  1. The 2023 HYPERLITE2 skate is a little heavier than the 2021 HYPERLITE model. I would say the FT6P is about 90-100 grams heavier than the 2023 HYPERLITE2.
  2. Very similar, but I think they added even more volume in the FT6P. I have never worn a tapered skate, yet my FT6P are tapered...
  3. I always wonder the actual involvement of the Pros in companies, such as Skatescribe. Are these Pros just getting a few % of ownership in exchange for attaching their name to a product, or are they actually investing significant capital?
  4. What's funny is when I first saw the FT6P all the rep talked about was the addition of the facing allowing more forward flex and wrap on the foot. He was super excited about it. Some feedback: The addition of the eyelet facings provide a nice amount of forward flex and foot wrap. I don't know how they measure the stiffness index specifically, but the skate feel the same as the FT4P and does not feel as stiff as the AS5P. This leads me to believe the stiffness index is actually 195 and not 215. The new modifications to the boot make it feel like V2 of the 100K if you were testing it blindfolded. Small additions, like the asymmetrical neck of the boot and revised foams, are enjoyable. The new boot last is interesting. In current retail models, I have always fit a regular boot, but it was a tight fit. In the FT6P I had to go with a tapered fit as the boot is very much cut like a V. The regular and wide boot feels huge on my feet with too much depth and width. This might be helpful for those with wider or more voluminous feet. Also, the added weight is noticeable if you are coming from a FT1/FT2/FT4P. I assume the changes to the revised shell and padding are responsible for the increased weight. It was immediately noticeable when I first got on the ice, but after a few skates I was able to adjust. Disclaimer: I have the pre-release model, so it is very possible that changes could have been made in the retail production model.
  5. HT said they confirmed the stiffness with CCM. Europe has a different stiffness level than NA. Not sure why....
  6. The weight and balance point have been changed. I think what he meant was it will feel even lighter than it measures on the scale. Been testing the JSFT6P for a bit now and am very impressed as it feels similar to the JSFT3P.
  7. Like these? https://www.hockeymonkey.com/ccm-hockey-accessories-xs-tongue-extra.html
  8. Most brand increase the size of S, M and L, so they eliminated the need for an XL.
  9. There are multiple XS tongues to choose from. Why didn't you just get a thinner tongue? That's an option too.
  10. Ventilation is better than the FT4 Pro, but would not claim it's significant. If anything, I feel the FT6 Pro is a mix of the Crazy Light + FT4 Pro shoulder pads. The bend didn't in the lower abdomen didn't bother me when playing, and was more of an aesthetic annoyance. However, every time I would hang my gear after skating, I would notice it and it would make my eye twitch 😉
  11. FT6 Pro Shoulder Pad review: Sorry for the delay. Been super busy.
  12. They also are horrible helmets. That's why Bauer did a single year release and then made the new Hyp2rlite helmet, lol.
  13. Ellipse II feels much longer than a Quad II.
  14. Usually when that happens, the hole where the tab goes through is a little too small, and it puts pressure on the locking side of the tab. I would use a small file and just open that one hole up a little, and you should not have any more issues.
  15. The CCM 910 and 720 (new for 2023) fit a max size of 63cm. What is the circumference of his head?
  16. If the eyelets stretch more than this, Bauer might give you a hard time with the warranty and may not replace the skate. I would go back to the store and ask them to warranty the skates through Bauer directly. That way you get a new pair of skates and they keep the sale.
  17. Graphics are a little more durable, but still wear off quickly. I wish they would just use black nylon/plastic for the base and minimal print for the graphics. Like all brands did in the past.
  18. Since the liners are removable, you should be able to stitch new fabric over top of the worn areas. I would also recommend using some denier nylon in the high wear areas. https://www.amazon.com/Black-Denier-Cordura-Nylon-Fabric/dp/B00I80QH3S
  19. I would personally do the CCM XS tongues so in the future you can replace the tongue again easily.
