  1. Definitely a few steps up in quality/protection. That's not necessarily a good thing for me as I actually like how flexible the one60s are, but I'm sure for many it's a positive. The tailbone protection is infinitely better than in the one60. The leg zippers are the larger plastic ones, which I prefer (so they don't catch when zipping them up). And then for me I find the belt to be much better. It's in a better place (a bit higher up than on the one60, which is good for somebody with a gut). I haven't worn them in a game yet, but I'm pretty excited to do so now.
  2. Bought my first gaming headset for my xbox. Got it home, and it doesn't work. That's what I get for even trying.
  3. Our team wears the old 2010 Penguins winter classic jerseys (which are supposed to be worn with navy pants/helmet/gloves), but everyone on my team wears all black. So while I'd personally prefer to wear my navy gear, it makes more sense to match everyone else. That said, it's VERY hard to find stuff that is BLACK and light blue. Navy/light blue is easy. So when I saw these, I jumped on them. Reebok 16K "custom" pants from TotalHockey: I bought them without ever trying them on, but I'm honestly shocked at how well they fit. I haven't bought new pants in years because I couldn't find anything I liked more than the One60 pants I had. These are FAR more comfortable (especially in the waist where my gut is). I almost think I wouldn't need suspenders with these (but will wear them anyway).
  4. What is this wet stuff coming down from the sky?
  5. We had to turn on the A/C this past weekend :P
  6. I think I heard May? I'm not sure. I would guess somebody mentioned it elsewhere on the forum, but not sure where.
  7. If it felt good without baking, just wait until you bake them! It's like a hiking boot. Nice and snug all the way around your foot! I'd definitely wait for the mako 2 at this point though. Both because of the looks and because you won't risk the mako bumps ;)
  8. I took one right off the toe. Dear lord that hurt. Skate fenders wouldn't have helped me there, though.
  9. Saddest day in a long time. I’ll be enjoying a Nestle Crunch bar in memory of Harold Ramis today. RIP Egon Spengler! Seriously considering going out in full GB uniform today...
  10. Well at least they won their silver medals without the pain of mako bumps! ;)
  11. Decals on a helmet does not void warranty. I'm curious where you heard they do? Yes the big white warning label can come off. The certification labels should stay on.
  12. Glenn Healy is up there. His man-crush on Carey Price is almost gag-inducing.
  13. Not a chance in hell I would ever do that. How about this, if the US wins I'll tape my stick with the same color as the stars on your flag.
  14. Ugh, account managers. Making my life difficult.
  15. Just for the Olympics :)
  16. A brand new (now my 3rd) Sher-Wood T90 Undercover slim-fit. Taped, waxed, and ready for action this weekend!
  17. Wife and I have decided we will be moving to Canada in two years, shortly after I gain my US citizenship.
  18. I highly doubt any are. Hell, the only ice skates that are similar are the VH.
  19. I scrolled through the catalog hoping to see them bring back the white projekt elbows, knowing full well that they wouldn't be there. Did it anyway.
  20. You can hire pet-sitters, if you weren't aware of that option.
  21. Just had my initial email conversation with Scott regarding an order :)
  22. Helmet: Bauer Re-Akt w/ cage Shin pads: Easton Mako Pants: Bauer One80 Shoulder pads: Down Low Shoulder Pads Elbow pads: Warrior Projekt (2010 white model) Skates: Easton Mako Gloves: Sher-Wood EK15 Stick: Sher-Wood T90 Undercover slim-fit 70 flex PP007
  23. I agree with Cosmic - the fit of the boot more than makes up for the need to wear a sleeve on my leg for where it rubs. Minor inconvenience. But at least Easton saw that there was an issue and addressed it.
  24. Defect isn't the right word. I think design flaw would be a better way to describe it.
  25. Yep, if they know about it and fixed it, then it's the fault of the skate, not the person wearing it.
