Use a seam ripper and follow the holes already made in the plastic when it comes to sewing it back up.

I'm sure I'd find a way to mess that up.

Finally skated in my 75's last night. Felt fine at first but a few minutes in I got pretty bad pain on the outside edges of my feet, right in the middle of my foot lengthwise. Felt like I was just having some pressure being applied there. I loosened them up a bit and it helped at first but they still hurt after a while. Anyone else have this problem or know if it may get better with another bake or after break-in?

I had the same issue on one skate. A re-bake and more ice time, now the problem is gone.

Easy to get used to the 2.1 steel? i intend to buy one95 Junior skates. Anyone changing from 2.1 steel to LS2 steel?

Will one75 stiffer than XXXX?

Here are some of my initial thoughts after my first skate with my ONE95s.

Just to give a basis of skate history, I have severe tendinitis spurred by my arch collapsing in ONE90s two years ago causing my inner ankle to grate against the inside of the boot. After this I went back to using my broken down XXXs which alleviated the ankle pain but brought considerable lacebite, from there I went to a new pair of XXXs which aggravated the tendinitis. I tried G35s, but couldn't acclimate myself to the Graf style even with LS2 holders. My original XXXs just couldn't make it past the two seasons of use after I first wanted to shelve them, so I was back in the skate market. All skates were D/R width and 7 with the exception of the ONE90s, which were 6.5. Since I bought my first XXXs four years my foot has thickened, but not lengthened.

As an aside to all my skate woes I severely sprained my ankle eight months ago and after persistent pain I went to a UPenn ankle and foot specialist who informed me I had a calcaneal navicular coalition, essentially the elimination of a joint and fusing of two bones in my left foot leading to increased susceptibility to sprains. On top of this I have a congenital deformity causing me to have overly lax tendons in both ankles. This has attributed to a considerable amount of slippage and rolling in my left skate, and awful post-playing pain.

If you've managed to make it this far, I'll start talking about the skates haha.

I tried on XXXXs and ONE95s and instantly knew the 95 was the proper fit. The heel lock was incredible and I felt like I could wear them out without even baking. The only fit issue I was concerned about was that my toes weren't accustomed to not being cramped together as in my XXXs. After baking they were perfectly formed to my foot and ankle.

On the ice the only difference I felt was the 2.1 steel which seemed cumbersome at first when starting, after an hour I didn't even notice it. The extra support was very noticeable on ice as I made turns and movements that usually caused my ankle to twinge with no mal-effect. Everything I've read in DarkStar's thread and JR's review describe the feeling of the 95s perfectly. The response is awesome, and by the end of the second hour the way they felt while turning and striding was unreal. Best of all, my ankle didn't hurt afterwards.

I'll add to this after my game tonight. Thanks for reading this, I can be verbose at times.

How long do the one95s need to cool down after heating? 24 hours?

A couple of hours, but we always recommend 24.

Stick them in the fridge for a couple and you should be fine.

After my game last night, I still hold my same sentiments though i will think I'll swap in standard LS2 steel.

Also, I've been wearing Superfeet Grey in these and I think I recall JR saying black or yellow, any reason why?

black is thinner, takes up less volume. Yellow is the new version of grey but is wider.

According to the NBH catalog a size 9.5D comes with size 280mm LS2's. Is it possible to fit 288mm LS2's on the 9.5? Thanks.

it happened again!!....in my 5 shops for 5 miles in 5 hours hockey skate shopping spree - I ended up buying skates in the first store I went too. This time I started at Lettermans sports instead of Daves sports shop, because they have some kind of "membership" pricing gimic. Anyway long story short. My XXV's were not fitting that well even though the skate performance was execlent in speed and cutting back in forth on dekes, at the end of the day my feet were not happy.

So somebody recommened old Vectors because they were wider in the forefoot and narrow in the heal, LHS was out of stock. So I tried on Mission AG120 because I heard wide in forefoot narrow in heal rumors....anyway they were too shallow for my liking - somebody want to say potential lace bit....A previous try on KOR shift 2 yeilded no luck on my size....

"....So when in doubt and have a 20 mile drive, better try on the One95....." :lol:

comparing to my XXV's - The one95 is wider in forefoot and narrow in the ankle area. That being said during my 20 minute "walk around" - I then took off my socks and noticed red "hotspots" underneath my inside ankles on both skates. Had them baked, but I don't think LHS guy turned up the heat enough they did not seem too warm....

I skated twice now just in public skating ( no hockey ) first 1 hour - then 2nd session 1.5 hours....The "hotspots" under my ankles has yeild low level blisters - but I think as more ice time is achieved these will be good skates..

I just picked up some one75's and i was thinking about getting some superfeet and i wondered if they are much thicker than the insoles that come with them and if they are worth getting for your skates.

I've been wearing my ONE95s for about a month and a half now and I absolutely am in love with them! I did do the Letterman's Sports-thing, it was the only was I was going to be able to afford a pair. The main reason I felt comfortable doing this is that I was coming from Supreme 8090s and many people I talked to and asked questions to on this site told me that the fit was similar, except that the ONE95s were a bit of a deeper boot. This is actually a good thing for me!

