  1. Some Vernon Fiddler Warriors from Smashville
  2. Schneider is Similar to a Lidstrom but less drastic and more gradual. It was a pattern that existed in a former company that started with an “I.” murray was a wedge but not as open or long as a Drury its admittedly a niche type pattern, I’m planning on trying your BC20 soon because it seems to suit my needs. If enough people have interest I’m happy to provide a sample.
  3. If they did, I imagine it's only on the EE skates. So 7.5 D would have a smaller holder than 7.5EE, but maybe someone could confirm/debunk?
  4. im sure I’m in the vast minority but I’d like to see the old Schneider or Murray resurface. Open heels with a low lie. I’m about to dabble in a BC20 and BC21 and see if they work. Also, count this guy in for a few Hull lefties, for nostalgic purposes.
  5. Welcome to the sharpening club. Remember, owning a sharpener, and knowing how to sharpen are two very different things. Keep practicing on old blades until you're proficient. Doing your own is great as you learn the feel and the nuances. 1. I once asked someone knowledgable in wheels which was the most popular among NHL EQM's. The answer was Blue and I've used it ever since. I believe pink is for softer steel blades, and likely not the best choice for stainless steel or harder blades. If i were to experiment, I'd try Blue, White or Orange. 2. If the edges are level front to back on the blade, I wouldn't be too concerned with how many clicks it took to get there. You could always pick up a calibration block to ensure the jig is set to its original state if you're concerned. 3. I'm not an FBV expert and admittedly useless here.
  6. We’re also confusing a “defect,” and “less than aesthetically pleasing.” A defect would shorten the life and durability of your skate significantly. This is not the case here. I would be willing to bet a significantly higher percent of larger manufacturers skates leave the factory with these same anomalies, and significantly worse. They’re just hidden behind window dressing graphics.
  7. I'm assuming by "new" you mean the factory stamped edges. If your sharpener doesn't have a cross grinder, I'd recommend giving it 12-18 passes at a very shallow hollow, 1 1/2" or so. this will remove the round edge and polish. once you can feel a somewhat crisp edge on both sides of the blade toe to heel, do the same to the second new blade, then dress your flat bottom and sharpen as normal
  8. ...And this website is comprised of a small percent of a small percent of the hockey playing community who are hyper aware of the gear they use
  9. I would say there are likely a small % out in the open with this aesthetic anomaly, and a smaller % of that % who care that much about something so minor.
  10. The fit before and after baking (at least in the MLX) is a night and day difference. In regards to the Aesthetics, thats just what hand laid carbon fiber looks like. CCM and Bauer covers these up with exterior graphics, True/VH just have a more "raw" look to them. Nothing of concern imo
  11. Taller than retail Pro sticks have a fused extension. You can clearly see two separate pieces, the plug tenon and the outer shaft.
  12. almost all cosmetic. OPS would fill that gap with resin and paint over it. Not much to worry about IMO
  13. Those magnetic level tools are a huge pain In a high volume shop setting as they attract every speck of sharpening dust in a 12 foot radius.
  14. I think the older ones were shorter
  15. There are two different generations of True blades, one short hosel, one long. I think the earlier ones were more the culprit for breaking
  16. Ive got an arsenal of 6.0 Standard shafts and blades. Had that happen once with the short hosel variation but no issues with a dozen or so other blades i've used
  17. Has anyone ordered a BC21 or BC91 that could provide some actual photos? trying to compare/decide between the two.
  18. That was a hell of a game, from the little bit I remember of it
  19. Maybe an issue more with the shaft torquing open than the blade? I've had that issue with a few combos
  20. Found these lurking in the depths of PSH
  21. Viva Las Vegas Wonder how he feels about this. I'm ambivalent as a Blues fan. Solid player but disappeared for long periods and made a few too many turnovers.
  22. Embrace Bucky!!! 🤣🤣🤣 i can say, in this state, a degree from Madison holds a lot of clout and separates you by miles from other candidates in job interviews.
  23. SOunds like their retail offerings will all be imported, with only customs being domestically made
