Yes, that's a convection oven and functionally the same as most skate ovens.

Thanks for all the info on this thread Chadd.

This will be the 1st time I have baked skates in a convection oven, I've only ever baked at home in gas fuelled ovens.

Anyone ever have a problem with the screw anchors not seating properly? Outer left skate in the front is driving me nuts.

I got a slightly longer bolt to replace the one that I had that was loose. The extra length pulled the T-nut into the sole a bit and it stopped spinning. I forgot the exact thread and length, but I took the bolt out of the sole and went to the hardware store and found what I was looking for.

Just heads up for people ordering the shift 1, came with tuuk+ and if you wear Mission 8E, you need a 7D if you like it snug......I ordered 7.5D and will be returning them.

My 10EE s500s are as snug as they can be and I got the exact same fit from a 10.5 Kor Shift1. I am using shift2s now and I needed 10.5 again.

My right side big toe rubs slightly on the inside of the toe box. Should I place something under my heel to lift the foot up slightly in order to fix this issue?

I couldn't understand why you would buy one? I mean if you have an oven at home it does the same job, no matter what.
Especially when the blackstone oven is around a grand. Not a big fan of their oven either, ours was a pain in the ass..

I got the same problem on the same boot. It's where the toe box and boot meet. The stitching is killing me. I put some tape over the stiches but it doesn't help that I need more volume. I would love to just cut out a big circle where that toe box flange is and then cover that up with something.

Hey Chadd,

What made your oven such a pain in the ass?

I thought Blastone oven was $2.5k (list price. Per my experience, you can negotiate with them but I don't think they'll come down to $1k)

I just received my pair of Shift 1's from HG. I have a quick question that I didn't see anywhere on this thread. I bought these skates sized to fit my right foot, left foot is almost 3/8" longer so the left skate is pretty snug in the skate, like the toe is on the verge of bending, but not quite. ( foot still sits flat) If I size up to a 9 then the right skate is less than optimal for a performance fit. There seems to be a good amount of padding in the back,

will baking get me the 1/8-2/8" that I need to have a perfect fit?

thank for any advice1

Now I'm in trouble, yet another booth I won't be welcome to visit in vegas. ;)

It didn't come up to temp, the power switch broke, no timer, no temp control knob, no temp gauge.

Don't recall the exact price we paid but this was several years ago back when the dollar was much stronger. I'm sure prices have gone up significantly.

I'm no expert, but I doubt it. Their padding foam doesn't have a lot of give (pretty stiff stuff).

You won't get that from the padding, but baking will allow your heel to drop back further, and this should give you that 1/8".

Also KOR skates need to be baked to have the best fit possible B) , it's not optional.

Again, that size chart for the Shift 1's that was just posted appears to be a 1/2 size too big. I'm a 10 shoe and was a 8.5 in Bauer's and I've worn a size 9 Kor for over 2 years that fit perfectly.

I don't see any problem with the chart, the chart says 8.5 Bauer = 9.0 KOR - So in terms of skate to skate its accurate, but shoe to skate its a little off, but nobody should ever start figuring shoe size to skate size, because shoes are build totally different. If you stick with the skate to skate conversion the chart is fairly accurate....that being said I will never buy skates off the internet from some "chart" - I learned my lesson in June 2002.....but everybody has a lesson to be learned.

Does anybody know were ( besides Dave Sports Shop who don't have my size ) sell KOR's at a LHS in the Twin Cities of Minnesota???
