  1. AIREAYE, those skates you see are my pride & joy, a pair pro stock Bauer 1000s and no I did not get those from the Islanders sale, they were actually purchased at the pro shop at South Windsor arena (CT).
  2. Here's my haul from the the New York Islanders Pro Shop. Frans Nielson Warrior Franchises, RBK shell. (The helmet is actually from Worcester Sharks sale) Again, I can't say how helpful the guys at the Isles pro shop were, def recommend them.
  3. Drunken and immature neighbors who wake up the entire block and still don't stop even after the cops come. Forcing me to get out of bed and threaten vigilante justice to get it to stop.
  4. Loud neighbors keeping me up all hours of the night. And the subsequent next day when I need to be super productive and am as tired as shit.
  5. Newest (but oldest) pair of gloves I picked up...Darkstar will probably appreciate these. Cooper 5 Rolls These are brand new (tags still on, palms untouched) in 2010 and they're probably from the early 90's.
  6. Insane/unrealistic expectations at work...Getting asked, 'to do more, with less'. Ugh, vent over.
  7. Design aesthetics: Oh dear lord, are these gloves a thing of beauty. Growing up loving the look of the original Cooper Techniflex, the X:60 draws a lot from the glove it evolved from. In a market dominated by the simple '4-roll design', the X:60 displays a fresh look w/ an angular 4-roll and a non traditional cuff roll that looks like a love child of the original Techniflex with elements of the recent Vapor Line of gloves. If I have any issues with the aesthetics, its a small minuscule issue with the 'piping' that goes down through the middle of the glove and then down the hand on the index finger. I am a much bigger fan of keeping the colors solid versus adding in that small color element. Fit: Coming from the Nike/Bauer 4 Rolls and Pro Easton 4 rolls, I was skeptical about the 'taper' fit that goes with the Vapor line of gloves. I prefer a loose fitting glove with a big open cuff and had previously given up on Mission model Commander, Lieutenant, and Wicked 1 gloves b/c I could not get used to the more snugger fitting glove. With the X:60 your hand fits very comfortably, its tight, but not too tight. The cuff does employs a nice taper making it a wide enough opening to offer a lot of wrist movement/flexibility that I thought I would lose with the snug fit. Design features: I must say I expected the Digital palm to be a bit 'tackier' but it still holds a great grip on the stick. Normally I'd go with a candy cane tape job on the shaft of my sticks, but I've done away with that with the X:60. Durability also seemed like it would be an issue on this palm, but I've been using the X:60 about 3 times a week since May and have no holes/issues. Another nice feature would the be the thumb, its very articulate and gives you a solid grip. The other design features are the Nylon construction and the inside liner, both are very quick to dry and the palm is not an issue if you happen to get that wet or if its damp from a previous games use. Protection: I haven't had any run ins where I could point to and say, yeah this glove is really protective or lacking. Considering the 'Pro' moniker this glove carries and the Poly Inserts and Dual Density Foams, I'd say the X:60 protection does the job. I'll update this once I take a good hard whack on the hand. Weight: Hardly noticeable, the X:60 fit and weight does a better job than any glove I've used to make the weight not even enter your mind when the glove is on your hand. Durability/Build quality: Again, 3 times a week since May and no issues on the palm. The same can be said for the Nylon construction as well, no rips, tears, pulls anything. Very well made glove. Conclusion: Very close to glove perfection in my eyes. I know a lot guys would probably stay away from the X:60 considering the tighter fit that comes along with the taper design, but its not an issue. The glove is designed to move with your hand, not restrict it, I think the X:60 could win over a lot of converts from the standard 4-roll users. In a lot of ways the X:60 took the concept of the Techniflex gloves and modernized the materials and improved the fit to produce an excellent glove. I already own 2 pairs of X:60s and will probably pick up another just so 10 years from now I'm not trying to track them down like I've been for so long with the Cooper Techniflex (although I still search for em, ha). That says it all, I intend to use the X:60 as my go to glove for a long time to come. Overall: 9.5 out of 10
  8. those are amazing, nice job. Just curious Did you go with the heel lifts instead of dremmelling?
  9. I still got one of those AGs with the Red Graphics stashed away at the parents house. You've inspired me Mack. Next time home I'm digging it out and gonna give it a go with a present day composite blade see how the 'ol shaft performs.
  10. I'd love to find one of the original T-Flex Graphite Shafts, the Maroon colored shaft with grey and black graphics.
  11. Mack, I'm assuming the Flux-capacitor was involved with acquiring those Grip Lites. Insane pick up.
  12. Nice, tapered wood blades, finally they brought them back. Gonna have to stock up on some of those.
  13. You're forgetting the 1300 model as well which were the nylon version of the 1350. I agree with Mack, 1350 were my first 'glove love' as well.
  14. Wow that must be the 'legal' version of Hull's curve. I had a bunch of them back in the day (still have one left), and on my hull's they are similar to that with a toe curve on the end. The original z-bubbles (metal matrix) with those blades were one of the greatest blade/shaft combo's I've had. I'll try to get a pick up of the Hull blade I have when I get home.
  15. Pure hockey has them if you are interested.
  16. Not sure...heard from a friend Pure Hockey had these, then heard someone called and Pure hockey said they had none in stock. Gonna have to head over there sometime and confirm what the deal is.
  17. Original post deleted...sorry
  18. did they have any other pairs when you were there? thanks! The pair that I got were the last pair Wesco had in the white/red color scheme.
  19. New Gloves, picked them up at Wesco a few weeks back. 15 inch, 4 rolls in white and Red (don't be fooled they are not BU, label said they were for South Kent School)
  20. Ahh, you got it JR! I mentioned those Revolver Chassis back in the thread I just couldn't remember the name of them. Hop in the way-back machine and have a look! Revolver Chassis
  21. Adding to the Mission innovation (and I know its roller stuff, but still): Vibe Chassis 714 Glove with removable/adjustable cuffs (although I liked these gloves a lot, never caught on) Also, any Combination of half cage/half visor or half visor/half cage. And CCM skates with the swappable chassis of an ice blade to a roller chassis (can't remember the name)
  22. Um, I'm going to have to disagree with you there slapshot. Those bands could be considered key to a 3rd Wave Ska collection. The real "keys" to a ska collection would have to include the Toasters(especially when Coolie Ranx was in the band), Operation Ivy, 2tone era bands like the Specials and Madness, then the classics like Laurel Aitken and the Skatallites, and Desmond Dekker. On top of that I would have to mention a few other bands like, the Pilfers, Slapstick, The Slackers, and the Mad Caddies. Its too bad the mainstream chewed up Ska and spit it out in the late 90's, early 00's. These days were only left with a handful of bands touring and putting out good stuff. Who knows, maybe another wave of Ska is right around the corner.
  23. Pirelli was my teammate in college and really good friend. I wish I was in town to attend the ceremony. Rob was an amazing kid, happy to see his memory will live on.
  24. Care to elaborate? Sounds sad. Sure, he was one of those hardworking kids, it took him a year or two to crack the varsity, but one of those players who'd go through a wall if the coach asked him to. Total team player, and his family was still heavily involved in the program after he graduated. He said he couldn't envision himself doing anything other than being a US Special Forces operator, and gave his life in Iraq. We live in a pretty small town, but it's been unbelievable to see the community rally around his family. Hey Greechbc9, Are you talking about Rob Pirelli?