I placed my order with Letterman's and received them about a week later. I then took them across the border to a skate shop in North Vancouver, BC and had the same profile and hollow put on the blades that they did to my 8090s. After picking them up a few days later (They only profile after hours a few days a week), I asked their recommendation on a shop to have my boots baked. I then visited said skate shop and had them heated up. They were fantastic, and thought it was cool I was able to get them for the price I did. They also at first thought the D-width was going to be too narrow for me, but after they were on they said "yeah, I think those are going to work just fine for you." Thanks to the folks on ModSquadHockey.com that gave me that tidbit of info and said to order a D since I was already wearing 8090s in a D!

So I FINALLY got to skate in them...my first thought was that these are the stiffest skated I've had on my feet since my old Supreme 7000s! I really liked how my heel fit in the ONE95s compared to my 8090s, it's almost "locked" in place. In fact, I can almost feels like I'm breaking a seal or something when I take them off. I mostly use these skates for officiating and they give great protection for my feet as far as being whacked with sticks and pucks. As far as the LS2.1 blades, I honestly don't notice much of a difference. If anything, maybe it's a little easier to hold my speed when skating because of the extra length? The only thing I'm going to change is adding Superfeet. I used the grey ones in my 8090s and they really cut down on knee pain, probably since they gave me something to "push" on besides a flat surface? I could be cheap and take the old ones out of my 8090s, but I'll probably just buy a new pair for the new skates.

All in all, I really feel like these are the skates I should be wearing and wish I'd had a long time ago!

I have had a few pick up hockeys in them now and they are feeling real good, were before with my XXV's after about 45 minutes I would look at the clock and say, "when is pickup going to be over, my feet are hurting...." Now after the full session I look at the clock and my feet say, "What over already? I could go another 45 minutes!!!" LOL

These skates have a classic combonation of being super stiff on the outside, but soft like slippers on the inside...

Kind of like the Twix bar - you know it is the soft carmel inside with the cookie crunch.

The lining does not absorb sweat like the regualr "clarino leather" lining of my old Supremes, its kind of wicks it away. So after a game of hockey you take off the skates and the inside is a bit slippery...but because of good heel lock and fit, "foot stays put"

I guess thats why they call it the "Hydrophobic Clarino synthetic leather liner" I mean I am not an English major but I think

Hydro-Phobic is a fancy way of saying "Afraid of Water". LOL

All in all, I really feel like these are the skates I should be wearing and wish I'd had a long time ago!

Yes my feet are happier - now don't get me wrong I performed very well in my XXV's, but after about 1/2 hour my feet would start to hurt and leg cramps sometimes because of the fit of the skate was not for me - I think the forward pitch of XXV's hurt my knee's too. The One95's fit my feet so much better, now its a little harder to "weave" in and out of people with the puck because of longer blade but I will get used to it. And LHS shop guy said I could always switch the shorter blade of my XXV's with the my One95's because XXV's has lightspeed2 holder with grey accents, and One95 has lightspeed2 holder with blue accents - but I will keep the 2.1 steel for now. I can skate a whole pickup session with maybe 8 guys on a team and my feet still don't hurt because soft inside and hard shell outside - like I said in above post

P.S. one time last week I was backchecking and chased a guy down from behind and lifted his stick and cleared puck, when I got to the bench the guys where gushing over my skates and one said, "....dude when you were chasing that guy its like you put your skates in another gear, its like you turned on the after burners....." I just said, "Its the One95's they are like tanks man - tanks with jets..." LOL

Just a quick question, are the retail One95's available in C width. I'm to too too sure if they are, but if they aren't, what do I do to get my hands on a pair.

HG has some sizes in a C width. I got a pair from them. I believe they still will have an A width heel (regular heel width) vs AA (narrow heel width). Not to say they won't work for you.

Got my custom One95s in 8.5 C/AA today. Had to order at a VERY long distance as I'm now overseas. So far so good (unbaked and unskated on). Somehow they are slightly narrower in the forefoot and toe box than the retail 8.5C, which works better for me. The felt tongues are great too, much better than the thick classic felt tongues I got on a pair of custom XXXXs (at a distance too).

PS: I still wouldn't encourage to order customs without getting fit. Here I just can get rid of skates with no financial loss if they don't work for me.

I have a One75 question. I like a stiff boot, but would this boot be too stiff for someone in the 150-160 pound range? What's the depth like compared to first gen RBK's?

I am 130lbs and the one75 is perfect for me............used 50X times and they are still nice and stiff..........alot of factors to take in for that question

I'm 150lbs and I just got the one75s and have used them for a couple of stick and puck sessions for a total of 4 hours of ice time. In my opinion, it's stiff in all the right places - laterally at the ankles and in the lower quarters. I can flex forward properly in these skates whereas i couldn't properly, without pain, in my synergy 800c's. My graf ultra g5's were also flexible forward-wise, perhaps a little too much, but were way too flexible laterally.

so to answer your question, assuming your skating is fairly decent, i would suggest that the one75's are the skate for you, assuming you like the pitch of the lightspeed2's and the fit of the boot.
