My bet is no.

They don't look good at all. Those stamped eyelets also seem like they won't last either.

Its not a longer profile but taller at the toe and heel. Both regular and xl come in 10' stock profile. It will not offset putting a larger holder but you can always profile your steel for more blade contact. Op, here u go https://tydanblades.com/collections/player-blades/products/ls-pulse-ti-xl-edge-runners

I have a feeling the TPS brand is going to essentially be a branded blackout sticks. But that's just a hunch. Don't think they'll offer anything that will get me to stray from a CCM or bauer on clearance or gepettos pshs

Fwiw, the instructions I think call for 5-7 mins baking time? In reality it should be like 7-10. When I baked it cat pros which are the same as the 9s shell, it was barely moldable after 7 mins.
-
They may not be wide enough for your feet but it doesn't mean they aren't for wide feet. Just depends HOW wide you need them. Depending how long you baked them it also could've not been hot enough. And you would t be punching the forefoot, to increase volume/width you'd stretch them which is a different process, but you'd need to leave it at the shop for a couple days at least to do it properly.

I see these a lot with trues. They will tell you it's not an issue. Epoxy and cf won't be compromised from water. And that's just the outermost layer. The problem I have with this is not only is it sloppy/lazy work, that area technically is structurally compromised as you can probably pick it with your fingers and cause the CF to fray. The outermost layer is mostly cosmetic and likely won't affect the OVERALL integrity of the boot, but still not acceptable imo when you're spending $1500 bucks. The good news is you can easily just fill those with epoxy yourself. That's what I would do vs shipping them back to true to do and pose the skates for 1-2 weeks.

Oh right this one loll. You're right

The tuuk perforated steel has a bunch of little triangles. This looks more like blade tech steel with the notches. The true shift steel has one notch in the back and these look just a couple more. Maybe for weight savings.
-
Well only way is to find out. No one has your feet. General answer is yes it would open up a bit but to how much you actually need, only way is for you to do it. You can always stretch the boot too. With trues it's easier bc the entire boot is one shell and doesn't have a junction where the plastic toe cap is attached to the quarter package.

It's a proto... It's gonna probably look nothing like this so there's really no point picking away at what is or isn't on the skate.

Tuuk Custom + holder LS Edge replacement
Sniper9 replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Also keep in mind that with ls2 holders you generally want to drill a hole in the rear of the boot to access the bolt to swap the steel unless you want to remove the holders every time you switch steel. -
Tuuk Custom + holder LS Edge replacement

Same. It'll be an easy swap. I love the ls2 holders too. And the good thing is you can still get quality dlc steel for them. companies like jrz still make em -
I wore a d supreme and wear a fit 1 in machs. the cat pros I got made for me were made in a wide shell to accommodate my pinky toe. They fit fine but the only thing was that there was a lot more wrap after molding than say if I had a regular width. It was fine but it could create flexion issues for you as theres less "lace" that stretches a bit, and also make it even harder to get on and off.

If you're from Canada, the sport chek friends and family sales include them at 25% off

Cat 7 is fiberglass. Cat 9 was carbon fiber. Totally different construction.

Rubber hone works fine for me to deburr pulse ti and step dlc after it's been sharpened on my sparx.... Unless you're talking about actual nicks
-
I personally would always expect to wait about 2-3 mths for custom anything

I had the original superfeet yellow prior to speed plates and found they were fine. But after speed plates I didn't like them, mainly because it had my heel sit too high up with the carbons. Haven't tried the comforts though, which seems like a softer version of the original yellow. I like a stiffer insole so I tried the carbon first. May eventually give the comfort a shot once I'm through my speed plate stash.

Trouble with quad 0 profile
Sniper9 replied to Connorbrown08's topic in Technical Info and General Questions
A banana blade would definitely be shorter of a radius than 10' imo. Since youre in New skates steel and profile id give it a lot more ice times. Maybe 12 hours to really get a feel for everything. -
Custom True SVH (?) or Custom CCM FT6 pick one.
Sniper9 replied to Beflar's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Nothing will replicate the trues. It's a totally diff build. Rock hard quarter with super thermo fromable facings. No other boot offers this. You can add all the padding you want with ccm and make it feel as close to true as possible but then you get into the territory of making them feel bulky which is what you are trying to avoid. I look at the ft6 pro and XF pro and they look huge. Like snow boots. Because of all the extra foams in them now. If you are chasing a more agile skate you technically want something with .ore flex and less padding so they are more streamlined. So really, Bauer. Lol. But I'm only speaking theoretically since I haven't worn ccms since the as1s. -
Custom True SVH (?) or Custom CCM FT6 pick one.
Sniper9 replied to Beflar's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Cat pros and svh were pretty much identical to me in terms of fit and feel. The cat pros didn't mold as much as the svh when heated up but still very thermo formable. It wasn't anything I noticed once the skate was molded but just by squeezing the boot right out of the oven, the svh was softer. I use the stretch wrap to bake all my skates even non trues as it gives me the best wrap and molding. The cat pros didn't feel anymore agile nor did I notice more flex as they advertise. They are still very stiff boots and stiffer than anything ccm or Bauer offers at retail. I wore them the same way as my svh which is dropping the top eyelet otherwise I felt like I was wearing casts. With my machs, I tie them all the way up. The cat pros just felt a bit lighter but everything else felt the same as the svh. Oh I will say with the cats I didn't feel as connected to the ice/edges. With svh I had to go down a hollow, with cat pros I went back up to my standard which I found odd. I love my machs. They fit perfect and I have no complaints. I tried the hyperlite 2s in the same fit and the toe box was about 1/4 size longer than the machs so it made me in between sizes at retail. Tried half size down but it was way too tight. Otherwise the hyperlite 2 felt decent aside from the irregular length. -
Custom True SVH (?) or Custom CCM FT6 pick one.

The thing I notice about true skates is that they are so comfy yet so supportive and stiff. The comfort isn't compromised by the skate feeling too "softl/plush". I haven't tried the ft6 pro or XF pro but I would imagine with that much padding it'll eventually pack in and feel sloppy? And even if this doesn't happen I would imagine it feeling less locked in. You can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm using machs now and it's been very good for me in terms of balancing the comfort and agility. Not as comfy and connected as trues but the bit more agility I get from it, is worth the sacrifice for me. Even though the Mach isn't as comfy as the trues they're still very comfortable. With the route the supreme line has gone with the shadow, I can see myself going back to trues in the future.... The one thing I really liked about trues is that I never had to fiddle with lacing tension. Once molded, they were set and the laces were tied with barely any tension. -
Skatescribe profile, anyone skating on?
Sniper9 replied to Hockeydad97's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
You guys find the hollow for skatescribe a bit interesting? The edges don't feel as sharp as traditional sharpenings (by touching with your fingers/fingernail). But also if you look closely you can see faint horizontal lines on the hollow which traditionally on regular hand sharpenings is considered a no no. But skating on it feels completely fine. I know it's a completely different method of sharpening so traditional rules don't really apply.
