  1. I had 2 Trigger ASY's and they both had those same cracks, they didn't effect much and once the blades started cracking and splitting I didn't even pay attention to them. The sticks lasted a good time once the blades were cracking/splitting but both eventually snapped a little higher up on the hosel area. I now have a pair of Trigger 2's that I've played a few games with and, so far so good, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed hoping they're more durable.
  2. You can also try a new insole, something like Superfeet yellow or Carbon will lift the heel in the boot slightly and might make you feel more comfortable. I did this with my Vapors when I got them since I had a similar feeling of leaning backwards, it was just enough to make me feel right again.
  3. I'll have to weigh them later since I still have the Bauer's but I feel like they're similar in weight. I hated the Bauer's because I felt like they were really lacking protection wise (I even added some additional tailbone padding since it didn't feel like it went down far enough).
  4. Tried my Super Tacks girdle for the first time last night... overall I really like it compared to my old 9K. Couple of observations compared to my old 9K (both are size medium, also I've previously worn the following girdles: Easton Synergy HSG, Bauer One.8, Easton Synergy circa '03ish, and an old Bauer one from the late 90's)... - it's def lighter, something I noticed more as I started playing, it just felt more streamlined but without sacrificing any protection (actually felt more protective in spots: tailbone, kidney, and even the hips). - The thigh boards, I was concerned about them since they're now connected in 2 spots compared to just 1 on the 9K, I was worried it would feel more confined but I never noticed during my game. Another thing about the thigh that I didn't notice when I first tried the girdle on at home... it's much narrower/tighter, I have skinny legs and the strap barely makes it 1/4 way on to the velcro on front before I feel it's too tight. The straps on my 9K were so worn out with hardly any elasticity left in them so it took a few mins to get used to the tighter fit. - Spine protector... this thing is huge! The 9K barely had anything there so it's nice to have some added padding back there, I just need to remove the lower back padding I added to my shoulder pads (to make up for the shortcoming of the 9K's spine protection). I like that you can adjust it up or down a couple of inches, the girdle has a lot of great adjust ability. - belly strap/closure... this is odd to me, it's almost as if the girdle is confused whether or not it wants to be a traditional step in or a wrap style, personally I'm a traditional step in guy so I would have liked it to be closed like the 9K was but to each their own. - lack of sock velcro - this was the first thing I was disappointed in since I loved that feature on the 9K. I ended up taking some velcro and making a tab that connected to the existing loop side on the spandex short (the thigh board connection spot) that went down an inch or so where I could attach my socks to, it worked out great. So those are my first game observations. Overall I really like it and look forward to using it more.
  5. Too large mainly in waist/width and a touch longer than I prefer. Also, thinking back now, I remember thinking if the belt was on the outside of the shell (the way Warrior does it) then I would've been able to tighten the waist up better, I wasn't a fan of the internal belt (also FWIW I never use the loops to connect to the girdle, I slide the girdle on/off and don't want to be bothered with unnecessary velcro loops, maybe I'm just lazy haha).
  6. I had a large PP90 and it was way too big for me in my med 9K girdle... I'm 5'9" and actually prefer pants/shells a little on the looser side but the Lg was too big for me. I have a couple of mediums and a Warrior 9k type shell in medium and they all fit perfect, the Warrior is slightly larger than the CCM/RBK ones I have.
  7. I just picked up a brand new pair of these in a trade so I'm going to bump an old thread. Coming from an old, well loved, 9K girdle my immediate observation was how much lighter this girdle was. I've tried it on and it feels really mobile right out of the box (bag?). I feel like the thigh pads are a touch more narrow/form fitting than the 9K which I'm liking, they wrap my legs better (I have skinny legs). My biggest complaint so far is I don't see any velcro tabs for the socks, that was one of my favorite parts of the 9K and I've eliminated any sort of garter belt/compression short I had used in the past in favor of a CCM pro jock, I guess I'll have to take a trip to Michael's to pick up some velcro and get creative with a needle and thread haha
  8. Nice pics @dkmiller3356, must've had some super amazing incredibly awesome photographer take them haha, it was nice to finally meet you in person!
