Actually, he has used both an Ultralite with Cyclone graphics as well as a Cyclone. The Cyclone shafts were marked as 140 flex, were 60" long and included a 3" plug. BTW, in case you were wondering the UPC for those Cyclones was: 0 0000 25706 3 :P

Wow, couldn't imagine a guy his size using a shaft with such a small diameter and feel! Was everything else the same besides length and flex?

As stiff as the "70 flex" retail Cyclones were, I wouldn't be surprised if those 95 flex were actually 120's.

Agreed. I used 95 flex Cyclones for the better part of a decade, but because I was so used to them, never really thought much about it. After I started getting into equipment more and experimenting around with a bunch of flexes, I realized how off they were. People say the 70s felt like 95s and my 95s (had 6 of them over the years) ALL felt like other companies' 110s. Ridiculous.

Yeah, when Tupac wrote a song about teenage pregnancy and abandonment, there was no point to that one. And when The Game dedicated a song to a girl who had been killed as an innocent bystander to a gang shootout, he didn't have a point there either.

Ok so how many songs did they have about killing rivals, selling drugs, pimpin hoes and stuff like that? Anyway this argument is as relevant as gangsta rap ahah

Hey, remember how I said to shut up and get back on topic on the last page? You might want to keep it in mind.

As far as I could tell, still super rounded, the plug was very square though. I doubt he used them for long but I know he used them at least for a little while in practice. I don't think he has super big hands Shaq hands though, all the gloves I've seen of his are 15" gloves.

Shanny also has a super squared shaft. His dolos were an epoxied standard shaft, very clear that it's a two-piece.

can sound like a stupid question, but how is the skate going to flex with those shot-blockers?

Funny...thought the same thing...and noticed no fusion. Has anyone seen any of the TOs in the show with fusion blades?

I remember seeing a Shanny Dolo at the Rangers team store in The Garden (aptly named, Double Teamed - for the Knicks and Rangers, sickos!). Shaft was very square, don't remember too much grip, and the fuse point area seemed spray painted but I couldn't see a clear end of the shaft-beginning of blade so I was under the impression it was 1 piece.

Well, that clears up my confusion with my cyclone shaft. And about the stiffness thing, I've stopped being surprised after I picked up Kyle Wellwood's shaft. I got his TPS R8. Damn, is it ever stiff. No joke it's at least over 102. My guess is around 110.

You should post more in the LS2 hockey thread ;)

Anyone know anything about this stick? Its not on the Salming website so I assume its new for this season. It has an huge double-concave taper (slightly bigger on 1 side, depending on LH or RH), its kinda similar to what you find on the Easton focus-flex stuff.

Its a Salming K11 KZN.

I talked about those sticks back in January when I saw them at the trade show. Unfortunately Scotty didn't send us one to evaluate for our review program. I was very interested in the stick and I think the concept is interesting.

yeah I dont think they are easy to find in Northamerica

They really screwed up their north american distribution a couple years ago and it really set them back. It will be interesting to see if they can get it right.

Where is this in the garden? I have never seen any store (except cosbys) sell hockey sticks in the garden.

Not sure what floor it's on. I just know the store was called Double Teamed and they sell Knicks/Rangers gear. I haven't actually seen any sticks in there this past season. I saw the Shanny stick when he was still on the team. They also had a Straka, Betts and I think Staal. It was awhile ago because the Straka was a 7K (red and black).

i'd guess its protecting an injury.

I'd gathered that much, I was wondering if anyone remembered specifically why he was wearing it, as well as why he used that design rather than something more conventional.

I think it's Blake Sloan and I thought it was a broken jaw. Not sure why that design was chosen tho, as interesting as it is.
