I'd prefer neither, though if I had to choose one it would be actual football, not hand-egg. I'll take rugby over either. Basketball is almost as bad as US football, and at least baseball is SUPPOSED to be slow and boring.

Yup, have seen that thread. I have a spare pair of Makos sitting here waiting for conversion, just don't want to cannibalize my (currently working out for me) Reactors and hard to justify $150 for new cowlings if I'm not going to end up being happy with the Makos for goalie skates. I also find them hard to get on when the tendon guard is removed.

I wonder if Bauer Vertexx goalie cowlings would line up with the holes without having to drill new holes (and if I do, does drilling new holes affect the skates in a noticeably negative way?)

Local rink cancelled all programs for this Sunday. Apparently there's some kind of event going on? *shrug* Anyway, they basically offered the adult teams the ice for the entire day for pickup and/or practice. Just have to claim your time slot!

Here's what I pretty much always look like. And yea probably a lot of things I'm doing wrong all at the same time. I want a GoPro so I can record myself so I can see what I'm doing wrong. My stick is probably right around where Bernier's is in that photo, too. So again... wrong. I'm in a rookie league and I get a bit of 1 on 1 time with a coach while the rest of the players are doing their drills, but they aren't a goalie coach so its mostly just taking shots to various parts of the net, practicing t-pushes and getting square, etc. I'm definitely considering getting a couple lessons from an actual goalie coach as well. It'll get better, it's just frustrating.

Seriously frustrated. To the point where I'm actually considering just selling my pads and being done with it. I'm TERRIBLE. In fact I'm pretty sure I've actually gotten worse. If the shot is in the air, I'm generally fine as long as I can see it. But almost everything along the ice goes in. My butterfly comes with a nice 8" space between my legs, and I cant even tell you how often a short side shot has gone either between my legs and in or even off the far post and in. You know its bad when a shot hits you square in the face and in. I just can't stop anything down low. I don't know how many I let in during a 1.5 hr pickup session tonight. 20-25 maybe? It's embarrassing.

haha yeah, im not just full of shit! I can ACTUALLY fit into smaller pants now. I just bought new jeans last week too :)

New Bauer Vapor X80 pants. Had been wearing Supreme/Nexus until now. But there's actually something special about these pants: they're size L. I've been wearing XL since I started playing hockey, and as of today I'm 25lbs down since I started seeing a personal trainer in July. Sizing down in pants is a pretty significant milestone for me! Edit: haha wow that almost looks like a product photo, if you didn't see my carpet in the shadows!
