now are the Swiftwick Twelve ($24.99 MSRP) and Bauer Premium skate socks.

By far my favourite. I've got a pair of Bauer elite performance socks which cost me $45 and the synergy socks that cost around $15 and I always end up choosing the Eastons over the Bauers. I've got a pair of Bauer elite performance socks which cost me $45 and the synergy socks that cost around $15 and I always end up choosing the Eastons over the Bauers. The Eastons were free with my Makos. I also have a pair of the top of the line Bauer socks and still prefer the Easton.
Stewie 721 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I've tried underarmour, elite, two Bauer models, but my favorite pairs are DryMax and swiftwick 12 socks.
A2rhino 63 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I agree Swiftwick for sure. I've tried many and these are the way to go. Extremely comfortable, very good compression and very durable. I have not used anything since
mojo122 538 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I'm waiting to hear some feedback on the new Bauer performance socks with the 37.5 tech. If the 37.5 fabric works anywhere as good as it does with the shirt that might be a game changer for me.

laserrobottime 149 Report post Posted August 10, 2014 I'm a huge fan of the Elite Bamboo socks. They're tacky when wet, they dry quickly, and don't smell funky when they dry out.

If the 37.5 fabric works anywhere as good as it does with the shirt that might be a game changer for me.I'm very interested in this. I'm looking at a few of the Bauer shirts and socks with 37.5 technology. How drastic or significant is the difference in comparison to other brands? I currently use Nike, Under Armour, and Reebok shirts, which aren't specifically meant for hockey, but I'm still curious what your thoughts are.

kingofnooyork 30 Report post Posted August 11, 2014 IMO it depends on what kind of texture you like. Personally i like something that feels a little more natural. I've tried a few and these are my 2 favorite pairs. They both wick sweat away nicely and have great traction with the inside of the boot. They are very durable as well. The reeboks are slightly thicker and have a looser weave. Both are quality socks though.http://www.hockeygiant.com/rbk14kpersktssr.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjwsJyfBRC729Oy5Pf26ekBEiQAYtd9QdJZzQ5Md7Pcg1rKbPUNqJL1fqrrFI09CagO_dkaSa4aAkJc8P8HAQhttp://www.drymaxsports.com/hockey.php

qmechanic 17 Report post Posted February 7, 2015 Does anyone have a link to where you can buy the Swiftwick Twelve socks mentioned in this thread?
Cosmic 178 Report post Posted February 7, 2015 I have been using the 37.5 Bauer socks with the skate cut protection- Elite or whatever they are called. The socks and my feet are dry after games, and I am a sweating machine ordinarily. The liner of my skates is a bit damp, but nothing extreme.
stick9 896 Report post Posted February 7, 2015 Another thumbs up to 37.5 socks, NG Premium performance I think. Great sock.
GunRunner 28 Report post Posted February 7, 2015 I've used the Bauer Premium socks and the Easton Synergy socks and neither of them compare to the Smartwool socks here http://www.smartwool.com/socks/ski/mens-phd-ski-ultra-light-socks.html?swatch=Black I used to skate barefoot in my old Bauer 4000 skates and it is difficult to do in these new skates so the Smartwool has been the best sock for me.
