  1. Name change to Alkali Hockey. As I understood it, Armada was previously trademarked.
  2. Well, I know the Bauer custom process very well, and those skates were baked for too long. Why would a skate whose materials are internally/externally the same as a TotalONE be baked for almost 3x longer?
  3. ...and Saint John in the CHL AND Binghamton in the AHL.
  4. No, that was in reference to afftondad's post.
  5. RazorBladz II holder has not changed. I can fit NanoGlide (had to tap it in), standard non-Parabolic steel and Elite in my EQ50s.
  6. But that one does have the "more exotic" spinners on it... TefTop is a liquid teflon spray used to slick down the table.
  7. There is a chart on their website which tells you what direction to go to for more/less bite/glide.
  8. Tried all of the methods before I sharpened and then after I sharpened. I tested the methods on the hook fin, then I sharpened and deburred. The only one not to scratch at all was the NanoGlide tool, but it did not remove the burrs as well as the Miraclestone or diamond stone did, even though both of them do indeed scratch the blade. The 220 grit stone doesn't leave a detailed edge like the Miraclestone or diamond stone does. Regardless, you must use the tip of any of the stones. Using an oil-based stainless steel cleaner helps to move the stones; plus it shines the blade when you are done.
  9. Leather block? Well, I have a set coming in for someone next week. I have all 4 options discussed at my disposal - 220 grit stone, Miraclestone, diamond stone and leather block. Also, I have Easton's NanoGlide film. Maybe I'll shoot a video.
  10. Bigger, softer ball - played in Chicago. Can be played barehanded, it's so soft.
  11. STEP tends to be consistent; however, Bauer has made great advances into making their steel consistent. Still run into situations in which it's not (especially when replacing runners) but more often than not it is. It is better steel than stock, if that is your question.
  12. Like I said, honest opinion. The standard does the job; there isn't a benefit other than the mirror finish. Sharpens the same, holds an edge the same.
  13. Honest opinion from someone who has a STEP account? No. But I'll still take your money if you want the bling. Revisiting this thread - even Miraclestone scratches Velocity. I've ordered a few for people and noticed that - but if you use the tip of the stone and hone carefully you can minimize the scratching to the edge.
  14. Still in testing, as I previously stated.
  15. Jim Tressel out at Ohio State. That cheatin' ass bitch.
  16. Been having trouble sleep for quite some time now, plus all signs leading to sleep apnea. So I went ahead and tried to schedule a sleep study but my insurance mandated a dr visit first, to deem it "medically necessary." So I went to my primary doctor, and they gave me a checkup. Not only did I gain 15 lb from the last time I saw him (right after my accident, have gained 25 lb in 1 yr) but my blood pressure clocked in at 156/116. When we were talking about my thyroid medication (I had radioactive iodine treatment 16 yrs ago) I told him I was taking 125mcg. He said "What? You were supposed to be taking 250." What happened was that they don't make a 250mcg pill, so he wanted me to take 2 125mcg pills. I didn't pay attention to the instructions on the prescription as I had always taken ONE pill a day. So, the short of it, the apnea, the blood pressure and weight gain is all caused by my hormone levels being off. So now I'm on a 12-week program to wean myself up to the correct dosage. It's going to suck, as right now I can feel my heart racing.
  17. Join us in NJ for SJ3!

  18. What an idiot. They can't ship it, but someone from the UK can buy in their store and take it with them.
  19. The Jofa 235 is a bandy helmet, not a skateboarding or broomball helmet.
