My arrival setup is the base layers under sweats. For post game beers in the lot I'm dressed to hit the slopes.

It's easier if you put the wine glass down.

I've been back out there since June. For my New Hampshire league, the only difference is I wear a mask on the way in and out of the rink. For my Massachusetts league, they still won't let us use the lockerrooms so we show up half dressed or at least already in our base layers and finish dressing around the rink. That is really getting old, especially doing the full change after in a nice cold rink.

Do they feel like they fit well and not shift around while playing? If so, then you're fine. The way I found out a set was just a hair big was when I started developing skin tags on the side of my neck. Turned out the cap was riding up just enough to cause a gentle rubbing and produce the tags. Once I switched to a better fitting set the tags disappeared.

Keep in mind where the curve is on the blade. The 88 is a bigger overall curve but is more gradual over the length of the blade. The 92 curve is more concentrated and will tend to shoot as the bigger curve of the two.

One shouldn't have to list "Fun" as an option in "Other". Regardless of all of the other things, if the kid isn't having fun then they'll never stick with the game long term.
-
Running 1 extra thru the lines isn't hard. He goes thru a shift at each spot on the first line then each spot on the second line then sits. That means every 7 shifts each kid sits one shift. Then you just rotate who the extra kid is each game.

The aggressive pitch is what is causing the hip issue as the games wear on.

It could be a matter of tweaking the profile, +3 sounds aggressive for reffing a lot of games.

I'd recommend drying your gear in a more controlled climate.

Disappointed with Base Hockey

Tape a viagra to the blade. -
Depending on how you line up your sticks to measure and cut, blade length, rocker and lie can have an impact on the effective playing length of the stick. To test it out, hold both sticks together butt-ends to the ground and see how the bottoms of the blades line up. You might be surprised at how much of a difference there is in the effective playing length there can be in 2 sticks you think are cut to the same length. Another thing to consider is the balance of the stick. A blade light stick will "feel" shorter in your hands.

Back to back testing of some new and current sticks
chippa13 replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I wouldn't put a huge amount of weight on the results of this "test". Everybody has their own preference for kickpoints and flex profiles. If you ask someone to "test" something with a different kickpoint and/or flex profile than they are used to then of course something is going to feel off and not to their liking, especially at first. And generally, the higher you go up the hockey food chain, the more this will be the case. -
The ref's arm doesn't go up until the stick lift so I'm guessing he felt the defender's stick got on the hands. Nothing there that would warrant a penalty shot. After going through it a few times, I'm not even sure the stick did get on the hands for the stick lift. That could have potentially just been a good recovery by the defense.

Christian Pro 1000 was my twig of choice as a kid. -
Not surprising. They're scratching for every dollar they can find. I don't even want to know what the escrow percentage will be for this season.

I'd go 5030, no chance I'm putting 2020 on anything. -
I think he'll wait to see how his recovery goes before making any final decisions. The recovery time to "normal" activity after what he is having done is about 8 weeks so pretty safe to say that this season is lost but there is always the outside possibility he could try to give it a go for the 21-22 season. I admired his decision not to get dealt to a contender and stay with the Rangers to try and help them get better. Sad he may never get a Cup as a player but I have mixed feelings about guys who skip town to chase a championship. I'm still torn in how to feel about Bourque raising the Cup in Colorado. I do know this, the Avs should never have retired his number.

Your son was happy each time he went up a size because as he continues to grow the location of the balance point needs to be adjusted. As long as the balance point is in the right place under the foot, he should feel no difference should he go down a holder size.

I still kick myself sometimes that I couldn't find time to meet up with Russ when he and the team were first developing Sparx. -
Streaming world JR games in Canada and the NHL app

The one plus about the US broadcast crew is that since they're using guys that do college games and other stuff for the national program, they tend to have a lot more familiarity with the players. I'm ambivalent about their chatter and I will say, I've never cared for Ray Ferraro. -
Just remember, 2020 could be the new high point.
