Finally recovering from what I am guessing was the flu. I was completely out of it for almost three days and I'm still lethargic and a bit dehydrated.

The ubiquity of the holder has very little to do with the design of the holder itself, other than being relatively reliable.

While there are some merger issues, there are a lot of other issues that I see from the outside. Then again, we have plenty of our own merger issues at my company. I now have three different employee ID numbers.

Sothwest has had a ton of problems over the last year or so. Their on time percentage and mishandled bag rates are the worst among major airlines.

There's plenty of room for a normal human being to sit like a normal human being. Unless you are 350lbs, 6'5" or flying Spirit, there is enough room to sit in a seat as it was designed. There's also the issue of clear air turbulence to consider. Many of those more advanced positions require people to unbuckle their seat belt, making them much more likely to be injured in the event of significant turbulence. As for people putting their feet on places where they don't belong, A- it's incredibly unsanitary and B- It's impolite to intrude on the limited space other people have in the confined quarters of an airplane. The people with their feet on the trays and armrests in front of them are usually the same people that go to the lavatory on the airplane without shoes too.

I figured I would do it next week. I'm in no hurry to work any games.

They should be showing the USA Hockey videos. In the past there have been videos on what should and should not be called. They may skip it for level one officials in an effort to not confuse them. I've worked games that finished with one (out of four) assistant coach and three skaters on the bench. Keep taking penalties and you keep going to the box, I don't care how many guys are already there.

There are a lot of refs that disagree with the new standards USA Hockey has been implementing and refuse to call penalties appropriately. It's also early in the season, many guys have not yet attended the seminars with all of the new information. Mine is tomorrow

Usually it's just a case of being impatient and lazy. But doing so quickly is very likely to overheat the steel. Even if someone was trying to get a banana profile, doing it that way would likely still cause problems.
