JR Boucicaut

Crosby's nut shot

Recommended Posts

Wow. Such a little pussy. He wont fight anyone fair and square but when his teammate has a guy down on the ground hell go up and punch him in the nuts. He would. He probably saw a man on all fours and forgot were he was for a second and went for the reach around instinctively.

No, but this looks like it's about to be one!

You almost made me spit my drink....that picture is classic. Great article in THN about him being the most important face in the NHL...

"Now he needs to find his voice" In this case, we all want him to find his balls.

I'm not sure, but didn't he drop the gloves with Ference last season...

I thought it was blatantly high. The fact that they muffed the call that badly kinda killed the high I usually get when I get to see Buffalo lose.

As a pens fan I thought it coulda went either way. The ref didn't signal as to either I believe so I guess Toronto had full discretion?

I thought if the ref waved it off, TO would uphold that, if he said goal TO would uphold that, as they have to decisively prove they could reverse the call.

As is, after getting shutout by Tampa Bay, Sid and the Pens have plenty bigger things to worry about

That's the NFL, as far as I know that rule doesn't exist in hockey.

The video review official has full authority over the play, they don't defer to the on ice decision if they can't figure it out, they just have to make a decision. They do not have to have conclusive proof in order to reverse a call.

he's a pansy. cant even throw a punch properly. if you're gonna fight a guy, dont take the guy already being taken out by your team mate. be a fucking man.

he is certainly no angel - im just saying there are plenty of other no name guys in the league that do the same stuff - but it doesnt end up on the news

And it doesn't end up here either. But apparently people feel a need to somehow validate themselves by pointing out the shortcomings in others. Ignore the fact that the guy is a great player, is more patient than he should be answering stupid questions from the media, and takes exponentially more cheap shots than he delivers. Let's point out how he's not perfect and pretend we've made some startling revelation...

Don't put him on a pedestal and others won't have to knock him off, pretty easy really.

Nobody puts him on a pedestal. It's more the haters that pretend others feel he can do no wrong so they can feel better about themselves by putting him down. I wonder who was given the quest of "knocking all people on a pedestal down." It must be a great burden to bear, having to make sure nobody gets too high on their horse. I'm glad my life isn't so empty that I have to constantly be on the alert for others' shortcomings.

No its not the haters that pretend. Some act like Crosby can do now wrong and when he does something like this and gets called out for it the general response is "he didnt do anything wrong". Or this play happens all the time etc etc etc. If fanboys didnt pretend he did nothing wrong the so called haters wouldnt have to put him down.

I think our point is pretty clear from the rest of the group: Crosby...you ARE an elite player...so start acting like one.

I don't ever remember Gretzky punching a fellow player in the exit hole. NO ONE in hockey history had as much hype...and was scrutinized...like Gretzky. Take recent examples of all the hype of Stamkos, and the enormous amount of scrutiny he his under for not having a Calder trophy year as of yet. I watch him quite a bit on center ice, and I don't see him bitch like Crosby for every call he didn't get, or swing for someones' Christmas ornaments. Talk about expectations...what about Tavares? This kid has been the next "great one" from age 14. He has been under the microscope for YEARS. The media last year called him lazy, talked about him being out of shape at the start of last season, said he was bored of playing Juniors...talk about pressure...at his age it is almost ridiculous to imagine that kind of pressure. What does he do? Show up this year in the best shape of his life, and from what I have seen is about to show what he is made of in the next two weeks.

Sorry if many of us have little sympathy for him. Like I say at work to people that cry about their time, "sympathy is found in the dictionary between shit and syphilis"...no pun intended Crosby.

Pretty unsportsmanlike I will agree. Probably seemed like a good idea to him at the time to get a quick cheap shot on the sack from behind...but isn't that a fairly well protected area of the shorts with the tail bone protectors those things have these days.

Anyway, my main point.....

Sometimes star players, leaders, etc. do stupid stuff that to fans, media and sport critics doesn't look very sportsmanlike. If a player has a lot of critics a lot of hype will be made out of the incident, if he doesn't then it'll just fall out of memory.

For example...
