yep, $99 a pair. my first pair of red gloves. I've been waiting an extra week for them thanks to Snowpocalypse. I was hoping to have them last Friday for a tourney with my red & white team but the weather delayed them until today. :(
-
took advantage of the Monkey's deal on PPFi's last week. sooooo glad to see that they are pre-Vaughn Eagles!
-
painted my Vapor XXXX's black. before: after: very pleased with how they came out. never really liked the original design. all work done with a Sharpie Paint Marker.
-
there were also some that are called custom but are sold retail like the ones on the Monkey: http://www.hockeymonkey.com/warrior-hockey-gloves-franchise-custom.html
-
mine are indeed maroon and not Phoenix red. one other note on mine: they came with the standard white stitching down the front. I used maroon and black fabric markers to make the white disappear.
-
I have a teammate who writes a popular blog on the Thrashers. he knows almost nothing about hockey gear but MLX sent him a pair for free to "review". he hasn't had a chance to use them yet. so unfair!!!!
-
I'd only do it if they were offered without those horrid graphics. can't stand the way they look.
-
lol! I have a pair of gloves that would go with those. they're not purple though:
-
couldn't resist that Daily Hockey Deal last week at the Monkey on '09 Warrior Franchises gloves are navy, btw.
-
these are Pro Style Atlanta with my choice of colors: the only difference between these and the material options that the customizer gives you is that I switched the material on the pinky stripe from Tufftek to Classic (leather) because I wanted to incorporate all the material options into the glove not to mention that silver/gray is not a Tufftek option and I wasn't sure how the silver would look in the carbon.
-
nice to see that Bauer endorsement deal's working out for you. couldn't get you to switch to the sticks though?
-
I have 2 pairs of carbon Franchises and my gf has a pair of carbon Creepers. these things are beasts! my gf has had hers for almost 2 years playing 2-3 times a week and they still look brand new.
-
gotcha. do you find the fingers on the Savard to be shorter? the fingers on the Eagles are tiny. pretty much the only reason I can wear them since I normally wear a 13" in Warriors and a PPFi in Eagles.
-
I have Savard's Eagles from his days with the Thrashers. is this the Savard cuff that you're talking about?
-
anybody that can tell me when Pothier used these it would be appreciated. seems like the 2007 World Championships is most likely but I can't find any photographic evidence of it plus hadn't MIA already switched over to the Warrior name by that time?
-
Traded the Reasoner Warriors that I bought at the Thrashers sale for Pothier's MIAs. they'll need to be cleaned up a little and probably need new palms. very unique pair of gloves though.
-
those are pretty sweet! who did you go through to get them?
-
all leather?
-
nope that's the Ice Complex in the northern "suburbs" of Atlanta. it's a brand new rink that opened in August of this year. the league is not rink affiliated. REALLY nice facility. :)
-
Technically we're not playing but..... Summer season CHAMPS!!!! :)
-
kind of both those are beautifully composed pictures.
-
are you doing special stuff like a Hossa cuff?
-
just curious, whom did you order through?
-
very nice TBL gloves. classic look. :)
-
my first pair of Warrior customs were 12 inches (no inserts) and my second pair were 13 inches (with inserts). I felt that there's a HUGE difference in size between 12 and 13. probably a bigger jump than between any of the other sizes.
