I found the a series 75 to be pretty damn good and can manage with the 68 intermediate. You guys think I should go with the 68 ax9 then, as the 75 would feel too stiff if I liked the 75 in the a series? I briefly had the xc9 in a 68 and it did seem a touch stiffer than my a6.0 in 68. Not by a full flex rating though, maybe 5 at most.

Are the 9070 covered under the 3 mth guarantee? Regardless good upgrade for u!

Baking true skates, and even other top end skates isn't just to accelerate the break in period, but to increase wrap and decrease negative space. I'd argue baking skates these days has hardly or very little to do with "breaking" them in. They probably feel good to you now because you're comparing them to retail skates you've had in the past. You should 100% bake them. But if you do, do it properly with shrink wrap and heat them for the full recommended length of time.

The textreme is great. Bauer imo has the best blades. I had the original 1n for over a year and barely if any chips or cuts on the blade.

What flex ?

Whatever you get will just break again at the rate you're going at. The common denominator is looking less likely like a random steel issue. I take passes off my skate all the time and have never broken step Steel. Or any steel in the last decade, ls2 and ls3 included.

Then you may be forced to choose another skate. Can't have your heart set on a certain make and model. You need to try everything on and go with what fits best.

This area shows it's obviously too wide as it's not allowing a proper wrap. This area is the part I'm talking about that seems a lot more narrow than I've seen on others with vapors esp for a boot that's supposed to have very little volume. From the pictures AND the fact you have creases in areas where there are gaps I think it's safe to say these skates are too wide and or have too much volume for you.

You shouldn't measure width on an insole just length. Did u even try on the d?

The distance between the left and right facing/eyelets. Never seen a vapor fit so narrow

They do actually look too wide for some reason. The eyelets 7-9 don't wrap the tongue. U can see the gap between the facing and tongue... Not sure if that would be the issue but it does appear like it should wrap more. Also, I never seen vapors with such little space between the inside and outside eyelets especially bc they are the lowest volume fit. Are you sure the width isn't too wide and u have smaller than avg width feet?

Did u walk in them during or immediately after the bake or skate on them within 12 hrs of the bake? Can u post pics of them laces up so it can show whether the volume is right?

I've tried quite a bit of sticks over the past two years. And the following is rating for sticks relates to my personal shooting mechanics. To preface I never take slapshot's in a game and rarely even take snappers. I pretty much just take true wristers. I haven't used a CCM stick since the rbz stage 2. I'll be ranking the following: first gen Bauer 1n, 2n pro, qre, qrl, hd1, a5.2, a6.0 ht, ek365. 1) ek365: overall gave me the best slapshot. Even though I never take slappers in the game. I never had a better slapshot with any other stick I've ever used. Surprised me bc it's a low kick and low kicks aren't really meant to be big boom sticks. Wrist shots popped as well. And even snappers. Overall I haven't had a stick which was this versatile. Super light and the price point is super low for the performance you get. Only con I have with Sher wood is that their sticks feel stiffer than their flex rating. About 5-10. I sold my ek365s to try the next two sticks but I regret it now bc it's th beat overall stick I've used to date. 2) a6.0 ht : like the ek365, lots of good things. Good pop in all three shot types. True plays a touch softer than other brands I think which I don't mind. Blade is stiff and feels a touch pingy but only really noticeable vs the 2n pro. Currently using this stick. 3) 2n pro: the best puck feel I've ever experienced. Night and day vs any other stick. So much control due to the feel vs pingier blade. I had high hopes with this stick bc of it's mid kick and sweet spot tech etc. But, I noticed shooting wasn't great with it. Snaps were avg at best. Wristers were good but no better than the above 2 sticks. Slapshots very disappointing. I thought this stick would have been the best for slapshot's bc the others I've used were more or less low kicks except the a5.2. Wouldn't buy this again esp when the above two are much cheaper options. Currently using this stick. 4) a5.2/1n: these two performed very similar imo. Same weight and flex profile. Prob overall same as the 2n pro but better slap shots. Used each of these for just over a year before I sold them so durability was good. 5) qre/qrl: didn't see much diff between these two. Wasn't a fan. Slapshot wasnt there. Even wrist shot wasn't great. Probably bc it's such a low kick point it for the true snap shot player which I am not. Listed weight was light but balance was pretty blade heavy. 6) hd1: wasn't a fan at all. Felt heavy. For how it's advertised I didn't have much of a slapshot either. Wrist shots were avg at best. I didn't use it much as I wasn't a fan right away and got rid of it after a couple stick and puck sessions. So all in all if I were to do it all over again i wouldn't have sold my ek365 sticks. Had five at one point and scored them for about 115 cdn each. Sold them to try lower flexes (65-70) Waiting for the m90 to clear when the new Sher wood comes out in the summer. I heard the m90 is more or less the same as the ek365. End of the day that's just my experience with the above sticks with respect to my shooting technique and shot preference. I don't really need a stick that gives me any type of slapshot since I can't even remember the last time I took one in a game so realistically the 2n pro would be best suited for me since I like to stickhandle and take wrist shots. But all hockey players have the slapshot ego... Lol. And I like to know I have it in my back pocket if I ever needed it.

