  1. A couple from a game last week. I was lucky enough to have a teammate, who is getting pretty good at photography, handle my camera while I was playing (and since she is recovering from foot surgery she didn't have a choice 😆).
  2. disclaimer - I am in no way an expert, pretty far from it, but I did find mention of the Quad .5 while searching this site when I was researching profiles a few months ago. I had originally tried a Quad 1 (that Pure Hokey recommended), it was nice but I felt it was too short in the front, felt I was tipping forwards a little too much, so that lead me to the Quad .5 which was my glass slipper. For the record, I'm in a 7.5 skate (263 blade I think), '9" and about 165-170lbs if any of that matters. Again, as for the technical stuff I don't know much lol, just know this one happened to work well for me.
  3. Was just buying a stick for my 6yo and saw that Bauer has a new curve called a P01... unfortunately it's only on their kids sticks but wow it looks great, it's like a less open less heal kinked P28, had a nice straight section from heal to mid blade then a nice toe curve, just wish they had a senior version.
  4. I don't get the cream shells... why not tan to match the gloves? Or at least swap the white on the jersey/socks for cream to match the shell? Reminds me of a mis-matched Beer League uniform.
  5. Yes, most accept returns if you have not used/damaged the product. I bought mine from Pure Hockey online and returned it to their store since I was in the area. Just be exstra careful when installing it and testing around the house. Not sure what sort of guarantee anyone has once you've tried it on the ice.
  6. I wear a small V08 (and medium in Bauer's). Cage and helmet size don't really correlate since everyone head and face sizes are different, I typically wear a large Bauer Profile II and Reakt cage, CCM cages never fit right, medium is too short and large too long, damn Goldilocks syndrome 😣
  7. They're designed to fit on all helmets in theory so yea it should fit. I bought one and returned it. I put it on my V08 and it just felt a little too short, like my chin was left exposed a bit (this was my concern since it was a "one size fits all" senior shield and, in my experience, I've always sized up in cages to get a proper fit). I flipped the clips upside down to see if that gave me a little extra length and it I found it wasn't as easy as it is with a cage... the flipped clips gave me a little extra length but they changed the angle (of the dangle?) and the shield didn't even come close to sitting in the J clips (no matter how I adjusted them) and also left 2 slits between the helmet and top of shield that were large enough for a stick blade to easily slide into since now it was angled outwards ever so slightly. So my conclusion was mostly that shields don't fit my head/face correctly so I'll stick with my cage, too bad because it was a nice looking shield.
  8. Might have better luck in the 2019-20 thread:
  9. Just saw this pic on Step's FB page with a different view of Kuch's skates, I don't remember seeing this one posted yet (and most images are blocked at work so sorry if it's old):
  10. Someone on S2K snagged a locker room close up of the skates, I don't want to steal his photo so here's a link to the post: http://www.sports2k.com/forum/index.php?/topic/5078-2019-2020-pro-stock-sightings/?p=364894
  11. yea, pretty sure the image of him with STX gloves/stick was from training camp, he was also using a Warrior at some point in camp but once the season started he's been in full CCM. From what I can guess you prob. won't see him in CCM marketing since he most likely didn't sign an endorsement deal with them (honestly that additional money would be pocket change to him).
  12. Teammate grabbed a couple nice ones of me last night with my camera, nice to be on that side of the lens sometimes (I'm a league photographer so I shoot between shifts, I try to teach some teammates how to use the camera in hopes to be in photos but usually the results aren't that great, last night I played with another photographer who knew what they were doing 🙂)
  13. I just checked out their website, yikes. Best part was their Mission Statement, looks like something Michael Scott would write.
  14. Good to know, thanks! I've never used a full fishbowl so wasn't sure, I just know with cages they have S, M, L and they all fit very different which makes it tricky.
  15. How is the sizing on this? I normally wear a large Bauer cage (Profile II and Reakt) and CCM cages never fit right (mediums are too small and larges too long). I see this shield is a one size fits all so just curious how they manage to accommodate all different face sizes.
  16. I've seen CCM post about it recently on IG and it honestly caught my eye. I've never been a fan of bubbles but this one intrigues me, wonder how they'd look on a Vector.
  17. Reminds me of a couple of Titans I had back in the early 90's with that concept, concave on the fingertip side and convex on the palm side.
  18. It kind of reminds me of Lego hair on his head
  19. Here's an E/P28, a Kuznetsov pro stock, and an old school Jagr Koho pro stock blade which I used to love (it's a straighter more closed toe curve so I included it for the hell of it) Curves by Jon Schusteritsch, on Flickr
  20. I don't get many photos of myself since I'm usually the one taking them (I'm a league photographer and shoot photos between shifts in games I'm playing in), but every now and then a teammate grabs my camera and manages to catch me (I've slowly been trying to train a few guys haha).
  21. yea, doing a google image search returned images that don't look quite like the one I have. I have a Warrior Alpha that I got from PSH last fall, I'll snap a shot of it next to a P28 when I get home later.
  22. If you want to go pro stock check out the Kuznetsov curve, it's basically a closed P28. I bought one from PSH to try but found out rather quickly it was too closed for my taste and stuck with my other P28's. Looking now I don't see anymore on their site so my post is useless haha, sorry.
  23. One of my favorite pieces of gear 😄 I found mine on ebay from a seller in the US for about $50 shipped but was very close to ordering from the Russian guy.
  24. The shells come in different cuts... the pant style ones like Nexus are a more boxy roomy fit to work well over pants, a girdle shell is generally a bit more fitted and sometimes has additional padding in the kidney area or a very thin piece of soft foam padding behind the thigh depending on the model (not sure exactly what this one does, it's far too thin to be protective and most girdles already have some protection there). Some of the fancier new girdle shells have velcro to attach to loops on some girdles, they're not necessary but some people like them (I come from the time before these and tried them once and haven't bothered since, the velcro closure on the front of the shell and the belt hold things up just fine and this way I can slide the shell on/off 1-2-3). As for the CCM Tacks shell... it has the velcro loops and also has some padding in the kidney area but it is all soft padding, the older 9K style shells went higher up and had plastic inserts in the kidney area.