  9. Just saw him at practice on the Rangers IG in a pair of Verbero mits, guess he got some new ones and is breaking them in. It's the second pic in this post:
  10. pretty sure they stopped cracking down on that after the first week along with the crack down on tilted up visors.
  11. The internet and forums such as this have been around long enough that there's really no excuse for people not knowing the basics of how this stuff works. Sites like Flickr and imgur are out there offering free image hosting and make it so simple to copy a bbcode for an image in order to post in in a thread, this is how every single forum I've ever been on has worked for the past 20 years. And on that note I now feel like an old timer and like I just yelled at kids to get off my lawn haha, but in all honesty, I agree with JR and it has always been a pet peeve of mine.
  12. Those QR Edge gloves look awesome. I saw Warrior post about them yesterday as well as about how some of the Warrior guys in the ASG were using each others gloves. These remind me of my CCM HG12's that I love so I'm really looking fwd to hearing more about them (hopefully Warrior will do another Full Circle podcast soon to discuss the new Edge line).
  13. The only thing that looks odd is how the right skate looks as if he snapped the lace and tied it back together at that 2nd from the bottom eyelet, aside from that it looks pretty standard unless I'm missing something else. What bothers me is how the right sock covers the tendon guard but the left doesn't haha
  14. Aside from the design, which I'm not a big fan of, can someone figure out why they insist on keeping the fake collar ties? And then why they would put them so far beneath the collar where, if they were real, they wouldn't actually do anything? I know back when they came back in style the collars were made to work with them, then they went to fake ties but at least they were still in the right spot, but now Adidas puts them in an asinine spot... wtf?!? might as well just put them on the sleeve at this point since it wouldn't be any less out of place than it is now. ok, sorry for the rant, it has just bothered me for quite a while haha
  15. I agree about those 2012 jerseys, the color scheme was beautiful but the logo didn't look good at all. Their Stadium Series jerseys were also pretty bad, so hopefully they don't get a third strike this year. Oh and I personally loved their heritage jerseys, I was hoping they'd keep that as their regular dark jersey.
  16. meh. It's ok, pretty classy but I guess I expect more flash for WC jerseys (esp. after the Habs/Sens jerseys that were just revealed which were really nice). Side note, I can't stand what Adidas has done to the collars, they're all atrocious, esp. the one with the fake ties.
  17. shhhhh don't give away his secrets. BTW, I guess the power of his chromed out mask wore off and he went back to the more blue one last night. He got a shutout so I'm guessing we won't be seeing the chrome one for a while.
  18. anyone have details on how he mods the cuffs on his HG12's? I heard he snips a few threads on the end to improve mobility but then I saw a pic from the Sens twitter of the EM taking scissors to the bottom of the middle of the cuff area, anyone have detailed info? I'd love to modify my HG12's but don't want to ruin them in the process haha edit: after looking at the pic for the umpteenth time I now realize the EM is prob working on getting the red covering on the cuff and not snipping anything
  19. Hank must be behind that
  20. So jealous of those Mega Air's, I wanted a pair so bad when I was younger but only came as close as getting a pair of the Bauer Air 60's (I think they were 60's, def not the top end one). So I worked out a deal with the league I play in to shoot photos of some games and occasionally bring my camera on the bench to take photos between shifts if we're winning by a lot (and/or have 3 lines to give me enough of a break). Last game we were up 6-1 late in the third so I set my camera up and asked a teammate to shoot some photos of my line (since I'm never in any photos), he did a pretty good job: October 24, 2017-7236-J. 21. Back to gear sightings... Zuccarello was back using his Easton Stealth last night, so much for the Alpha
  22. I'm pretty sure the Rangers are requiring every player to wear some sort of shot blocker on their skates, like they did years ago with the gloves, so there's a bunch of them with the black adhesive kind (last year a bunch had them too). I also agree that the blacked out skates often look much better than the originals.
  23. Zuccarello was using an Alpha QX last night, not sure if he's been using it other games since it was the first game I've been able to watch since the opener (which I'm not too upset about considering how dreadful they've been playing).
  24. I know both Zuccarello and McDonagh tried Super Tacks sticks towards the end of last year for a few games but both switched back to their old Easton's, I think McDonagh has stuck with the Super Tacks this year though. Nash is still using a Synergy.
  25. if it gets any taller it might as well be a Hans Device
