  1. Oh I would definitely not avoid buying them based on this thread, that’s for sure. It was just a coincidence I noticed. As for the tightness, definitely the opposite. I barely have to tighten my laces at all for the first 4-5 eyelets. They’re just barely taught in that area.
  2. Tron are fine for that purpose though I’d never give them my money. I ended up buying a CCM one when I got my new helmet. It has this nice little cover that just goes on the visor itself. Assuming you don’t mind buying from Tron, they’re fine.
  3. Playing the top seeded Predators, who have only lost a handful of games over the last three seasons and have given up less than a goal per game. They had two players who shouldn't be in our division. One of them was ejected during the third period for homophobic slurs. Huge credit to the referee, who was clearly a beginner, for having the guts to toss him. You hear it once in the video, but the tirade doesn't end there and he continues to say it on the way to the penalty box before being ultimately sent off.
  4. Does anyone else find it odd that with a 3D scan of your feet they seem to have so many issues, yet they were able to nail it back when you just sent them an outline and some photos?

    Either way I'm in!
  6. I love playing with my team... when they show up. The room is definitely not an issue for me.

Large. I’d say fits as expected. Keep in mind I’m 60lbs lighter than the last time you saw me if you’re trying to make a comparison lol.

Just ordered a tshirt and a polo. Prices are actually really reasonable IMO!

For anyone curious, he’s not kidding. They have everything you could imagine from shirts to sweats to golf bags and baseball cleats. You get awesome swag and help the site in the process!

Awesome. Definitely getting a couple things!
  11. Indeed - since we moved to the new forum version there is little reason to have any sort of app (or use any sort of 3rd party service like we used to long ago). The mobile site is way WAY better than I had expected it to be, actually. I was one of the people that bitched when we dumped Tapatalk, too.
  12. Interviews with mfgr reps would be cool too, especially if we could get exclusive scoops on new product! lol
  13. What about a section where members can post reviews on LHS, vendors (jerseys, for example) etc?
  14. Deposits are probably a good idea for high ticket items if that was ever going to be offered, but I'm not sure how much of a logistical nightmare that might be. Hmm.
  15. 300k houses don't really exist here. At least not unless you want to move to some of the more sketchy places. My wife and I are actually in the cheapest new construction you can find in the county.
  16. Yeah I think I may go back and deactivate rather than delete just so I don’t lose 15 years worth of posts and photos and stuff. Deactivating also let’s you keep using FB messenger which I did still use a decent amount (I didn’t realize they weren’t tied together, or I would have deactivated a year ago when I first considered it) I got booted out of the group that was made for all the owners in our community because I hurt too many feelings (I told somebody their idea for speedbumps on the 55mph 4-lane road entering our communituy was a stupid idea, for example). That was pretty much the only reason I didn’t get rid of it last year s I’d stopped using it (other than messenger) by that point. Facebook had previously been a bit more important for me than many people though because my family and all my friends are thousands of miles away so it really was the best way to catch up. But they all mostly stopped posting so at that point why bother. A couple of my neighbors, after I got the boot, said the same thing: I’m probably better off not having to know how stupid everyone here is. Probably enjoy living in the community way more. They’re probably right about that, too. It’s like when people put political signs in their yard (thankfully not allowed here)... like, okay thanks for letting me know you’re an asshole... I’d have preferred to not know. My community is full of 20-somethings in 700k houses and man are they entitled. One of them actually had a local news crew come out to do a story on the “safety issues” in the community, like street lights being out (umm, it’s still under construction - they don’t energize them until that street is finished...) Yeah I’d say I’m better off... Huge digression there but that group was basically the last thing I was actually using FB for so once it was gone, it was time to pull the plug. Plus I guess it counts as another topic for this thread 😉 LOL
  17. +1 for basic manual. It’s literally an entire book that covers things that aren’t rule related (positioning, where face offs go, etc) all the kind of stuff a ref needs to know but a player probably doesn’t. you can order hard copies online, too. I would also suggest getting certified. Even if you don’t NEED to, getting a chance to attend a seminar with a classroom portion and an on-ice portion (we seriously spent 10 minutes learning how to drop a puck so it lands flat!) is totally worth it. And who knows maybe you’ll love it and want to move up!
  18. To be clear, there is a big difference between taking figure skating lessons, and taking skating lessons from a figure skating instructor.
  19. Yes. Consider this: in figure skating, crossovers and outside edgework are a fundamental. In (adult) hockey, they’re an afterthought.
  20. Player on the other team last night was ejected for homophobic slurs. The guy was already one of the biggest douchebags in the league not only for his play, but also for his mouth and of course the fact that he’s one of many on his team who are in the wrong division. This was just the cherry on top. Huge credit to the refs for doing the right thing. This could have gone in either the sweet spot or the venting spot but considering it shouldn’t have happened in the first place I decided to go with the latter.
