  1. L, I believe. I'll check when I dig out all my extra gear tonight.
  2. Bauer Vapor core pads gone, and CCM CL shoulders have been gone for a while now. Will be updating with lots of new stuff. Would love to get rid of all the extra stuff I have.
  3. Agree completely, there so so much boot wrap that typing the laces tightly is unnecessary.
  4. Doesn't bother me any more than the guy wearing 69 or 00 who think they're clever.
  5. Well theres another rink about 40 mins away. Maybe I'll have to look there.
  6. I guess I'm done with hockey. For the 3rd straight season the team I was on is moving up a division and leaving me behind. This time, the league coordinator put me on another D6 team. Except they decided they don't want me and their roster suddenly filled up somehow. I have nowhere else to go, now. The other two teams in this division are already full (which is why I was placed on this one).
  7. Ask him anyway, if he has to make a new boot for you perhaps he could advance it to you? Worth asking, at least.
  8. Ordered "custom" Stevens ref pants. I truly don't have any idea what exactly makes them custom, since as far as I can tell for the extra $30 they're just an off-the-shelf size with the legs hemmed. They're like hammer pants, and now I'm stuck with them. I guess I could throw them on eBay and see if I can make ANY of my cash back. Blah.
  9. Haha well yea, the shagmate means you can't be at her beck and call when she needs something you would have previously done for her in an instant :) Oh, drama! haha (so happy to be married now...)
  10. Oh of course they love it, they have their own personal attendant who does anything and everything for them! I realized FAR too late in life that this was how it worked.
  11. Very good to know that's an option. I think I'll request that too. I wonder if Scott has a "hidden menu" of available custom options, or if its more just by request. Eg. I didn't know having your number embroidered was an option, either. mc88 those are FANTASTIC photos, and IMO you should send them to Scott to put on the VH website. They're seriously pro quality shots.
  12. Yup, exactly. As a dumb teen, I assumed "just friends" meant "try really hard and be super nice and go out of your way for them as much as you possibly can and maybe they will start to like you". Yea, dead wrong.
  13. God I wish I'd realized this when I was at that age. Would have wasted far less time in the friendzone.
  14. Yea that's basically my assumption. The liner feels wetter because it's not absorbing all the way in.
  15. You bring up some really good points, and I do agree with you and feel that these should be shown to Scott in the hopes that he will make a better effort going forward in his quality control. As a side note, as far as your stuff goes, I've ordered a good amount of stuff from you in the past and I can say it is above and beyond the quality expectations I could have possibly had going into the transactions. Truly could not be happier. Though at the same time, I do look at VH hockey skates as kind of a "beta" product, to use an analogy from MY world. Basically a hand made (but available to the masses) prototype (an alpha being a prototype not available to the masses). I don't know how accurate that is but to compare it to a product that I do own, I would have expected quality flaws like this in the MLX but definitely not in the Mako, if that makes sense. However, I could be TOTALLY wrong on that (the status of the VH skate in its product lifecycle). It's just the way I've viewed VH, personally, and I have lower standards and can accept more flaws in a beta product.
  16. Currently sitting in the premium section at the Leafs/Kings game. Edit: and even better, Leafs won!
  17. I've noticed that too. The insides of my Makos are FAR more wet than the insides of my RBK skates ever were.
  18. Ah I see what you mean. You're right that one one hand theyre $$$ but on the other hand, they ARE hand-made so I'd expect some imperfections in that regard. I wouldn't hold it against him :)
  19. My pain went away for a while (about 4-5 games), and then suddenly came back one game. That was a hellish game. Since then, I just wear the neoprene sleeve. The issue may be gone, I'm really not sure. Just not willing to find out the hard way. For the 10 seconds to put the sleeve on, I'm not risking it.
  20. Thanks for those photos. I was thinking of doing the white backs like that, but seeing them done that way I think I'm just going to go all black instead. Don't get me wrong, they're still gorgeous... the white just isn't for me.
  21. Watched the Leafs win in Anaheim tonight! What a great time my wife and I had! MASSIVE contingent of Leaf fans drowning out the building with the GO LEAFS GO chant, too!
  22. Thanks man, but quite a different setup for me. I only have HDMI on my Xbox E. No big deal, I got this adapter Turtle Beach sells: http://www.turtlebeach.com/support/entry/830517528 But have to exchange the headphones themselves because the transmitter is damaged. New rant: Going to have to find a new team... Again. This is the 3rd team in 3 years that has decided to move up a division. Getting kind of tired of it, to be honest. I guess Ill be sending my new team-colored pants back...
  23. What brand did you buy? If it wasn't Turtle Beach you made a mistake. It was. I know nothing and it was on a whim because I was bored, so I just grabbed the cheapest ones that were wireless with the big ear cups. X42 or something. About $150. While trying to figure out how to connect them (my xbox360 doesn't have SPDIF so I had to order an HDMI splitter online) I realized the transmitter wasn't powering on via the USB port on the xbox. Dunno why. But since the adapter arrived in the mail yesterday I guess I'll be trying to exchange these.
  24. Sher-Wood Rekker EK15 Sr. Hockey Gloves Size 13 Black/White/Red Length of use: Approx two months Player profile 5'9" 240lbs, 1 beer league game per week Hand type: small hands and fingers Previous gloves used: Sher-Wood Nexon, Warrior Koncept, Bauer Supreme Fit 9/10 The best way to describe the fit of the EK15 is that they have the palm tightness of a Supreme glove, and the cuff of a Vapor glove. In that way, they are quite similar to the Warrior Koncept gloves I had been wearing. The fit itself is also nearly identical to the Nexon gloves. I found that they were quite stiff when they were brand new, to the point where I had a bit of difficulty gripping my stick well. After sweating in them a bit, it was no issue. And then after a couple games they softened right up and now they are SUPER comfortable. Like the Nexon gloves, the inner edge of index finger and pinky finger are solid pieces of palm material, unlike most gloves that have gusset material on the edges. At first it felt a bit weird to not have the stretch there that I'm used to, but once the gloves broke in a bit it felt perfect. Protection 10/10 These are easily the most protective gloves I've ever worn, period. I actually took a puck in the hand last weekend and barely felt it (wrist shot, I'm sure I would have felt a slap shot!) The plastic inserts are a great addition. Weight 9/10 These are about exactly what you'd expect from a top tier glove. A little heavier than some of the mid-range gloves I've worn in the past, but nowhere near enough to really think about it at all while playing. Durability 10/10 No issues to complain about so far. Very little palm wear at all, and no loose stitching etc. The reinforced palm is fantastic. Intangibles 10/10 I really have no complaints with this glove, which is strange for me. Usually there's always SOMETHING I'm nitpicking about, that makes me continuously looking for a new model. With Warrior discontinuing the Koncept, I'm extremely happy I have the Nexon and EK15 a try. Also, the cool-tech liner is fantastic! Conclusion I will absolutely be buying a pair of these in black/white once they are released. I had been extemely happy with the Nexon gloves I had previously, and these are very similar in fit and feel, but with a few minor tweaks. OVERALL SCORE: 9.5/10
