  1. Is this the p92c? So what's the deal with this pattern?
  2. Could it be due to sweat? I found in the past if I got pretty sweaty the liners of my trues wouldn't wick away the sweat and would cause it to feel slippery especially in combination with dri fit type socks. Maybe try 100% cotton socks which absorb and not really wick sweat so it doesn't cause a layer of sweat between the socks and liner. I know the tf7 comes with a wick liner but it's all I can think of esp since you said it was fine during the first part of the skate. Also, loosening of the laces could be the issue too. Btw did you just spot heat the area causing you issues to fix it?
  3. Lie should be the same if both are p29... U can also put them next to each other just to be sure though. They are diff kick point sticks with diff blade technology so maybe that has to do with the difference on feeling ?
  4. Isn't the makos .5 smaller than ccm and true. For example isn't it recommended to get an 8 mako when you're a 7.5 Bauer or ccm. So if that's true, then wouldn't it mean the trues are the same as ccm and Bauer.
  5. How the hell do they know at the assembly line what size is what then??? Are u able to confirm whether my theory of s08-7 means 7.5 and therefore the true size 7 would be s07-7 or similar.. or address the number codes identical
  6. So the 7.5 shows 7?
  7. What do the stickers say on your skates, specifically the 7.5. I'm interested to see if it actually should say 7.5. If so, then @jrchecker8def for a size 8 with an 8.5 tongue If half sizes are around 5mm longer, it COULD be why the 8.5 feels a bit too short and the 9 feels a bit too long if he's in between half sizes.... Since half sizes should be 3-4mm different.
  8. The regular foam for padding is red. The same thickness and material as the red footbed which is 1-2mm max. The grey toe box inserts are thicker and one adjusts for .5 size (approx 3mm) For my true customs my left skate doesn't have the insert but my right does since it's .5 size smaller. Not a huge deal but I also don't understand why true does this. Each boot should be true to the foot size and unless your feet are so far off it causes u to have two diff holder sizes on each. But even if this were the case you could technically have an oversized holder for the smaller boot so both end up with the same holder size. What's weird though, is my right boot is about half a size shorter in length. I measured it and also you can tell the holder on the right comes up a few mms closer to the end of the toe. Oh well. Whatever. I should just be happy that I have no issues with my skates and they fit perfect.
  9. Fair enough, but I wouldn't be trying to do things like pull out foam to try to increase the length of the skate. I'd return both and re order another 8.5 to confirm whether the skate he has is mislabeled or that for whatever reason, the size discrepancy between the 8.5 and 9 seems more like a full size diff.
  10. Are you not at all able to go to a store to get try them on? Personally I'd return both at this both and start from scratch.
  11. I'm thinking does s09-8 mean size 9 but made to fit like 8.5? For example size 10.5 would say s11-10 How does the size 9 sticker look like.
  12. There must be something that indicates the boot being a half size otherwise how would they ever know which tongue to put on. Seems weird to me. Also i would imagine 8.5 would just be the same as a 9 with toe inserts. Doesn't make sense that 8/8.5 use an 8 boot. Something seems off here.
  13. If a 7.5 and an 8 both have the same length, technically wouldn't it mean both should have the same size holders? You shouldn't have to pull that price out for the skate to "fit" if the size is mislabeled. Did you ask the regional rep if the sizes are stamped on full sizes only or half sizes too. This will confirm whether there is in fact an error, and if so just order the proper size.
  14. For my next pair. If I can save 500 on pretty much the same performance and comfort in skates, why not. You'd think 8.5 would be a 9 with toe plugs in the end cap to make it half a size smaller though, not the other way around. The padding is likely just a thin strip so your toes aren't exposed directly to the carbon she'll and adds some padding. Im pretty sure you got a skate that, like you said, had the wrong tongue put on. If I were you I'd return both skates and order another 8.5. The good news is it's not your mistake and the shop should honor the exchange. Reach out to them via Instagram or Facebook. The person who handles the social media accounts is really good at replying. Just send him the pictures via either those platforms. I'd suggest Instagram since it looks like it's more active.