Which email did you contact? I sent it to their stick warranty and their fit tech email on their website. Both emails replied the following day They also have a live chat that is available until 11pm est which is impressive. I initially did the live chat and was able to send pics through that. The rep advised I should email the fit tech so they could further assess the picture. I was/am actually quite impressed at the prompt service from them.

They replied today. So less than two days. They assured me it was normal from the manufacturing process.

It is retail and I've emailed Bauer and attached pictures. Just waiting for their reply. I used it tonight and the stick does feel solid and doesn't seem like it will be an issue but that's just from first impressions. I got the stick online so I'm pretty sure they will say to contact Bauer as all online sale warranties etc are done through Bauer directly anyways. If it were bought in store if probably bring it in and try to swap it.

Thanks for the reply guys. I figured it is only the outermost layer. The line itself isn't a huge concern to me but more the fact I can feel the slight ridge. Also a couple spots on the stick there's actual unevenness. Here's the pic. Overall handling it and flexing it, there doesn't seem to be any issues. Haven't shot aroundwith it yet though.

For those who own the 2n pro stick, is this ridge down the middle of the back of the stick s defect or just how it's manufactured? You can also see the seam on the top but doesn't seem as apparent.

Bauer cut resistant socks. Either old or the new s19 version. I like how the Kevlar isn't slick like Dri fit is, and they are the perfect thickness (imo). Vs my underarmour hockey liners the bauers lock the feet in the boot better bc of the Kevlar material. Mind you, I really like my UA hockey liners too and wear those for stick and puck.

This was also the same email that contacted me advising my stick was on backorder and asked if I wanted to wait until March or if I would accept an similar replacement. I replied to this email with a list of options and asked them to update me if the options I listed were available. Then a couple followup emails asking for an update with no response.

Good for your customers.... But so far my experience is disappointing. Probably won't get a true stick online anymore if I potentially have to go through this dragged out process.

Long story short, I broke my true stick within the warranty period. I got the stick online via a Canadian website so the Warranty process is the same as US retailers where you submit an online form. On Jan 14, I get an email a couple days later advising the warranty is approved but my stick was on backorder until March, and they ask if I wanted to wait or if I would accept a similar replacement. I reply giving a list of options and ask them if that is ok and to advise me of the outcome. Nothing. I sent two more emails over the past two weeks simply asking for an update regarding the situation with no response. I called them today, and of course there is no answer and I left a voicemail message for call back. I'm getting pretty frustrated with the lack of communication. All I want is an update. A simple "we can't honor those options therefore you will have to wait until March" would suffice. I just need to know the status so I can plan around not having the stick for the next couple months. Anyone else deal with the online Warranty submission and are able to provide the timeline for when you received your replacement?

Never had this happen on my trues. Only time I've seen this was when the waxed laces was baked with the skates. I've used Howie's and elite and this never happens when using them on trues normally.

Ya two sets is nice but also means 2x the profiling, unless you like the stick profile.
