If you're that nervous out there then taking a break is a good idea. We've all heard the old adage, "the easiest way to get hurt is to try not to get hurt." Stay away for a month or two then go to a local kids game, remember why you played in the first place, and jump back in.

Mrs. hooked me up with a new Burner Superfast 3 wood for the birthday.

Just remember, it is easier to continue a conditioning program than it is to start one.

That's a horrible combination. Do what you can to get this friend some help, I'm sure a good google search will help give you some ideas on how to approach the situation.

Keep it up, I'm counting on other folks kids for my social security.

When stuff like this happens I'm always curious to see how the test can be discriminitive. It would be interesting to see examples from the test.

Sucks to lose a gig in tough times. On the plus side, you've got the rest of the summer off. Small consolation but it worked for a buddy of mine and myself when we were both out way back when.

Fixed it for you.

I think the answer is that you can get into Canada but you can't get back into the States.

I can guarantee that the original 20th guy wasn't too happy about this.

Balancing should be included but you're on your own for an alignment.

I love Modano as much as anyone but I would hate to see him hang on as a fourth liner. The Stars made the right decision and Modano obviously knew it was coming with his little North Stars jersey episode. Let him ride into the sunset instead of making him fade into mediocrity.

Sadly, there is guaranteed to be that one Nurse Ratchet. When I had my stent put in the head nurse in the ICU told my wife she couldn't stay on the chair in my room that night. Well, the other nurses were much more considerate and told the Mrs. to stay if she wanted. It was funny the next morning when my wife walked by the morning nurse huddle and heard her ask her team, "Who said she could stay over?" And better yet was when my dad walked in that morning, saw said Ratchet and said, "Morning, Sarge." Keep on trucking and try not to dwell on the possibilities and wait for the facts. Easier said than done but good luck.

It is. I just feel bad that something so legitimately ventable is stuck with kids crying about a broken stick or too much homework. Sorry if my tone didn't come across the way I wanted. I can't imagine what was worse, being there when the 13 year old was told or having to tell the 9 year old about it. Kids and cancer are two words I wish were never in the same sentence, unless it was, "all kids cured of cancer".
-
I'm not sure the venting thread does that justice. That is a special kind of horrible that shouldn't reside with such trivialities as found here. Good luck to all involved.

That's one heavy price for mouthing off.

Tought to beat that first one the ice feeling as the lights are warming up and coming on.

But Obama told us that oil rigs are so safe for workers and the environment. Funny that your post should hit just as I'm posting the quote. Had this quote and spill occurred under Bush's watch then we would have been subjected to 24/7 coverage plus the usual yahoos carrying signs all over the country.

It has been leading the news every day since it happened.

The Atlantic side is still pretty clean, isn't it?

Fellas, you can't have the commissioner reversing safe/out calls from a game. What is next, reversing balls and strikes because we all know that sometimes home plate umps get those wrong from time to time. The call stands. Was it a collosal f---up? Yes. Should they change the outcome of it? No.
