Thinkingjack 51 Report post Posted April 7, 2011 I have a big job interview tomorrow, or later today in some of our cases already seeing as its 12:44am i guess, anyway my cars motor busted out on me a few weeks ago, i asked my dad if i could borrow one of his vehicles so i can drive to this event since it's important, more money is very important eh? But have to get to my dads house just under an hour away, i call a few friends who give the lamest excuses ever that they can't one is even willing to drive two hours away to help me out, too gnarly i turn him down though, thats excessively ridiculous but amazing he volunteered, i call my buddy dave and within the hour he's at my house revvin up his vtec engine on his civic going "LETS GOOOO BABY WOOOO" has me at my dads quick. In my part i do my best to help friends either financially, hockey wise, or even with anything else i can help with, and i get the short end of the stick even with those few, but Theres always that one friend who appreciates your help and goes out of his way for you like you do for them.Make as many bridges as you can, only burn those others at the right time!Wish me luck! NextBobbyOrr 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 Got back from the Philippines yesterday, first spring league game in a day or so, really excited. Especially after hearing that I'm on one of the "better" teams this year. And of course, haven't played for a while...but I can always use jetlag as an excuse. RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted April 9, 2011 Tonight is the night. Going to Habs/Leafs with tickets I won at the company Christmas Party. Too bad it ends up being a nothing game for both teams, but the rivalry is always good. And, my GF has only been to Bulldogs (AHL) games. I told her this will be a little different than Copps with 3,000 people. :)** - I guess not a total nothing game. Habs still have a seed to lock up. Nice to do it with a win rather than having to wait and see what Buffalo/NYR/Carolina do.
ndlancer95 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2011 I had a great day today. Got to go to NBC studios with a few of my friends courtesy of a family friend, got a tour of the entire facility, which included many things not seen by anyone other than personnel. We met Andy Samberg of SNL, tamron Hall of MSNBC, and also Chris Hansen. I didn't know whether to be happy or afraid when he told us to "Take A Seat" (His famous line in the show "To catch A Predator" when he confronts a sexual predator). Also got to see the control rooms for a few shows and learn the editing process. The SNL set tour was the best, being able to walk out of the door where many famous guest hosts such as George Carlin, Will Farrell, Mr. T, Gretzky, and O.J. Simpson used to get to the stage. I`m seriously hoping that his team takes it all there. Oh and he had to get a mohawk and dye it red(team orders haha!). So a great laugh and blackmail material. Chadd 916 Report post Posted April 19, 2011 MariottI stayed at the one with the casino (not the time shares) last March, nice place. Best place to catch hockey, if you care, if Busters Garage. It's down in the buildings next to the Hard Rock, on the far end. If you have time, hit Wacky Wahoos for dinner. It's my favorite restaurant on the island and maybe 1/4 mile inland from Busters. Just past that, next to the Valero, is Linda's Pancakes and Pizza. Dutch pancakes are like crepes, great for breakfast or a light lunch. Fishes n More is another place we try to hit, food is good and service is usually excellent. It's a small place, next to Casa Tua and Salt and Pepper, just before you get to the Hard Rock on the main street. Casa Tua has great pizza by the way. Also a big fan of Dushi bagels and burgers for a quick lunch, it's across the street from Texas de Brazil and Sbarro. There's some great snorkeling about a mile up the road towards the lighthouse. Go early enough and you can see/swim with turtles. Once the boats get up there, forget about it. The natural bridge is a bit of a tourist trap, but the scenery on that side of the island is nice, very rugged. Get out and explore the island, the locals are pretty nice and it's not hard to get around if you can read a map at all. If the waves aren't bad sign up for one of the snorkeling trips to the Antilla, it's starting to collapse but you don't often see such a large shipwreck in relatively shallow waters. skeeter14 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2011 Not sure if it exactly fits but here goes. Was having a pretty bad day, just short about everything, so I'm out with my fiancee and on the highway when I get cut off by a truck. Get up along side with the windows down and start going off on them calling them pretty much everything in the book, relieving a LOT of built up frustration. And then to the right of my head I see my fiancee's hand giving them the finger. At the same time they give me a "what the hell?" look. I put up the window and say "what the f was their problem?!?!" and turn to look at her. The reason I got that look was because she's sitting in the passenger seat, with my Reebok 8K helmet with Oakley Half shield on, over her sunglasses. I burst out laughing. It's things like that, that make me glad i'm with her.
