Custom Glove Gallery (questions and answers)
shoeshine boy replied to elpresidente99's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
here ya go: I like both cuffs but prefer the blooming because I think it has more mobility than the standard. -
though I'm not a fan of the Eastons made for the Thrashers for that season I have to disagree about the overall color combo for them being "ugly". look at Kovy's Thrasher gloves. some of the best Warriors ever designed and who cares if they're a bad team? some of us like the more unusual designs. on another note, there's a guy playing in the higher levels of the adult league with a pair just like this that Easton had made for Kovalchuk. I imagine that he never even put them on.

that was kind of the point that I was trying to make. not sure why the Warrior Canada people wouldn't oblige when the Warrior USA customer folks were making it happen seemingly very easily. -
yes. the gloves in the auction pic were the same except that the "Warrior" on the cuff was white with blue outline. mine is (obviously) blue with white outline.

Red, White and Navy Franchises bought off of Ebay: slightly different than the gloves that were pictured. not a big enough deal to complain about but I dropped the seller a note to let him know that he shouldn't do that.

Warrior AK27 Pro gloves blacked out with India Ink: a few spots have turned out kind of "shiny" and I have no idea why. you can kind of see it on the index finger of the left glove. any ideas how to fix this?

I don't know, I don't read the reply I got from Warrior Canada (posted on the previous page) that way at all and if that were the case why wouldn't PSHG just tell me that instead of saying, "we'll ask but can't guarantee."? as previously stated it seems like a customer service problem on Warrior Canada's end. -

I never thought that I was going to get the Hossa cuff for no upcharge in price. I stated very clearly to PSHG that I was willing to pay the upcharge. they said that they would ask but couldn't guarantee. fair enough. my gripe isn't with PSHG, my gripe is with Warrior Canada. there is absolutely no reason that they shouldn't be able to accommodate these requests at time of order for the extra charge as evidenced by the fact that shops going through Warrior USA are doing the work for the extra fee. it sounds like Warrior will be adding cuff options to the customizer in a few months so maybe it'll all be moot anyway. if/when I order another pair of Franchise customs I will be going through a shop that deals with Warrior USA. Warrior Canada clearly has some customer service issues evidenced by the fact that it took over a month for me to get a reply. I paid over $250 for my gloves so I expect better customer service than 5 weeks to reply to an email. -

those familiar with this thread may remember my issue with my latest pair of Franchise customs, Kovalchuk clones that I ordered through PSHG and asked for but never got the Hossa cuff. Joe from Warrior USA suggested that I contact Warrior Canada directly and see if they could do anything about it. over a month later I finally received a reply: Hi, Unfortunately at this time we can't do any custom additions that are not available online. This also includes sending the cuff at a later date as per your request. We are working on adding the Hossa style cuff and other options onto the customizer, but at this time, they aren't available. Have a nice day, Warrior Canada considering that Warrior USA is perfectly capable of granting these special requests this reply is just mind-boggling to me! -

if he ordered through PSHG then it comes with a standard blooming cuff. -

well...yes, they did get my order correct but they do not deal well with special requests such as Hossa cuff. I kind of get the idea that they either don't want to be bothered or are afraid to ask Warrior to do it. here are both of my pairs done through PSHG: both pairs were done with white stitching down the stripes. for the maroon ones I simply took a fabric marker and Sharpie to them to make the stitching match the stripe and I can 100% confirm the presence of the VA-80 Propack and name. that said, if I get another pair I would probably go with somebody such as Ice Warehouse so that I can get the Hossa cuff. I asked for it on my Kovy clones and was told, "warrior might do it". it seems like everyone who deals with Joe from Warrior USA has no problem getting these little extras for the extra charge. -

the specs I submitted for my Kovalchuk clones would have cost $302 on the customizer. this included yellow mustang palms ($20 extra), mesh gussets ($6 extra), name ($6 extra), number and pro style ($10 extra). the PSHG gloves come standard with VA-80 with Pro-Pack Foams (an extra $16 on the customizer) and name stitched on the cuff (an extra $6 on the customizer) PSHG charged me $266 which included shipping. the mustang palm is very soft and supple. I don't like it as much as the Eagle MSH2 but since that's not an option..... -

100% sure that their prices are in USD. I've used them twice for Warrior customs and yes, they deal with Warrior Canada not Warrior USA and as such gloves are shipped directly from Montreal. PSHG are great people but I have one word of warning: don't expect them to help you get any custom mods like special cuffs, colors or materials. I don't know why they won't work with Warrior on this but they won't do it. -
I thought so but the pic looks a little brown so I wasn't sure. can't wait to see the finished product. :)
-
is that the brown or the black?
-
thanks for quoting every single one of those gigantic pictures.

I have a Malkin just like it, "Meigray" tag and all. I knew when I bought mine though that it was a knock-off. I've seen some where they have the game-worn tag with spelling errors. hysterical!

I believe Ice Warehouse is good at accommodating special requests. the big thing is that you want to go through a retailer that uses Warrior USA rather than Warrior Canada. Joe at Warrior USA is awesome when it comes to customer service. he couldn't help with my gloves since they went through Warrior Canada but he did help me with some other Warrior related issues that I had. -

if you go through PSHG don't expect to get any mods such as a Hossa cuff. I asked for it on my last pair but didn't get it. trying to get the problem fixed but Warrior Canada (not to be confused with Warrior USA) apparently doesn't respond to emails. -
those turned out well! the green is more subtle than the computer rendition.
-
thank you for helping me feel a little more normal. ;)

I got mustang on my last pair of custom Franchises and love them BUT I also have multiple pairs of gloves and am not generally hard on palms so I doubt that helps you. I have found the standard micro-nash palm to be a great palm as well. not as good as Eagle's MSH2 but that's not an option for non-Eagle gloves anymore.

it's not too bad but I've got black spots all over my yellow laces from the paint rubbing off. I think it's something to do with the material that the tongues are made out of.