  15. You said they fit pretty identical to the as1 but more comfy. Sounds nice since the as1s killed my feet during the break in. And even after breaking em in, or should I say, breaking in my feet lol, they still have me some hot spots here and there. My main issue with the as1 was where the toebox met the quarter package on the outside (pinky toe). It had barely any /no padding and the piece of plastic dug into my left pinky (more than my right bc my left is about 1/2 size bigger). I actually had to put a thin strip of foam in my as1 to make that area more comfortable and seamless. Anyways. I heard that the as3s are now lined with the comfort lining throughout the entire inside of the skate. Can you confirm whether they have padding in that toebox junction, and if so can you post pics?
  16. I'm a size 7 left and 6.5 right. I might just stick with customs and forget about the guessing game with sizing since most shops don't stock these and mainly available online. Although sport chek does have returns in store for items purchased online. And phl has free return shipping. But who am I kidding. My current custom trues are only a year old and have years of life left.
  17. Lol that makes total sense now. But I'd be interested to see if half sizes actually are stamped in that area or if it's another code indicating it's a half size.... Maybe someone on her who got a half size can chime in with a picture of theirs. If this is true, glad it worked out. Are your footbeds size stamped with stickers? The customs had sizes on their footbeds. As for your jetspeeds, that's why I asked which version you have bc ad mentioned previously, your version jetspeeds aren't true to size. So your 8.5 fit more like 9 in CCM/Bauer now a days.
  18. What jetspeed skate did you have btw.
  19. Ccm is longer? Wasn't the trues longer? Everything I've read is the Trues 1/2 a size bigger not shorter than CCM and Bauer.
  20. If you took the advice form @Hills you'd be wearing an 8R, as he's saying you should go down half a size from Bauer / CCM. Using the saran does push the heel a bit more into the pocket, but it a depends. I personally don't think you should be a 9R. Never try to wear thick socks to fit into a skate. The only thing I can think of is that when you're skating your feet swells a bit so that might be why you feel more of the toe cap. You use the word crammed but sat not crunched but then say crunched when you're on the ice? I'm confused. Try adjusting the tongue and how far it goes into the toe box. The further the tongue is in the toe box, the more it'll flatten your toes and they will spread and becoming "longer" causing them to touch more of the toe cap. If this isn't the issue then you can see if there's a foam liner at the end of the toe box that you can peel off to give you an extra mm or two. You can get the felt tongues through true directly, on sideline, or a local true dealer in-store. Your issue is kind of weird how one size seems too small and half a size up seems too big. And regarding the can't return the skates bc they are baked, most places won't even be able to tell is the skates have been baked or not. The issue will be they ur steel is sharpened.
  21. If u heat gun that area until soft you should be able to easily push it out with minimum to moderate pressure from the inside of the boot. My guess is you aren't heating it enough, or these boots are no where near as malleable as the customs. But those indents do not look normal.
  22. Not only the design of the stick but all their protective. Made me not want to try the new stick at all.
  23. Which arch inserts are u using low medium or high? Can u feel these bumps even if u tie them somewhat loosely? Can u feel this "bump" with your fingers inside the boot? If not it could be your foot and not the actual boot. Especially if you say you feel it with both skates, it's less likely a manufacturing defect. What I'd do is tie them snug , somewhere in the area of how you would during game play. Then use a heat gun and spot heat that area just enough so it softens. Be careful not to overheat and don't just point the gun into the area and hold it there. Fan it back and forth a bit holding it a few inches away. That area when soft should relax and it should be enough to have the problem area loosen up just enough. This is assuming that this area is too tight and or has an area that doesn't conform to your door shape in that spot. You can also do the tissue method by putting a small shim in the form of packed tissue on ur foot where u feel the pressure. Heat gun the area u posted, put the skates on, and the shim will create space with the softened area of the boot. Both these methods prevent u having to rebake. I personally think the issue may be because the boots are stock and the baking instructions are only 6 mins. Far less than custom trues, so they don't get quite as malleable as the customs so some oddities between ur foot and the stock skate isn't resolved as well as if the boot were baked longer and softer. That's why I like the heat gun method. You can attack the exact area causing u problems. Of course there are many other reasons causing the discomfort like ur actual arch vs the arch of the skate. That's why I would fiddle with the arch inserts and even leave tension first before going with the heat gun.
  24. So I'm assuming the as1 is the tightest fitting? I just get confused because the use of taper with the ft1... In their other protective lines like pants. The ft1 is taper fit but snug. The tacks pants are anatomical but not snug at all.
