Not for nothing, but there are more than a fair share of bike people who believe they can do whatever they want and some who probably do deserve to get a bump now and then.

Rupp didn't drag Chara in, Chara was looking for Rupp at that point. If you saw the highlights, Chara switched to the right side at the face off so that he would be lined up closer to Rupp. Now and then your captain has to show that kind of fire and lead by example. Iginla does it in Calgary, Lecavalier has done it in Tampa. Thornton can't do it all the time and he shouldn't have to.

The B's are getting killed in the media today. I think some of it is founded but I'm not sure how much of it should have to do with last night. Here is my take that I've sent to the local B's radio carrier.

Ain't that the truth. "Woooohooooooo!!!!!!!!! I can drink my face off on St. Paddy's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Do it on an ordinary Tuesday and then I'll be impressed.

Hopefully, Cooke accepts the invitation from someone so that nothing stupid happens. Knowing Cooke, he won't accept from Boston's big 3 of Thornton, Lucic, or Stuart, so someone else will have to step up. One guy that slipped my mind until today was Begin. He might be someone that Cooke will actually accept from but who knows, he might turtle on Begin, too. I'm sure Guerin is telling Cooke that he should just take his medicine but tonight will tell the story. On the B's side, they're getting killed on talk radio today with fans calling in wanting retribution but wondering who or if it will be carried out. I fear this pressure could lead to a stupid move if Cooke hides from his responsibility.

Wheeler was game a few weeks back and Sobotka seems like a guy who wants to but can't find anyone to take him seriously. Good point about Bergeron's soft squash although I doubt Cooke can do any damage with his fists.

Best bands that you're not listening to.

For us 80's metal fans, stumbled onto something a little odd, Dokken vs. Chicken. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mhp2XThT48...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNanKfY5T9A...feature=related -
What I think is that players like Cooke don't belong in the game at all. They hide behind the instigator penalty and rarely, if ever, have to answer for their actions. The instigator penalty should be modified so that should a player attempt to agitate the opponent then such agitator should be fair game to start a fight with. Think about it, the point of an agitator is to make an opponent so angry that they do something, if that ain't instigating then I don't know what is.

Lucic would kill Cooke, that wouldn't be a fight. Cooke should fight a similar type player. Maybe Thornton can give a lesson or two to guys like Sobotka and Wheeler and one of those guys could do it. I'd like to see Bergeron continue his leadership by example and take matters into his hands but I don't know if that will happen.

It is high school. Girls don't dump the last guy until they've met the next guy.

In regards to the rematch against the Pens on Thursday, I'm hoping nothing stupid happens. Obviously, Cooke isn't going to oblige Thornton or Lucic so this is a case where Bergeron will probably have to step up and throw mitts.

The precedent was already set that under the current rules a certain type of hit would not merit supplemental discipline. Without changing the rules there really was nothing to be done.
-
You might have a case if it wasn't Matt Cooke. When you have the history that this guy does then you don't get the benefit of the doubt.

Am I the only one waiting for the post in the "Venting Thread" on Monday? :P Welcome back to the game, good luck.

Rumour has it that the skate launch has been pushed back to April.

But will you be thanking them an hour from now, that is the real question.

The problem is that they didn't bury those scoring chances. That game should have been 4-0 by the time the Habs scored their first goal but it wasn't. Sure, the effort was nice but in the end a loss is still a loss and this one could be more of a setback than getting trounced 8-0 would have been.

I don't think it is a coaching issue as much as a player awareness issue. The defensemen have to know when the pass is there and when it isn't. The partner has to be vocal, the goalie has to be vocal, the center has to be vocal.
-
That has been a trend all season. Last year it was the spring board to the breakout where they would go D to D behind the net and then hit the center circling low by the net. How the B's defense aren't recongnizing that they are getting poached an awful lot this season is beyond me.
-
At this point, most of the squad is wondering if they're going to be shipped out so that isn't about to help things.
-
If the B's don't start playing much better then they won't get into playoff games without tickets.

I'd check the company's policy on long-term disability. This reeks of a litigation possibility to me. As for school, if you can't pass the honors classes then you shouldn't be taking them.

Another weekend and another 2 losses. Someone should tell the B's that they've already got a lottery pick courtesy of the Leafs.
