  1. Pretty expensive is an understatement. That's insane. I'd love to know the cost to produce such a product and the margin.
  2. The announcement had all the feel of an April Fools Day social media hoax. Except it isn't anywhere near April and it was completely real (I think). As someone above said, a lot to unpack between the laughably bad logo and the choice of Kane in the announcement and then the non-hockey related nonsense that really no one has asked for from a hockey equipment manufacturer. And yes, execs are falling over themselves to show they are one of the "good ones" and an "ally." Entirely strange.
  3. Let's hope they learned some lessons from the last time they got weird and made the LS Fusion blades. By all accounts, they were terrible.
  4. Old school Stealth shouldies... Easton RG Camo are amazingly light and form-fitting. Super light but more than anything, super form-fitting. They don't move much at all while I'm playing. That being said, they run warm simply because of how snug they are - it's the only downside to these things. I get quite warm with them on and a heavier sweater over them. I think the tag considered them something like Stealth C7.5 as they had some upgrades over the Stealth C7.0 (namely the Pro version of the straps I believe).
  5. Some of you guys should check out Visorguard. I just put one on my Concept 3 and it's legit. I had reservations about installation and then after install, with some air bubbles and what not but I'll be damned if the thing didn't cure PERFECTLY as they said it would after a little while. I was kind of shocked. Good way to protect your investment. If it gets scuffed, just pull it off and re-install another one. They aren't super cheap but I think worth it at $18. I bought two and I'm still on my first one, although my league suspended play here in MA once the governor put us under a curfew so it's only 5 games old or so. Very similar to the film you'd put on your phone screens (think Zagg products) or the stacked tear-away films you'd see on helmet visors for Indycar drivers (prior to the 2020 season's new aero-shield). You can't even tell it's on my Concept 3 and doesn't change the optics at all.
  6. Jesus that is one hell of a setup you have there.
  7. My One90 gloves. Light, solidly protective, great fit, and the vents helped keep them nice and cool. Great feel and dexterity. And the palm was tremendous. They were still in great shape, I stupidly upgraded and sold them on ebay. While we're on the topic of gloves, any Easton glove with a 13.5 sizing gets a vote from me as well. Bring back 13.5" gloves!
  8. Yea this stick is so old it’s tough to compare to anything current.
  9. Welcome Butch. Where are you from if I may ask?
  10. Ha Tron movie was the first thing I thought of when I saw that pic!
  11. Seems like a terrible idea to me. I'm sure there are better places to take your shooting pad where you could actually shoot a puck or puck like object rather than a golf ball.
  12. Re-bake your current skates and try that first?
  13. I’m generally not a fan of these teaser posts with out any actual information.
  14. Tampa got almost every break in this one and still got lit up. If Rick Nash gets going, look out. Bergeron, Pasta, Marchand is an absolute wrecking ball as it is.
  15. True but being PU leather on the glove part in question I think it'd give you some leeway as opposed to straight up natural leather. Rubbing alcohol is usually effective as well. But definitely would go easy using anything to avoid any real trouble.
  16. Goo gone will probably be fine. That stuff is so ridiculously good at doing this exact thing it just blows my mind. I highly doubt it will damage anything on the glove itself but to be safe use as little as necessary.
  17. Agreed. I think the Curv outer layer plus the closer fit from this new Powerlite design makes them very compelling plus Flex Orb for the knee protection. Generally the supremes have been pretty underrated the last few years IMO.
  18. Let me tell you those almost microscopic carbon fiber splinters suck. I got one from a weird spot on a stick where a shot block on the corner of the shaft ripped off the paint and a very fine top layer of carbon. Above recommended solution of spraying a clear coat of paint works very very well.
  19. RE: OD1N comment, that's what I was thinking as well.
  20. Goes without saying that putting superglue on raw skin is a horrendous idea. They have this stuff called liquid bandage. It's antiseptic and hardens almost like nail polish. It's waterproof and stays on forever until you get bored and peel it. I've become obsessed with it for small nicks on my fingers or toes that can get caught on fabric. I use it often before hockey so I don't get hang ails caught on the soft top part of my gloves. It's phenomenal. Go to a pharmacy and look around the band aid/ first aid section.
  21. Best of luck to you both in all future endeavors JR!
  22. I grabbed a DJPro jersey off of hockeytron for dirt cheap a few months back and have been skating in it for some pickup and even league games lately and I have to say I love this freaking jersey. Fight strap keeps the jersey from riding up in the back, it has a nice amount of stretchiness to it, fairly good mid- to heavy- weight fabric. Looks and feels pretty darn nice and has held up well so far. Thinking about picking up another one tonight as they are down to $9 now and supplies are dwindling.
  23. Question about the 2015 protective... did Bauer ditch the F-One shell technology? What is the deal with the shin shell of the MX3? Don't see anything in any of the writeups concerning this, most of the supreme stuff seems to have just added Flex Orb and 37.5. Previous years usually have beefed up protection with some % of reduction in weight or % of added impact protection (ie - F-One Shell = "25% greater energy absorption and a 15% weight reduction over traditional HDPE shells"). Did they downgrade the shells? Upgrade? Was F-One technology faulty? Or is it still there and just not mentioned in the catalog? Looking into grabbing some high-end shins, considering old stock NXG (with the F-One shell), MX3s, and perhaps APX2s. Just looking for the most protective as I'm getting old and sick of getting dinged up.
  24. Pro control = medium tackiness Max control = maximum tackiness First I have heard of this product. Gets a lot of good reviews on their website though.
