Valor Axiom Hockey Helmet (1st 5 star Virginia Tech rated helmet)

I've had good luck with this on a pair of VH skates that had Vegas Gold accents. Just do a good job masking off what you want black, overspray won't come off.

Can you post a couple of pics of what the toe cap looks like now? -
Advice on Hyperlite tongues (possibly switching them)
Monty22 replied to Allan1875's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Ask what the overall length is and see if it's close to what you have. The Graf tongues tend to be on the thicker side, so ensure you will have enough room in the boot to accommodate. The felt would go under the toecap, the leather over and the stitching about where the holes are now. -
Another option that won't damage the finish is Custom Skate Works TT-100 https://kkskate.com/shop/p/csw-skate-tool

Advice on Hyperlite tongues (possibly switching them)
Monty22 replied to Allan1875's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
It's not an overly complicated process to swap them- I've done about 8 over the years. This is an older thread but the info is still good. Switching to CCM tongues would be the least labor intensive- remove the old tongues, and drill holes to accommodate the CCM mounting hardware, snap in new tongues. Done. -

I wouldn't put your 12 year old tongues in the new skates. CCM has a ton of different sizes, thickness etc, and would be an easy DIY solution. You could also easily switch them out if they weren't what you're looking for. Nash Sniper tongues are an option, and Graf replacement tongues are easy to source as well. True tongues are also readily available in multiple styles as well. -
And now you have supplemental pads you can add to shoulder pads, girdles , pants etc as needed.

It's an overlay added to a completed glove. Seam rip away, it's attached with it's own stitching.

Sorry, All sold out.

What about using something like double sided weatherstripping tape or something similar to give you some separation between the boot wall and the kydex to absorb some of the impact energy?

Thanks boys, appreciate the input. Sent a couple emails.

My men's league team is refreshing our uniforms over the summer. I've finally convinced them to switch to green Whalers unis. I've been tasked with obtaining some options and quotes. Who's the go to vendor these days for custom jerseys?

Super easy with an x-acto knife or similar. Just go slow and they come right off.

Nice to have you back Chadd. Sorry to hear it's been such a rough go of it, and glad to hear you're in a good place now.

Help identifying year/info on these Easton Ultra Lite Pro's

No, the size on the holder will indicate the size of the steel. -
If your current skates appear to be the correct depth, I would start with trying different lacing- skip the top eyelet or second to the top. It's free, so try that first. You could probably try a few different variations at one skate. Do the APX2 skate tongues look compressed across where you tie them /are feeling pressure? If so a tongue swap would be the next easiest thing. There are several threads on here on how to DIY. I've done probably half a dozen or so. You can source new tongues from True, CCM- both will have slimmer tongues with different levels of rigidity to choose from. With the CCM's you could just drill a couple holes in the toe cap to be compatible with the CCM mounting clips. Should take about 5 minutes. Or you can use an Awl to stitch them in.

CCM FT4 Pro Skates - eyelets wrecked first use
Monty22 replied to colins's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Those are too far gone. The hole the eyelets shaft goes into has been enlarged/elongated. Putting in new eyelets will result in them just rattling around the expanded holes. -
Guys, take it to PM's - all the purse swinging is cluttering up the thread .

The tape on Pasta's skate looks like it's just for the laces, doesn't really look like it's there for support.

What is the oddest hockey equipment ever?

No, sadly. You may be thinking of the one piece suit from Torspo https://www.hockeyworld.com/Torspo-Ice-Armour-Suit-Junior -

I think those were the CCM chassis. The Vforms (at least the ones the shop I worked at) were some of the heaviest skates I ever encountered. -

The half cage. The shitty visibility of a cage with the lack of protection of a half shield. The worst of two worlds. TBlades
