Skate replacement for Easton Mako

You mean MLX. This is history that is already well known. Unlikely we’ll see Bauer skates with any tech from the Mako. -

I went from Mako to True and have been happy. -

Let’s get back to talking about True skates. Please? -

Agreed with this. I bought one that I can actually use without even bending over. It’s like 2’ long. I get weird looks when I use it around people that don’t know me. I don’t care. It helps SO much to get the skate on! -

There should actually be LESS wear. Extra space = movement = friction. -
Sure. You obviously get what you pay for with this kind of thing, though. But something is better than nothing.

Could you please use multi quote instead of posting six times? -
Chest strap will be the best but the Apple Watch does a very good job and no the wrist movements don’t affect it.

It’s not a goalie holder on player skates. -

I'd send them to @JR Boucicaut using the MSH Pro Shop.

That’s tempting.

That’s what I’ve been thinking too. If there’s one feature I think people would be willing to shell out a couple bucks for, it’s image hosting. -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

But just imagine the butthurt from the guys who think Sparx is taking away their business! I'd almost want to see it just because it would be amusing. -

Yea I would definitely say user error with that one. Just like not using a shoe horn when baking and wrecking the heel area. -

LOOOOL wtf. Definitely not going to put that one on True. -
The new, athletic position of goalie
IPv6Freely replied to bunnyman666's topic in General Goalie Discussion
I'm 100% all for streamlined gear for many reasons. I agree that the drop and block can be boring but its generally playing the percentages. Analytics these days, etc. That said I don't want the gear to be less protective either. What they really should (and should have already) be doing is working on newer technologies. New foams, plastics, and other composites where they can make everything smaller but no less protective. -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener
IPv6Freely replied to tamtamg's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
As somebody who probably gets worse nicks than most (thanks to the goal posts) it's not that big of a deal to me. Granted I still have a cross-grind ring, but have only ever used it once when I changed hollows. My weekly sharpen is 2 passes. If I go longer than a week for some reason its 4. If I have a bad nick its 8. I've never needed more than that. -

Yea and if you have a specific issue with that spot they can note it on the order. I have a bump on my big toe that they built around. In any other skate (other than Mako) I have to put a silicone cover over my big toe. -

Well if everything on the Mako fits except that, then you should expect that part to also fit in VH 🙂 -

You're in the right thread 🙂 There's a few of us who went from Mako to VH, myself included. Honestly, there's not much to say. The comfort and fit of the Mako was simply amplified even more going to VH. That being said, I didn't actually like the forward pitch of the Mako so I had my runners profiled at a slight negative to compensate - so going to the VH boot was easy. Oh, and I wore the Makos as a forward and VH as a goalie so there's that too. But strictly from a comfort and fit perspective of the boot itself it was an easy transition. I didn't think it could get any more comfortable than the Mako... until I tried the VH 🙂 Not sure how helpful that will be for you, but that was my experience at least.
