The Venting Spot

Transmission went south in wifes mini-van, furnace control board caught on fire, and sewer backed up in basement most likely due to daughter mummifying hand with toilet paper. Its been a crap week.

At least you can still make a decent pun?

migraines freaking suck :(

Amen. I had one on Tuesday and my mind is still a little foggy from it. The only option I have when I get them is to get into bed and hope I can sleep through the worst of it. Heaven forbid I wake up and the room is spinning.

To the D2 guy playing down in my D5 league, I owe you big time for "sweep the leg Johnny" you gave me from behind. Yeah, I played the rest of the game with a sore ankle, but your b.s. move has left me with a sprained ankle.

lost a game last night 2-1 in a shootout and after the game our coach made some remarks to everyone which i wont get into detail with but it was along the lines of eff you guys you dont wanna play for me i wont coach you anymore. He lost the little respect he did have from the team. Its like last season all over again

Think I reached a breaking point with my job. I just can't get into what I do anymore. I'm working on updating tech info in a book right now. I'll read and correct a page, then browse the internet for 30 minutes, fix one page, browse internet and repeat...

God dammit I need a new job...

Cory,

At least you HAVE a job... I've been unemployed and looking since September of 2009!

And since we're venting..... All those companies and consulting agencies that tell you that you had a great interview and you'll be hearing about the "next step" in their interview process - and then you never hear from them again!

At least you guys have had work experience to get a decent job. This economy has rendered me to making like $10 per week as a paper carrier and it's terrible when your customers don't have the common freakin' courtesy to pay you once a month! It's not like they aren't home, skip a week, etc... they do it EVERY FREAKIN TIME. Finally glad i'm turning in the 2 weeks notice.

BCS,

I can feel your pain..... Been there, done that... every one new to the job hunt is in the same position.... It's not any easier on this side of the fence - Yeah, I have 9 years experience but no 4 year degree.... I've also been on the other side of the interview process and usually an HR pencil pusher is screening the resume's and figure that someone fresh out of school with a sheepskin is somehow better than someone with a decade of real world experience. Right now it's a buyers market... I've actually seen postings for entry level Helpdesk support positions that require a 4 year degree AND 5 years experience! Yeah right....

came back home to visit the folks for a short holiday... i hate driving in my hometown, everyone is in such a freakin rush.

Was at the traffic light, i could have turned as the arrows showed that I was able to, but I also knew that there would be a number of pedestrians at this junction. I saw a yound teenager crossing from the other side, so I decided to just wait it out, I mean, whats another 10 sec or so right? I also spotted a kid riding along the sidewalk, and not knowing whether they were going to get onto the street I just held and waited. The taxi behind me just started blaring his horn... I replied by giving him the good ol two fingers instead of my usual middle one... he kept blaring his horn, and i really got pissed at him and cursed with a few choice words. My 6 year old son was in the back seat giggling away as he knew his ol' man shouldnt have said those words.

When I finally made the turn, he tried to overtake me, which i gave him the two fingers again. Obviously he stared at me big time, and even tried to jam on his brakes a little to make me swerve or something. As I drove past him at the next lights, it was another two fingers to him.

Jeez man, whats another 10sec to your waiting time compared to knocking a child down and they end up in hospital... WTF ...

I wish I had taken his licence plate down, and I would have made a complaint to the taxi company. I have no patience for people like this . If you are a cabbie and dont have the patience for road safety, then you shouldnt be driving! I've never driven a cab myself, but my father in law, best friend's dad, and two uncles all drove or are driving cabs and they all make sure its a safe thing.

My wife tells me that I should come back to visit, but never live here again. My short fuse would light really really quick.

Enough of this cold air in Wash DC. 150 miles over 2 days out in that crap. Was looking forward to a nice Sunday scratch race between some teams. When the first gust nearly blew us sideways I lost all interest in turning on the juice. Sick of intervals on the trainer, sick of not being able to feel my hands and toes.
