Icewarehouse now has the entire Tacks line listed. Some very interesting stuff going on. Most notable, a $399 offering being dubbed Connor McDavid’s 2017/18 spec. Think they got their price points perfect. $549 for one step down from the top is exactly where that model should be.

Being down 3-1 and turn around to force a game 7 and control most of that game is no small task. Yeah it stings right now but overall, the Leafs really showed something.
-
Leave Ricky where he is. I'd like to see Donato back in, especially since secondary scoring has been an issue.
-
Really liked their chances in this series, however, not liking their chances in game 7. Boston really needed to put this series away in game 5. They are different then the Julien led teams but they still lack that killer instinct.
-
Not the first guy I think of when think of grizzled playoff vets. I think Jack Eichl has really suffered not having that. It doesn’t get mentioned much, but Marty Lapointe was huge in Patrice Bergerons’ development. Mark Reechi helped guide that 2011 team to a cup.

I think games 1 & 3 could have gone either way. Boston puts a few of those posts in, and the Leafs could have been playing to avoid the sweep last night. Boston looked pretty flat in periods 1 & 2 last night.
-
Rask bailed them out big time last night. Right back in the drivers seat.

As opposed to the fan-Boys telling you they’re right up there with sliced bread and the wheel....

I'd say there is fairly big difference between pro-stock skates and pro-stock gloves, pants & sticks. Your average hack can use anyone of those items without impacting his or her game. Skates on the other hand, if they dont fit, well you know how that goes. FWIW, I buy pro-stock sticks because it's good value. I could care less who's name is on the nameplate (most of the time it's someone I've never heard of).
-
Think they’ll make a game of it in game 3, possibly even pull out the win. I tend to agree with chippa though, they looked done.
-
Umm yeah, cuz while stupid and annoying, no one got hurt.
-
Seeing what Drew Doughty got for what he did, Kadri has to get at least 3. Such a stupid play on his part and to say had Wingles been standing nothing would be wrong is even dumber. I like the Bruins in 6.

I'm guessing those smaller shops aren't getting their Step Edge from Step.
-
I've yet to see Step for edge anywhere other than eBay....and believe me, I've looked.
-
Good advice from the shop. Ease of use and repair to me far outweighs other benefits. You can find Step for Edge holders on eBay. Roughly the same price as LS3. I believe Tyden Steel is available in the US, the MSH Pro shop guy might have more info.

That's kind of how I see it. When I play a bit higher up (closer to that defender) he's on me pretty quick as the puck comes up the wall. Playing a bit lower gives me (the winger) a little bit extra time to read the play. I find, there are very few players in the leagues I play in that can really rip that shot. I think most are worried about getting burned or are trying to figure out if they should pinch or not.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been screamed at for not being all over that point guy. Even had a center start charging out to him off draws cuz I wasn’t getting there fast enough. Of course he had no problem leaving his man down low to bang in rebounds. I see how far off the wings play the points in the NHL. Looks like they are more concerned with the break out than trying to block point shots.

Tons of good info, exactly what I was hoping for. Sounds like keeping it simple is the way to go. Yes, we have some more experienced players who are able to point things out. Most of us know the basics of what we are supposed to do, it’s just doing it and not getting sucked in when the other team does something to counter it. Unfortunately no real time to work on things as a group. Most of skate other nights but not together. I hear some of you talking about having the forward glued to you at the point. Being a forward, that something that’s always stressed to me, but that shot is such a low percentage play I often wonder how crucial it is. I’d almost rather play a little lower, just make sure I stay in that shooting lane.

With the variying levels of talent, experience and player turnover seen in your average beer leagues. Is it even worth trying to play a D Zone system? Would simply sticking to a “play your position” sort of thing be easier? If playing a system or scheme would be worth it, what would be best? Our problem is largely D zone related. Turnovers, chasing the puck, collapsing in and lack of a solid break out. Our goaltending isn’t helping the cause but that’s another story. I thought the Box +1 approach would be ideal. It’s simple enough to understand, but implementing any sort of structure in beer league play is tough. Anyway, wouldnto hear some thoughts from the coaches out there.

Probably the best method when comparing weights, unless the same steel is used on both. Having 1X's myself, there is a considerable difference in weight when the runner is removed.

I think you got it right, same for the person who mentioned Apple. This is fan thread with some general info, nothing more. The reason I (and others) got caught up in all this is fan threads aren’t what MSH is about. What separates MSH from other sites is MSH is able to be fair and objective. No Pom Pom waving BS like other sites. The other facet of this thread that gets me is, the unwillingness to hear the negative side of the argument. Which I think makes matters worse. We all welcome a fair and honest analysis of the product and the users experience as long as it’s a two sided discussion. Once we lose our objectivity, we’re not better than any other site out there. Thsts my early morning low coffee intake rant. I will sit back and follow this thread with the hopes it can be objective, but will refrain from posting.

I get that reps may not be "in tune" with the engineering side of things. This sort of thing is just flat out lazy engineering. You obviously have the means to fix it properly but choose to take the easy way out. I expect more from Bauer & CCM. I expect even more than that from a company who claims they do it better then the big two.

Skates Recommendation Narrowish Heel. Wide Forefoot
stick9 replied to Machine's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Yes, an EE Supreme will have a wider heel. -
Hi @Shayne Toporowski really appreciate you taking the time to answer questions. The Pro Sharp websites lists holder sizes for certain profiles, is that just recommended or are those profiles specific to those holder sizes? I was thinking of going with the Zuperior S. Right now I am just in stock LS4 and Step ST profiles. How would the transition be? Thanks in advance.

@Fletch Your issue may not be your profile or solely your profile. It could be the hollow. The deeper the hollow the harder you have to work. A 1/2 hollow for someone you size is pretty deep. I’d try changing your hollow before messing with the profile.
