New skates! I think they are hideous but if they are comfortable they will be worth it.

42 here, and game time is normally Sunday evenings. Lunch is normally some Asian spicy food depending on what the wife wants to eat. She's very petite (4'11 vs my 6' frame) so she doesnt eat much. I normally just finish what she cant eat. 1.5 hours before the game I might have a PB&J, otherwise its just a choc bar or banana, and plenty of water in the car to the rink. Edit. Forgot to mention that my team is part-sponsored by a place that does fried chicken. So if we have an early game, we convene at the joint to partake in some beer and wings.

I don't think the skates look good with black either. So I'd rather have colour than nothing.

I think they look great! Blue Moon was my favorite ice cream as a kid :P I was critical of the look of the True boot, but it's really grown on me. It features the custom colors so much better than the VH version did. To my taste anyway 😜

For me it was always, eat healthy and balanced throughout the day (with lots of carbs) and a bowl of chicken noodle soup (more carbs) about 2-3 hours before game time. I still had my "on" and "off" nights, but with 2-3 hours of cardio-centric exercise per week and plenty of rest on game day, I was almost always ready to keep playing after the game was over, despite the fact that I used to smoke 1-2 packs a day. That was almost 10 years ago... now I'm pushing 40 and just get whatever food and rest my schedule allows. 5 years away from the game and just getting back into it this summer, my endurance is fine (exercising less, but quit smoking) - but I'm not as strong on the puck, or as quick with my hands or feet as I used to be...

Well not a direct competitor, but Sparx is giving people less reason to continue going to a pro shop to have a 16 year old kid butcher their skates on their big expensive Blackstone ;)

I tried the Fire cut at Summer Jam and instantly loved it. It definitely convinced me to buy a Sparx machine and I've been very happy. I was using 90/50 FBV and now use 5/8 fire.

I've skated on FBV exclusively for the last few years now since trying them at WF. This last summer, I tried the Sparx Fire cut equivalent, and personally did not like it as much. Used the cut for about 5 skates, then got cut back to FBV. Personally, lack of FBV and large initial investment would keep me from buying a Sparx, even with the convenience factor.

Finally mostly healed from injury. Skated a total of 3 times from April until September, wasn't fun, but I cant complain too much as i've enjoyed good health and low amount of injuries the first 35 years of my life. Skating regularly again now. Starting to regain speed, but understandably my stamina is a bit off. Mostly private drop ins for now, hopefully start playing leagues again here soon. Local roller rink closed down, so the roller hockey experiment is mostly over, and I don't think I want to rejoin my tournament team for that. I would be bummed, but this means less EDM in my life, and more ice, so I'm cool with it .

Dallas Police team pants shells finally came in. The quality feels decent, but I kind of wish for the money we paid for them that the logo, stars, and lettering would have been embroidered instead of sublimated. I might look into getting a company to make me one at a later time, but for right now these will do nicely, and they will probably hold up pretty well.
