Well, I don't know about Nike, but Innovative did /does make a shaft for particular sides (Innovative Novius had a "boron spine" that had some supposed science behind putting something into backhand shots while benifiting strong side slap/wrist shots)

Yep, some of the Nike Ignite shaft models were concave on only one side to afford better grip... in concept atleast. Good idea that gave way to double concave sidewalls for not only grip, but better overall shot performance.
