  1. Yeah, i hesitated all of about 20 mins on them. The second time I looked at the auction I hit the BIN button. Cant beat that price.
  2. Sweet! What did you use? I find Febreeze after a day of Lysol (2-3x) does the trick. Any gear I buy new does not get stank, because they get the Lysol and dry treatment. 1/3 rubbing alcohol, 1/3 hydrogen peroxide, 1/3 water. Spray on possible stinky areas and let it sit out under a fan. Use heat gun on lowest setting at about 8-12" as a hair dryer. Dry in no time and almost stink free. Needs a couple more treatments and it will smell brand new.
  3. Yeah, split fingers. It's on the outside, it's kind of hidden by the canadian flag in all the pics I have. It's just black sharpie it says either "P29" or "P62" kind of hard to tell. Didnt see the marking on any pictures from the past two seasons. Notice he has one pair that doesn't have the blue panel, it's all black on the backrolls. There's also another pair that look just like mine but have his name on the cuff instead of the outside of the pinkie. BTW, only a couple hours later and they are funk free.
  4. Yeah... They're drying now. Hopefully they'll be a bit better. These must have been RANK before the repalming. Doesn't look like a stick has touched the palms yet. Got them off ebay, low BIN price with rareness of glove made me snap them up quickly. I believe that Richie has/had about 2-3 pairs that he rotates... I wonder how long these have been used. I lost Thrill's email... I wonder if he can confirm based on the marking on the cuff when these were used by Richie. I might need to call in a favor.
  5. Nothing special, nash. BTW, these things stink... Wheres that damn spray bottle?
  6. New beauties arrived 10 mins ago: Brad Richards pro stock, used but recently repalmed: Big thanks for Drewhuns forwarding me the target for me to pull the trigger on.
  7. I send a couple emails and Jason called me to confirm everything and he put the order in. They're going to hate me if I go custom again, but all depends if I decide to pull the trigger on the gloves on ebay.
  8. And that is why I used your finished product pics as my template for photoshop :P They better be different or I will be pissed! I like having stuff other people dont have, luckily around here my eagles, my eastons and my new beauties are pretty different. Mostly retail around these parts. Maybe my next pair of eagles will be even more unique as my new gloves that are en route.
  9. haha, thats why I photoshopped mine. Very close to what I got.
  10. I want those damn white/navy eastons!.. in 14.5" :(
  11. Just about any girl that plays hockey that cant crush my body with her legs is attractive. ;) The stick is pretty funny... My buddy was playing a game once and his team was dominating. He is a goalie. In the first intermission, he wrote what he thought of the other goalie on his stick with a puck. "Flounder"
  12. I'm taller than you by an inch and I use a 58" stick. It would be nice for you but for most other people, it would suck.
  13. B)--> QUOTE(Tyler B @ Mar 7 2008, 09:07 PM) ←so a XXXX with XXX graphics? Honestly, that was just like I said... my first thought. I have used 3 different XXXlite sticks and never liked one. None of them had the checkerboard weave... At this point I avoid the XXXlite like the plague, why bother looking at something you already know you dont like?
  14. First thought when I saw it, it's a XXXX.
  15. 12k is checkerboard weave. The former weave was "7K"
  16. Spree, I believe you owe it to the MSH crowd to show off a certain new twig you got. ;)
  17. NBH Vapor XXXX skate Reviewer stats: 6'1, 240. Strong skater, powerful strides. Fit: My past two pairs of skates were Tacks. The wider toebox on the new Vapor line made it possible for me to actually use Vapors, much to my surpise. I previously tried the XXX and couldn't stand up in them for more than a few seconds, these were comfortable out of the box. I baked the first pair, didn't bake the second(warranty return, details below). The second pair has felt more comfortable again, much to my surprise. The boot isn't quite deep enough for me, I'm on the border of failing the pencil test. This led to some issues with forward flex. I have solved this by skipping the top eyelet and lacing outside-in, as opposed to my inside-out along the top eyelets. Fit of course is subjective, try these on for yourself. 9/10 Blade/Holder: LS2 steel is decent, holds a good edge but not for very long. Jimmy speaks highly of STEP steel, I may eventually make the change but I'll still get 4-6 icetimes out of a sharpening on average(3/4"). Coming from Tacks, I needed to get a profiling job, I requested for the equivalent of a 2mm heel lift based on feel... Very close to mimicing my Tacks but not quite, I think the magic number is 3mm. The LS2 holder is beautiful, nice and stiff, very responsive. 9/10 Weight/Protection: Weight on these are great, nice and lightweight. Protection is good but not great. The toecap is solid but there is a spot just behind the toe cap on the inside that hurts like hell when you get hit with a puck. I volunteer coach adult beginners, during a scrimage I blocked a shot from one of these beginners and it hurt like hell, glad it wasn't a slap shot. Besides that ONE spot, the skates are solid and protective. Only felt maybe 2-3 shots that hurt in almost a year in the skates. 8.5/10 Durability: These are proving to be pretty durable. You'll still find the infamous "Vapor cuts" around the boot but it doesn't effect the structure of the skate. The laces are holding up very well considering I undo the top eyelets everytime I take off the skates. Holders and steel are still in great working order. Besides puckmarks, the "vapor cuts" and some tongue fraying, these are good as new. 10/10 Quality Control: In my first pair the outsole started separating in less than 3 icetimes. Having a closer look it seemed that there was a mis-sewn seam that cause the outsole to be stressed to stay flat along the bottom of the boot. Also the left holder seemed to be slightly off center. My second pair has been great. The outsole doesn't show the slightest sign of separating after months of use. The holders look and feel dead on straight. I'm going to give it a 5 out of 10 rating based solely on the fact that I've had one pair that was bad and one that was good. Take that rating with a grain of salt. 5/10 Intangibles: The skate looks great, in my opinion. The colors flow throughout the entire boot, to the holder and steel right on through to the laces. 10/10 Conclusion: If the skate fits, wear it. These skates have been very good for me. So far the skates have been plenty durable for me and the perform as good as they look. Very responsive skates. FINAL: 9/10
  18. Must RBK use the ugliest liner they could find for the skate?
  19. Oh damn... Well we can always pull the blade from leftover stock of Pulses. *shrug*
  20. Hopefully it wont last long. With the wealth of tapered blades I have, I'm pretty much only using tapered shafts at this point. The more players the better of a chance I find something I like as much as the old stuff. Although, I do understand the reasoning behind it... Never stopped TPS from making shafts, gloves. Never kept Easton from making skates. You can't really go after a small part of a market and ever expect to make a big splash in the market as a whole. Just take some Fuel sticks, don't fuse them instantly a tapered shaft and blade combo, makes everyone happy.
  21. None right now, Mission is focusing on the OPS market.
  22. Did you also notice all the color options they have now?!
  23. Icewarehouse also has a pair of knit x72s, 2008 model.
