Wilson suspension reduced to 14 games (16 games have already been served). Not a fan. 20 was well deserved. I'd like to see them toss a full season at him for the next one.

Fair point.

I think the part that drives me nuts the most is if you're going to keep stats then can you at least just do them right? Or just don't even bother at all. Our scorekeepers have a laptop at the bench to enter stuff real time and they still get it wrong.

The new, athletic position of goalie
IPv6Freely replied to bunnyman666's topic in General Goalie Discussion
I'm 100% all for streamlined gear for many reasons. I agree that the drop and block can be boring but its generally playing the percentages. Analytics these days, etc. That said I don't want the gear to be less protective either. What they really should (and should have already) be doing is working on newer technologies. New foams, plastics, and other composites where they can make everything smaller but no less protective. -
Sparx Skate Sharpener - At home sharpener

As somebody who probably gets worse nicks than most (thanks to the goal posts) it's not that big of a deal to me. Granted I still have a cross-grind ring, but have only ever used it once when I changed hollows. My weekly sharpen is 2 passes. If I go longer than a week for some reason its 4. If I have a bad nick its 8. I've never needed more than that. -

Yea and if you have a specific issue with that spot they can note it on the order. I have a bump on my big toe that they built around. In any other skate (other than Mako) I have to put a silicone cover over my big toe. -

Well if everything on the Mako fits except that, then you should expect that part to also fit in VH 🙂 -

You're in the right thread 🙂 There's a few of us who went from Mako to VH, myself included. Honestly, there's not much to say. The comfort and fit of the Mako was simply amplified even more going to VH. That being said, I didn't actually like the forward pitch of the Mako so I had my runners profiled at a slight negative to compensate - so going to the VH boot was easy. Oh, and I wore the Makos as a forward and VH as a goalie so there's that too. But strictly from a comfort and fit perspective of the boot itself it was an easy transition. I didn't think it could get any more comfortable than the Mako... until I tried the VH 🙂 Not sure how helpful that will be for you, but that was my experience at least. -

Yep, caused by people not changing the filters. In fact they actually sent out free filters right after that happened. -
Had 6 skaters, one of them is in a division higher than he probably should be and the other came straight from the airport from a fraternity reunion. He puked multiple times during the game. We played the team that has two regular season losses in all of 2018, who seem to be adding more and more guys who should be in the next division up. Lost 15-0. Good times.

When you guys can come up with a way for the home unit to be able to safely accommodate cross-grinding, I'm sure Sparx will be happy to implement it. They didn't just discontinue it for the hell of it. -
I guess. It just comes off as a lot of butthurt about him leaving a disaster of an organization. I’m also not sure a few idiots on twitter really represents the entire fan base. That said, that kind of Leaf fans would complain about a 10-0 win if they didn’t like the performance of somebody, so it’s not really JT specific.

Not even remotely.

Yes I have done it. Ended up using a heat gun to soften the tops and sticking a softball into the top of the skate (to keep it open) and tossing it in the freezer to quickly cool it. Worked great. As for the insole - yes I had insole issues also and they replaced them immediately. They should be able to replace the tongues also if they aren't what you ordered. They're attached by velcro so its an easy swap out. As for re-baking, I baked mine at home in the first place anyway. Never took them to a shop. Its easy if you're careful. -
A new toe cap would make sense. Something with much less volume above the toes. There's a reason a product is out there that eliminates that gap.

I had the best game ever on Sunday. Made some insane saves, two of them were ten bell saves just before the buzzer at the end of the first and second periods. Unfortunately they had one more buzzer beater in the 3rd that put them up 4-3. Despite giving up 4 goals, I think this was the first time in a long time that everything seemed to be clicking. The only really disappointing one was the last one because it was a clean shot that beat me from the bottom of the circle. There’s nothing I hate more than being beaten by a shot with no traffic! We definitely deserved better in this one. And I wish I’d had the camera up...

Awesome, congrats!!

I imagine those folks are way harder on them than I am. -
It’s funny because the silver heel is one of the biggest complaints about the Mako.🤔
-
It's amazing how many people think it is.

I back a lot of them. Some do well, some take forever with endless delays, and some never happen. Then there are the people who ask for refunds when there are delays. Those people don’t understand crowdfunding. Kickstarter is not a shopping site.

Had some jackass hit my wife’s one week old car on my way to hockey last night. We won 7-2, so I have that going for me which is nice.

Never owned Mako2. Only had the originals. From what I’ve read on here though there isn’t all that much of a difference.
