But nobody asked for that information. Regardless, it’s good that the drama has finally come to an end. -

How does this add value to the question? -
It’s been so long since I’ve been to that dumpster fire. Absolute cesspool. There was a goalie forum that sprung up that looked like it might be promising but it’s basically become GGSU with a different cast... Click on a random thread and the latest 10 posts will have absolutely nothing to do with the topic of the thread. Anyway, I digress. We actually have some decent refs here. Though I imagine as a goalie our relationships are a bit different. Talking before the game and between whistles and stuff. Most of them I’ll send the puck down on an icing to save them the skate, etc. Others, they can skate back and get it themselves, and they’ll have to dig the puck out of the net after goals because I’m not doing it for them. But that’s only 1 or 2. Apparenty the ref in question here deemed the puck to be still in motion towards the goal and honestly, the video supports it. I just REALLY dont think so, being about 8 feet away when it happened. But if it looks like it was in the video, then I imagine it did from the corner where he was standing. Oh well, wouldn’t be the first time a goalie has lost his shit on a ref for something they’re ultimately wrong about. Certainly won’t be the last either. Oh, ended up with a game misconduct for abuse of official on the scoresheet.

I dunno maybe I misunderstood and "okay you are in" doesn't actually mean I'm supposed to show up?

How Much is Too Much (Warm Up)
IPv6Freely replied to Ghostender's topic in Fundamentals and Techniques
Ours is 5 minutes. I stretch for about 2 minutes, stop pucks for about 1 minute, stretch for another 1-2 and if there's time left I may stop a couple more. If the players were more skilled so I could ask them to hit me with certain shots (give me a couple glove side, a couple blocker side, etc) it may be different but at this skill level I just take enough to where I feel comfortable and feel like I can track the puck and then I'm out (or I bail after the first shot that goes past my ear, whichever comes first). I can't even imagine 15 minutes in ANY division. -
Damn dude. I have no words... Good luck with everything and please keep us updated!

Just the cherry on top for me. You've seen my other thread here. This stopped being fun a while ago. This was the last game of the season. Meaningless since both teams were already out of the playoffs, but I finished the season like I said I would. Now I have two pickup games I've already committed to unfortunately but I don't think I'm going to play in a league anymore. Oh, and this team we played is now 1-19, on that goal.

Apparently over-skating a puck, turning around and going to retrieve it is a perfectly legitimate way of scoring a shootout goal.

If they fit you and you like them then yes I’d say so.

Would actually be better to name the shop so people here know not to get work done there.

Has it changed, or are the colored parts still just glued on? edit: never mind, I forgot that the areas colored now are different. Probably would be pretty easy to change now. -

I highly doubt that's possible but you never know until you ask. -
We really don’t need a breakdown of NHL player endorsements in this thread. Please keep it on topic.

Another season over. Lost 4-0 in the semi-finals to the first place team that has lost about 3 games over the last four seasons total. Normally that wouldnt be sweet spot worthy but we’ve been informed that they aren’t allowing that team to continue as-is. So this is the last season that will be a complete waste of time.

Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

Basically where I was at too. 40 mins each way to get a 50/50 chance at decent edges. Showed up during hours posted. “It was slow so he went home.” -

What I personally wouldn’t do is try to do the math to figure out the break-even. Maybe if money was the #1 reason why I wanted a Sparx, but honestly that was so far down the list of reasons that it was kind of irrelevant. I also feel like my time is worth something, not to mention the time wasted skating on a bad sharpening. The convenience is worth far more than any kind of perceived or real monetary savings, to me at least. -

You sound like a good candidate for one. If you can afford the expense, then do it 🙂 -

And in many places even if you ask for something different you’re likely just going to get 1/2” anyway. -

Yeah 1/2 is definitely the most common. -

Hollow is a preference thing. -
Our league is actually doing something about the lack of parity. Shocking.

They are really hard to put on. I spot heated the top of mine to open it up, but still use a long shoe horn to slide my feet in. I get some weird looks still when I do it but whatever.
