Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 OK, I think almost everyone that uses MSH is a bit of a gearwhore, but what is the one thing you go for more than everything else.If you look at some of the picture threads, Buzz, Ponty etc etc have huge stick collections, others get skates, and some gloves. So, what is it for you, or are you fairly even with your spending, and why?For me I am still playing a low level league, so I can't justify a $200 stick for my 40 cent shot.I'm a glove person, just realized it today, when, after buying a pair of the RBK team canada gloves last week, I am contemplating getting the XX in the sell section.I have CCM Vectors, Mission HE750 (white, I needed a pair of white gloves!!) and now the Team Canada RBK, which are lovely gloves, love em.So, whats your weakness when it comes to gear, and why?The beginning of my glove fetish... number21 3 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 I relly like those Canadian RBKs Allsmoke! The Canadian Olympic Eagle gloves are pretty great too!I want to be a glove whore. But I have to keep myself in check to not give in and spend money on gear i don't need. (quietly saving up for a ring for my girl)I have these 5000s. I also bid on a pair of Ottowa style ones on ebay , but lost in the last seconds.I also have these second hand Coopers I started with last year. I love them but they were already well used when i got them and got pretty crusty after a couple of months. There were some black and red coopers on hockey world for $25 i wish i would have bought.I also have some cheap-ass eastons i got to use outside practicing on my in-lines. DamnLocust 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 My biggest addiction is sticks, but there's a place in my heart for gloves as well. I've trimmed down both of those selections a bit through selling/giving, but now I turn around and realize I've got 4 pairs of ice skates. :( I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.edit: not three hours after posting this, I went out and bought another stick. back to square one, i guess

Patrick67 1 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Shafts, different curves of RB's.I Tinker all the time with my curve, which is fine, but alot of times I buy a curve very different from my current one júst to try it out.e.g. went from Drury clone -> Warrior Smyth -> Bauer p106 -> CCM 19curve -> to now wanting to try the Rbk Datsyuk.Have alot of different curves/rb's in my basement, but only use the current one, rest are collecting dust... :-(And I'm in europe so it's too much of a hazzle to put anything in the sell section. AnthonyJTa 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 Team Canada RBK, which are lovely gloves, love em.Nice! I'm glad you like them. They are a great glove, they were just a little roomy for my liking. For me, I'm a sucker for sticks... I know it's not as bad as some of our counterparts, but I was up to 8 OPS'... I never used a handful of them due to patterns I didn't like, too stiff, etc. Where I'm learning myself, it's taken me a bit to adjust, and lighten up on the flex. While sticks is my main weakness, I do have other vices, ie: the RBK gloves, purely an impulse buy, used them a few times and they sat there.
Allsmokenopancake 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 The beginning of my glove fetish...How much were your RBK's. Never really liked them before but they look rather niceThey were $30 shiny new dollars thanks to AnthonyJTA and the MSH sell section.I couldn't be happier with them. The one thing I love about the H750's is the air ventilation, and the RBK's have that too, not quite as effective in my opinion as Missions, but still a big help to me (after losing my glove on a faceoff thanks to sweat.I think the monkey has them in their clearance section.Honestly pictures don't do them justice, they are even nicer in person

davis 0 Report post Posted June 8, 2007 I don't think I've quite reached "gear whore" creditation yet. I have the potential to be, but I usually manage to curb my urges to purchase new stuff. I could easily be a glove whore though, and I'd be buying new sticks everyday if I allowed myself. I have back-ups of everything but only have sticks in multiples. With all the out-of-season sales though, I might have to pick up some new twigs.
