  1. Geargeek is sweet. I love it. But it's important to remember that they are only noting who is using what wrap when it comes to sticks. And even if they are using the same stick as the wrap, customization goes far beyond just the pattern. Other members can fill in the details here I am sure.
  2. It is a pro stock pattern. Similar to a P92, but definitely not a P92.

  4. How often, if ever, do counterfeit sticks pop up? There is a stick on sidelineswap right now that I would like to buy that looks totally legit. But the pic of where is has the player name, pattern and lie, the lie listed is different from every other one of these sticks I have ever seen. Is there a chance this is a fake?
  5. I got a Pro3. I know cutting sticks is all the rage lately but I decided to keep the extra length for now. I may end up cutting later but it feels great. It really launches bombs.
  6. What does this actually mean? For some reason I get the feeling that they are using fancy words to describe what might actually amount to a reduction in quality.
  7. What? The Drury is a heel wedge. The P28 is a toe cup. I really don't see where they relate too each other. I have both and IMO they're both curve for players with very refined technique, but not similar technique at all.
  8. Hold the phone, can we get some more info on this gentleman wearing two completely different skates?
  9. What are the chances of sending people a molding kit and letting people create their own custom blade?
  10. This curve has been floating around for years. Usually as a special request by retailers. It is essentially a P02 with only differences that the biggest nerds notice. Where are you seeing it on Trigger 3Ds? One thing I don't get is why do I usually see this curve in QRLs, Triggers and Vapors? While I can see the usefulness of this curve for a grinding forward close to the net, this is traditionally a clapper curve. I would love to see it on a Tacks or a Nexus.
  11. It seems Kronwall used them on 9/22. I have no more info than a post on HFB.
  12. Will the spear construction be used at all price points?
  13. Yes. In silver ish grey? With real light grey graphics on the hosel so that all you can see from any distance is a small Warrior logo and an "AK" with "TWENTY SEVEN" written too light to be seen?
  14. I appreciate it. Unfortunately mine isn't included there.
  15. I got two AK27s at Paranis last winter. Two for $120. They are black with silver graphics with white logos. All of the sticks only came in a W01 curve, which is why I got them. I have never seen anything similar to them anywhere else. The blade is a bit heavier than say my Triggers, but otherwise I love them and the puck feel is better than any other stick I use. Not great "pop" though. Does anyone here know any spit where I can find more out about the sticks I have?
  16. Base and STX aren't comparable. I was halfway through a thread here about "Base Hockey sticks" before I realized the discussion was about a brand and not low end models. STX on the other hand is a strongly established brand known for quality. Anyone who has ever walked into a sports store has seen STX gear. They literally took lacrosse from being an ultra niche sport to having more registered lacrosse players than hockey players in the USA. I know that and I've never played 1 minute of lacrosse. Base is cool but STX is huge.
  17. It may be worth bringing up doing the build your own stick thing a lot of direct sales smaller companies offer. If you were selling a truely top tier customizable stick for under $200 I have a feeling I would be seeing them all over. A Surgeon with a P38 like blade and a lie 4.5. Sick!!!! Call up your boys, let's do this.
  18. STX is a very established lacrosse brand. They have a reputation in the industry. Base is cool but their brand is not similar to STX. I do love their site though.
  19. You would think selling direct they could offer more curves because they don't have to produce massive amounts of rach curve. Maybe a consideration for future generations. As much as a lot of what STX is doing feels weird, it could turn out pretty sweet too. We all love going to the LHS and I hate when they struggle, but at the same time more direct sales could totally change how gear is bought. Maybe when you go to buy a stick you could have a ton of patterns and lie's to choose from. Or custom fitting more gear than just skates. Or even just simply lower cost.
  20. Because they made you experience Baltimore or because they are selling direct?
  21. The RX2 kick point was the shit IMO. Truely variable. I would be super excited to see what has changed on the RX3 but no X9 curve. We will see what the deal is with custom sticks but I would say it is very unlikely I purchase any more STX sticks. I still have one in each price point of the RX2 though so I really don't need one anyway.
